If it's £30m then that's a good deal for Saints. I won't begrudge him wanting PL wages and a stab at the CL. He stuck with us all last season. Although very good he's always been prone to make the odd error and switch off, especially at the highest level although I'd have loved him to stay. Now we just need another CB. I see the Norwegian has been rumoured. Surely we can now blow any other suitors out of the water with a bid and get it wrapped up. If not him another quality CB. If we do that (and after yesterday) I'd be very positive above the season ahead......Oh, and another midfielder please. |

Hardly a mass clearly out bestokesaint. Only Charles in terms of the the 'big hitters' so far, and he didn't play all the time. We want to ship out lot of others on permanent or loan deals. BBD and Quarshie already off, now for Ramsdale and Bazunu and so on. Still hope that THB will stay but I wouldn't hold it against if he didn't. Stuck with us all last season. It's now reported than Man U are interested. He wouldn't say no to them. Anyway, we need another CB if THB does go as Stephens isn't a starter to put it kindly. His limitations were exposed last night. Going forward I can only see a role for him as someone you throw at the end of a game to shore things up, when two 'proper' centre backs remain on the pitch. That's if we keep him. |

I presume their waiting for Eckert to to be banned so they don't have to twhyake compensation. Who knows. If it is as reported why doesn't Eckert do the decent thing; resign and apologise? It wouldn't make up for it but it would be the only honourable thing to do. If he's after a pay off that would be incredible....Oh, and I never have blamed Ralph for the 9-0s. Changing the subject a little, I live only a few miles from Wembley and my Friday evening walk to Sainsbury's wasn't improved by scores of Middlesbrough fans in beer gardens enjoying the weather! I may force myself to listen to it on the radio but only in the hope that Hull win. This has really killed my passion for football. Not even interested in the impending World Cup either atat the moment. Any I hope Hull for the beast

San Marco but what can we do? All clubs are ''at it's whether it be cheating on or off the field. We were just stupid enough to get caught.. What also riles me is the number of clubs suddenly claiming to paragons of virtue, and in particular, Middlesbrough of course. It's just as well social media wasn't around when they pulled a sicky against Blackburn. Got off very lightly with a 3 point deduction but they still went down. Hull being promoted may bring a half smile to my face but Middlesbrough succeedoping will just add insult to injury. They fanned the flames of public opinion and influenced proceedings in my view . They did the same to Derby about for or 5 years ago. All about the money. |

Although I've had an account for a long while I'm more of an observer rather than a commentator but I just felt the need. Some interesting pieces TalkSport this morning around proportionality. Let's face it we've been absolutely shafted by the EFL. That being said we shouldn't have done it, and heads need to roll including Ekcert. We are the onethat suffer and it has probably set he club back 5 years at least. I'm disgusted and ashamed by the club and the EFL in equal measures. It will take me some time to actually like football again. I also very very sorry for Hull. Whilst on the one hand the EFl is supposedly making an example of us for the sake of sporting integrity that seemingly doesn't apply when there's money to be made from a play off final. Absolutely disgusting that Hull haven't been given a bye as would join any other sport. Just wondering how I'll ever be able to watch Saints play in a league which run by a body with such double standards again at the moment.

Forster needs a run of games yet I suspect Ralph won't drop McCarthy. Fair enough, if he doesn't rate Forster so bring in a new keeper. I'd personally be move earth and heaven and earth to get Areola. Thought he was exceptional for Fulham last season and it's got to be better than sitting on West Ham's bench on loan. |

If we'd signed Vlaar a year ago I'd probably have been very excited by the prospect yet he's not what we need. We need someone who is more athletic, quicker and the right side of 30. Someone who is comfortable on the ball who will compliment Fonte. Van Dijk fits that bill. This signing is crucial, and, we have the money to get him. True, Celtic will realise this and make us pay top dollar, yet I understand it would be worth it. He's fantastic by all accounts. Our defence concerns me at the moment, although less so now given that Soares looks the real deal. Just hope that Bertrand is back soon. This is a signing we simply must make. |

I would've taken Vlaar a year ago, yet he has seemingly lost what little pace he had. This was evident when we played Villa at home. Van Dijk fits the bill, and we have the cash and Roko to secure him. Not sure what 'our level' is, yet it is high enough these days to enable us to sign the likes of Clasie, Wanyama and Forster, so I don't see a problem. I have also never seen a problem with players in the Scottish League. Yes, the league itself is not great yet there are some fine players in it. If Van Dijk comes to Saints and does what the others have then I'll be happy. I agree that Celtic is a huge club, and it is kind of laughable that 'little' Saints can sign their players these days, yet this craziness is being a member of the cash cow that is the EPL, and those clubs who aren't are at a severe financial disadvantage. |

Good luck to him. At least he hasn't thrown his toys out of the pram unlike some of his new of his new colleagues, when it comes to trying to secure a move. He doesn't have the competition in Liverpool's squad, so will have a starting place secured. He'll get a hefty pay rise, which, will go some way to compensate him for having to endure the inane ramblings of Brendan. Also, who's to say that our Soares won't make us forget?....Maybe Liverpool will make a bid soon enough, as they've not been the same since their Suarez went to a big club. |
