Can't believe no one has yet said this:
"That was a dive, ref - book him"

New Taarabt Interview
at 16:25 24 Mar 2024

Interesting stories but I was hoping for a first hand account of the Fulham bus stop episode.

I agree he was fantastic in that run-in that kept us up in 11/12 (though he was not trusted for the final game at City) but to my mind his greatest performance was that false 9 in the away win the following season at Chelski.

Does This Ref Get The First Ever Zero Rating From Clive .
at 00:43 7 Mar 2024

One thing he got right was the early booking for time wasting. But yes, he seemed to collapse after the linesman gave the penalty and was shocking. In addition to the errors already pointed out, at one point he stopped Frey taking a throw but instead of giving it to WBA let Paal take it a moment later. Maybe there is a new rule stopping big centre forwards taking a throw? Thankfully he only marred but did not spoil a cracking game and a fine performance.

Nice Fella, looks like he enjoys a boiled dinner...

Well, I enjoyed that. Surreal. The recap at 57 mins is a classic.

Biggest point of interest is that we charge £6.75 for a small plastic bottle of fizzy lager.

Buying tickets
at 19:30 4 Feb 2024

You lot are lucky. Try buying something ftom the online shop, using up your QPR cash (which you earn by buying season and match tickets). My head is still spinning from from logging onto numerous linked accounts and jumping through several screens, none of which matched the documentation. To be fair, though, there is no ominous timer to crank up the tension. It was worth is as my new grandson is shortly to be a proud wearer of QPR baby dungarees.

The ref sure contributed to a dire match, setting the tome in the first 20 mins.
Showing my age, but those stocky sprints reminded me of the famous 70s ref who sprinted at 100 mph backwards as well as forwards.

Stoke away time to get back to station
at 19:13 14 Apr 2023

You might, as it goes right past the ground!

Now the sensible thing might have been to add a station when the ground was built...

Stoke away time to get back to station
at 14:18 14 Apr 2023

At about two miles I've always walked it and while it's normally do-able in the time you have, the crowds slow you right down at first on both walking routes shown on Google Maps so only chance is to leave early.

Wow, that was some match. I loved the fact that we cut out the playing out from the back and won so many second balls with two targets to aim at. Wonder though how Chair fits into this style when fit?

Amazingly, most of these fees have been outlawed or capped since 2019 - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/tenant-fees-act .

Kyle Walker was recalled in 2010/11 and we coped alright. But we did have Derry, Hill and Adel etc.

Who remembers that great run....
at 17:24 15 Dec 2022

That was indeed a great team. P42 W24 D13 L5. Though it was an oddly uncompetitive season as us and Burnley aced it, with Villa in third, finishing about 17 points behind us, in the days of only two points for a win.

I really remember the Villa home game on 10th March. It was one of those perfectly sunny spring days and we won a close game 1-0 to go top and really confirm promotion. After that we played 9 and won 8 with only a 0-0 away to Cardiff denying us the title. Us and Burnley just kept winning.

The Millwall away win was satisfying, as theyearlier turned us over 3-1 at home, so it was great revenge. The other highlight was the double over the Fools. The season ended with our final game postponed so that Sunderland could beat Leeds to win the FA Cup, only to play us at home the next Wednesday when Stan knocked over the Cup and we beat them 3-0. Happy days.

Brilliant read. Bit less polished than usual but suits the mood. (Read your article whilst on a BT online chat for 90 minutes to fix a simple problem so enjoyed the railway refund saga.)

Grounds without a Train Station
at 13:24 13 Oct 2022

Stoke is a classic. The new ground was built next to the mainline but of course no new station. We decided to walk after hearing some of the away fan bus compound horrors. No too bad but a bit gloomy on a dark night!

Another topic could be stations with names similar but nowhere near the actual team name. Bolton springs to mind, and of course Queen's Park!

That miss….

It was indeed a crazy miss but the linesman raised his flag and I think the ref pointed for a free kick. Not that it was offside of course.

Barcelona - Nou Camp

I took my son a few years ago and it was a great time. Though the great Messi, Saurez etc lost 1-0 to Celta Vigo! Easy to get to via Metro and we were so relaxed that we walked back into the town centre to enjoy the night. The view is OK considering how big it is, though the absence of a roof lets the crowd noise out. We also went on the tour next day - that was good. But not as good as Loftus Road of course.

Yeah, the subtext is clearly that after a decent interval the club will try to hawk the naming rights. If so, I'd prefer to keep the current name, though I do also take into account Clive's message about the dire financial state. Until we ever get into the Premier I wonder how whether the income will be more than a token?

Great write-up and it's upsetting how the club has handled the situation.

In terms of the inquest into the post Reading 4-0 collapse, a whole bunch of factors seem to combine. One that to me may have been the tipping point was the January transfer window strategy. Bringing in and then immediately starting Hendrick and Sanderson did not make us better and seemed to jog the sense of togetherness. I could understand bringing them in as backup but not starting them. And surely the priorities were at wing back and up front?
