Everyon was over the moon Peretz commited to Saints. What you are saying is he shoud be dropped then brought back in in January if we manage to offload Ramsdale. Its thinking like that that did for Leicester. Good players not team. Why would you commit to a club as a player if you see Peretze come in from Bayern only to be dropped at the first oportunity? Ramsdale might be a better keeper but Peretze was part of the team that came close to turning relegation form into automatic promotion form. Thats what we want to get back to
Tondas performance at Lincon was forgetable but lets not forget the team spirit he managed to build. |

Seriously, while I know this is just a business transaction and these clubs do have fans in most cities, it does seem like a miss-step form the club. We are obviously not the stature of these clubs but we should at least keep up a polite pretense.

Biggest on the list is Ramsdale.I cant beleive no one has come in for him TBH but if they dont we might be in trouble so we are in a very weak bargaining possition. Looks like someone will get a Bargin. Bazunu is on relitivly low wages but we cant get another keeper without him gone, it may be we end up keeping him despite everyone wanting to move on.
I cant see us raising the money being talked about without selling major players. I understand we are OK PSR wise last year. I can only see that the club might just have to hold tight and make the loss at least until Jan when we can work out our chances. The impact of Will Salt being late for work really has become apparent. Squeeky bum time but the club really have to go for it or fade down the league next season.

Midfield looks a little light but that will lokk better with Jander back. We do have to get players off the books most notably Ramsdale on 100k a week! Hopefully if he moves on we can keep most others. Shea would be good to sell at the right price but I can see that going to deadline day, probably the same as Ramsdale too potential buyers will save themselves almost 1m by waiting!

The club are cannot apeal the EFL decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as this was subject to the resolution at the time. This does not cover any decision the FA make as it wasnt part of the accepted resolution. I can imagine a case where the club appeal first through the FA then through (CAS). I think that they would successfully appeal a substantial touchline band as it unduely effects the club and they have already been punished twice for the same offence.
For this reason I expect the FA to lean more towards a finacial penalty with a short touchline ban and a more lenghy ban suspended based on future behaviour.
My other thought is that the charges do not relate to spying itself but his treatment of staff in making them do it. Rule E3.1 is very broad in the same way EFL Regulation 3.4 (which requires clubs to act toward each other with good faith). Both Rules were present at the time of the Leeds incident, the latter of wich we recieved -4points and Leeds recieved 200k fine for. I dont belive the FA Charged Bielsa with anything. So in this case there IS precedent.
The FA will want to be seen as authoratative but will also need to ballance the risk of the club appealing winning and making them look weak.
By the woring of rule E3.1 it appears that maybe the FA are charging Tonda not with spying but how he has spoken to Will Salt. Which in my view would be an amazing over-reach. It would be like Ofgem getting involved with a case of bullying at British gas when there are already institutions (ACAS) that legaly arbitrate these situations. He is obviously not guilty of violent conduct so one can only assume he has used "threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour"
In short the FA need to tread carefully or end up looking like chumps. |

@WestSussexSaint what may prevent us from playing Championship football is challeging the EFL process. If you recall when Cortese took over he stated he would challenge our 15point deduction. He was advised by the EFL that he was welcome to but SFC would not be invited to play in league 1 if there was an unresolved issue.
Personally I think that this may well be starting point for a review of EFL process and powers by Independent Football Regulator. Having been sad enough to read The EFL handbook, they grant themselves unlimited power to make whatever decision they feel apropriate at the time.
In dismissing the Leeds decision as precident both "independent" panels have also dismissed that there was no appeal by any of the other EFL as to the resoloution of the situation at the time. All other EFL teams were content with a 200k fine.
In terms of bias and integrity , the EFL processes that are put into place need to be spotless if they are going to maintain the confidence of the public and claim to uphold the integrity of the game. The CEO of Boro should have been publicly but politly stood down and ANY personelle with ANY links to Boro should not have been involved.
From the very first statement by the EFL it was clear that their intention was to expell Saints as Boro wanted.
Of course I am angry with Tonda and hs team. But frankly im left dispondant about the point of watching football at all by the conduct of the EFL and Boros senior leadership. |

Will Salt, who had previously refused to spy on Ipswitch changes his mind for Boro and stands plain as day with his iPhone recording a training session that would normally be conducted either indoors or of the 1st team training pitch?
Seems like a trap we willing walked into.

The Disapinary Commision were within thier rights to expidite the case as detailed in the EFL handbook. Having said that the handbook is very generious with the powers and limitations of the EFL. On almost every rule they have the right to make things up on the fly.
If Saints had a spine there would be a legal challange but unfortunatly the EFL also have the right to retain our invitation to play in the EFL. This is why we couldnt appeal the 15point deduction in League 1. |

The decsion to expel SFC was made the day the complaint was made. The fact that the process was expediated "to alow for footballing sanctions" realy shows the lack of objectivity in the process.

I am afraid that @Mesher view is shared by most of the popultion. It has been widely (and incorrectly) reported that southampton have accepted guilt. Middleborough have been refused to show thier evidence is also BS. They have provided thier evidence at the time of the complaint.
The only thing that we can be sure of is the statements made by the clubs and a photo of a man stood by a tree leaked be Boror to sway public opinon. What he is taking a photo of is purely based on the statement by Boro.
The dicaplinary pannel will base thier decision on thoer opinion what is probable. They may decide that there simply isnt enough evidence or tey may decide that he was proabbly there to spy or it wasnt premeditated. There are a whole raft of conclusions that can be drawn before any punnishment can be given out..
For example the club could have sent him to spy but told him not to within 72 hrs... all within the rules. Then he acted as an oportunist as he saw Boro had decided not to train in thier indoor complex and inexplicbly next to the golf club entrance . |

Wycombe finished 22nd in the Championship in the 2020-21 season, one point behind 21st-placed Derby County, and were relegated to League One. They appealed that Derbys football sanction should be imediate . The EFL refused and Wycombe lost the appeal.
Derby had stacks for PRS breaches and also tried to cook the books. Which is more impactful that or young Mr Salt and his iPhone.
So why the rush? Footballing sanctions are mainly applied the following season , with the exeption of going into admin. In fact the last non finacial sanctions applied in the same season was Boro in 96/97 for not fullfilling a fixture.
So why the rush? Well Steve Gibons has hired the big guns, is on the EFL board making the recomendations and the decision seems to be made regardless of the independent commision |

I had no problems I thought it was pretty full blooded but it was the derby people wanted. If anything the ref could have controlled it more, was obvious it was going to escalate , Pompey were obviously going in hard to make up for lack of ability |
