M62 Traffic Warnings

Traffic warning for anyone travelling over from Yorkshire for the game on Tuesday. There will be night road closures from 8pm - 6am until the end of September. In particular east and west bound between junctions 22 and 24. Closures are Monday to Friday. Times are subject to change at short notice.
Diversions will take you through Sowerby Bridge and Halifax on the A58. Having travelled from junction 27 for nearly 40 I have had many horrible experiences on the M62. Nothing ever goes smoothly in these circumstances.

Have to agree. A real statement of intent. Also as the new Managers first signing it certainly is one that all Dale fans were hoping for.
Lets hope there are more impressive signings to come, hopefully today.

Unfortunately they do not appear to be actively chasing membership.
I sent an e mail to the Trust on the 4th June requesting information about the renewal process for 2 existing members (exiles). I prefer not to have the auto renew as I like to assess my options.
To date I have not received any response.

Still no mention of Carl Magnay on official sites nor what is happening to Jason Taylor, Matty Done or Josh Lillis. Perhaps still in negotiations with Stockport before anything formal can be announced.

Pleased with the appointment but find it a bit strange that there hasn't been a live interview posted on the Clubs website.
Also surprised that confirmation of his assistant Carl Magnay hasn't actually been confirmed by the club yet it has according to South Shields FC website in a club statement.
Would love to hear what the new Managers views and expectations are.

I've been thinking this for quite a while as well. When you are allowed to have 7 substitutes on the bench I cannot think of a good reason for one of them not to be a goalkeeper.

Refwatch - Rochdale v Southend United

I too wondered why more wasn't done at half time. Four groundsmen walking around the pitch for 15 minutes randomly poking the pitch was absolutely pointless.
The effort the staff put in when the game was suspended was poles apart. It was great to see the coaching staff assisting. Perhaps we may have finished the game if the half time effort was as intense.
I though the referee did well and had no option but to abandon the game in the end.
It was pathetic to see someone from the Southend dugout throw at least 2 buckets of water on to the pitch whilst the mopping up was taking place. Hope fully that person will have been reprimanded in some way.

Keeper Signs On Loan

Personally I thought the new keeper had a very good debut and looked very assured.
At no point through the game did he cause any panic. His distribution and shot stopping (although there wasn't much) was perfectly acceptable.
All in all a good start for someone aged 23 with not many games under his belt.

Nice to see that he has been called up for the England under 19 squad.
Great recognition for him and also some credit must go to the club as well.
Perhaps this will also strengthen the links with Man City and they may want to send more young players to us on loan.

I seem to recall that it was mentioned at a meeting/forum by a director/club official that there would be an update on the training facility by the end of September.
I have seen nothing on the official club website to date.
I thought it strange that the update was 'tucked' away at the back of the Club Advisory Board Minutes from the 15th September but not announced until the 2nd October.
Surely if there is genuine progress in the matter there would have been a 'big' announcement from the Club.

When Jim was recruiting new players during the summer I personally thought that the recruitment of a new goalkeeper was of major importance.
When I read that we had signed a 17 year old from Man City on a seasons loan I did not think that this was a wise decision. There is such a difference in playing Academy football to the rigors of The National League and I thought the step up would be too much.
How wrong was I. Whatmuff is one of the best keepers I have seen for Rochdale and whoever initiated the move deserves a medal.
He is such a competent, cool, composed keeper and has brought such a calmness to our defence. What a signing!!! If his progress continues he will have a stellar career.
By the way does anyone know if he is left or right footed because he kicks just as well with either?

Corey Edwards Joins County On Loan

I find this loan transfer very strange. How are we benefiting? We are not getting a transfer fee and losing a squad member.
I thought Edwards was excellent in his few games at the end of last season and expected he would be a vital member of the squad this season.
Clearly there are reasons but what are they?

Whilst I didn't agree with the decision to make so many changes at Brackley to have 15 points from the first 6 games and be top of the league is fantastic.
Ironically despite that decision by Jim he is likely to be awarded Manager of The Month for August. All in all well deserved.

Roland Bergkamp on loan in 2011 and Kangana Lord on loan in 2004. Both 6 ft 5 ins. They played 5 games and 1 game respectively. No goals between them.
I think I am being kind when I say neither impressed.
I'm sure Kangana was substituted pretty early on in his one game and sent back to his parent club. His Wikipedia states he played for 13 clubs and for 12 of them the most he played was 4 games. Oldham was one of the other teams.
In total during his career he played 28 games and scored once.
Fair to say he may qualify as the worst player ever for Rochdale though I stand to be corrected.
