Watch me rise up and leave, all the ashes you made out of me – Report
at 14:20 29 Apr 2024

Absolutely outstanding Clive, and so appropriate that the quality of your writing reflected the brilliance of our performance!

I have been supporting the R's for 52 years and Friday night was a real moment under the lights - it was almost as if we exorcised some of the pain of recent years.

Something special is beginning to take shape in our club and I can't wait for next season.

Who is your Non-League side?

I know what you mean Stow. Imperial Fields sounds a bit grand, but to be fair it's not bad at all and has become a community hub.

Hopefully the Terrors can claw their way back up the pyramid..

The mighty Tooting & Mitcham United - up the Terrors! Devoted hardcore fans and a somewhat of a cult Non-League club. Now languishing in Combined Counties Premier Leaue South..

I have a soft spot for Buxton FC in Vanarma North. Went there with my uncle in 1975 to see them play a pre-season friendly v Man Utd reserves - they'd just been relegated, and I got Tommy Docherty's autograph!

Geordie Walker RIP
at 16:04 27 Nov 2023

Blimey, it's only a year since we lost Keith Levene and now Geordie - 2 of the greatest (along with the late great John McGeoch).

Sad news indeed R.I.P.

Sunderland, solidarity
at 13:30 20 Feb 2023

Always had time for Sunderland, great fans and club, whereas Newcastle fans have always seemed more entitled.

That 1973 FA Cup Final encapsulated the magic of football for me as a 7 year old. Leeds seemed to me to be the 'baddies' of that era and I was massively rooting for Sunderland as the underdog - Ian Porterfield, Jim, Montgomery, Dennis Tueart, Bobby Kerr all names etched in my memory. That was also my first full season supporting the R's that year and we went up! Ah, nostalgia..

Great picture of a great chap one of my favourite ever nights, as indeed was the semi-final at Anfield. I remember late in the second half that night, Robbo was clearly puffing, having chased everything all game, and we all started singing his name - he waved back as if to say, "thanks lads".

So glad you wore the Hoops, R.I.P. Michael.

My sentiments exactly - I'm actually looking forward to seeing us play for the first time in years!

This is such terrible news. I had the good fortune to meet Matthew in the last few years and he was a genuinely nice guy who loved to talk about his time at Rangers.

Given the atmosphere that was building, I thought the minutes silence last night was impeccable, and fair play to Pompey's fans for playing their part.

R.I.P. Matthew, gone way too soon.

Dave,

What a proud Rangers lineage to have - thoughts and prayers are with your Dad, you and your family.

Toxic from the minute he set foot into our club - Barton was instrumental in getting Warnock sacked and any half decent performance on the pitch was never worth the downside of having the prick in the dressing room, playing his mind games on his 'team mates' and manager. Also, his attempt to spin himself a 'Philosophy Footballer' was f*cking embarrassing - CAUC (Complete And Unredeemable C*nt)

It's funny how certain songs conjure up an image like that - Mott's "Crash Street Kids" reminds me of a similar off in the School End with Stoke..

Nostalgia - it ain't what it used to be..

Excellent post Hunter, I'm sure most Rangers fans feel the same - summed up when the R's contingent sang, "Ryan Manning, he's one of our own" as he left the field towards the end. That was great to hear.

5 Years of utter ineptitude
at 15:03 7 Nov 2016

I'm with Antti and JH re Tony Fernandes - a man whose ineptitude, weakness and ego has made him as damaging to QPR as Gianni Paladini. Yes, Paladini, Briatore et al were like Bond villains and were almost open in their contempt for the fans and legacy of our club, but TF's need to be loved has been just as destructive.

The need to tell us his feelings on Twitter, his inability to keep his mouth shut, double page spreads in the Standard, his "I'm a QPR fan" bullsh*t - no you're not Tony, you're West Ham, all these grate.More than any of these, it's his decisions that have left us where we are. His whole approach, season after season has been that of a degenerate gambler with 'shit or bust' mentality. This from a man who said he didn't have a Plan B if we got relegated.

I had more pride in my club when we had f*ck all money but players and a manager who cared and knew about and respected what QPR means to its fans. TF has changed our club into something else and it's a mirror image of himself - take a long, hard look at it.

Always hated Leeds - I remember their fans being openly racist, monkey chants etc well into the 1990's and beyond.

Sh*t fans, sh*t clobber, sh*t 'we're a big club' mentality, sh*t city

I seem to remember Brian Law having a brilliant game in the centre of defence at home to Sheff Wed, somewhere in the haze of the late 80's or early 90's and thinking he looked a like a good prospect. Was it injury that did for him?

Great pic, great kit, you R's.
