Lincoln are crude, we knew that and needed to robustly smother it and look to counter it as we know we can do . But we were lazy, elitist and complacent; superiority has to be earnt sometimes. The day was not helped by Tonda, for once, getting his tactics wrong and doing a 'Tuchel'. The only plus was that we did not lose. Hopefully we have learned lessons and will deign this weeks continuing run of home matches against table topping teams as being worthy of a full blooded approach. |

More worrying than the defensive clangers was the seeming lack of heart and effort. All as if this was a game nobody wanted in keeping with the club's approach to the match. On top of overpricing and stand closures, with it falling on the 25th anniversary of St Marys first game you would have thought some gesture to the fans would have been appropriate and warranted.
Lets hope we are collectively back on track for Saturday. |

There are some very illuminating aspects in your post. Boro have been constructing 'evidence' all along and also looked to distastefully add misplaced grievances from Tuesday to their portfolio. They are seeking re-instatement at our expense which is the last sanction the EFL should ever consider and one that would be highly challengeable by Saints. If we were to be banned then the EFL should give a bye to Hull.

A churlish report. I never heard the Boro supporters, but they have my sympathy for what must have been a bitter long and late journey home. There was good Saints support but not surprisingly it all has a tinge of apprehension around it at the moment. That is that in 23/24 we still had a residue of skilful and experienced Premiership players, that were also augmented by some Premiership class loanees ( Brooks and Rothwell). Apart from Fernandes we now have no one of that calibre. SR policies have seen us decline from middle order Premiership standard to an uncertain Championship class. |

It is bitterly disappointing and annoying that they have adopted this approach to cup games again. I was looking forward to this tie but their match arrangements are no inducement to go and it sets the wrong tone across the board. I did not buy my season ticket to be displaced and unless they open the Kingsland I doubt whether I will bother. It is rumoured that a body of sane Saints supporters (yes there are some) in collaboration with members of the Jack Stephens Appreciation Society (yes there are some) are to lodge a hate complaint with Hampshire Constabulary against harmful comments in certain Forums. On the basis that such comments are leading to trauma, mental health issues and widespread disillusionment.
The fact that the perpetrating journalist is obviously suffering from rampant long term PFFS (Post Fonte Fixation Syndrome) is not seen as sufficient mitigation against the charge.
Also, within the charge is an accusation of radicalisation towards a fundamentalist defence is defence strategy that undermines the traditional Saints values of defence as an afterthought. So intense is this doctrine that it does not even accept a clean sheet.
Unfortunately, the Constabulary are only ingrained with dealing with Skate extremism and are untrained in dealing with the subtleties of Red on Red tensions. It is expected that they will deal with the complaint by referring to the Hamza Useless manual of woke mishaps.

Another mean spirited attack on Jack Stephens, RM and in effect all things Saints. Yes
a settled défence would be for the best but you and others deprecate certain players and gloss over others as if they never put a foot wrong, which is something that all defenders ( at every club) are very much open to. For instance KWP is a very good footballer and an asset to us but he is not the strongest defender and is often caught out of position. Something that Stephens and Manning would be endless castigated for. If you take a look back at past videos including Saints defensive greats, you will often see them stranded in the wrong space and lagging behind attackers. A touch of realism is needed. |

We should play our previous Cup team and give the younger players experience and reward.
They are probably equally as good as Klopp's Kids and have as much chance as the seniors.
Hopefully we can put paid to the Liverpool histrionics one way or another.
