That's a fair point, he would've been one of of the highest earners then for sure.
His style wasn't for me, but he did come up with a few important goals. |

This is exactly how I see it too, Punk R. He’s fine and seems like a decent lad. He does some great things and irritating things in equal measure. If he was as good as some people make out he wouldn’t be at QPR nor would he have probably declared for Martinique internationallyz
A historic giant of French football have bid on him, he’ll also feel the pull.
We have adequate cover for him, take the money which is a sizeable profit and reinvest or apportion to Ronnie Edwards transfer. |

Varane’s biggest weakness for me is his inability to progress the ball forward.
A lack of bravery or playing with fear or just not being able to see the pass is the one trait that keeps him a QPR player.
If he sorts that and his occasional moments of mind blanks out he won’t be here for much longer. [Post edited 4 Jan 22:21]

I’m surprised how divisive a player Field is.
He’s a decent pro that’s played a fair amount of games for us. Limited yeah, lower Champ player, yeah - that’s why he’s at QPR
I think I rate him (rather than over or under) but I do think Varane is overrated. [Post edited 29 Dec 2025 21:37]

I think if you can post that sort of comment you need to try and own it, especially when (as this season has shown so far) you end up getting it incredibly wrong.
He’s currently one of the first names on the sheet. The last turnaround of this level was probably Furlong.
