Don't particularly want us to be in the Premier league but the journey getting there sure would be fun.

I think you're underestimating Huddersfield a little. They won't catch us, but they are VERY much in the mix to stay up - they beat Birmingham and Sheffield Wed lose, they are out of the relegation zone even before the last game of the season.

A draw doesn't do them much good, they're going to go all out for 3 points there

Birmingham and Huddersfield play each other.
Birmingham are 4 points behind, if they lose, they can't catch us
Huddersfield are 6 points behind, if they lose or draw they can't catch us.
Either way we're guaranteed to finish above one of them.

It's the other spot that matters, best chance is to take care of it ourselves obviously.

A few million for Dykes?

Looking to generate about £10M in sales? I'll be honest, I don't think we'd get £10M if we sold every player in our entire squad.

Not trying to be a dck, I just honestly don't know what other teams would be worth more than £1-2M for any player. Not Chair with the court case hanging over him. JCS probably and maybe Field? Possibly Dunne?

I think it's saying something that except for Cook, JCS, Field and Chair, I don't think there are any players that big chunks of our fan base (not necessarily the same people in every case) don't think are Championship quality.

Championship Predictor - final table
at 01:01 21 Apr 2024

Oh I've been around far too long to celebrate staying up yet, we know if anybody are experts in getting "special" sets of results it's us!

But I feel way more comfortable knowing just how much has to go right for other teams now, and hopefully the pressure being off means we'll go and do something stupid like smash 6 past Leeds.

Because they play each other, we are guaranteed to finish above one of Huddersfield and Birmingham (barring a ludicrous goal difference swing).

If Sheffield Wed beat Blackburn, they still need a win and draw in their next 2, and then Blackburn would need a point to overtake us (including a game away to Leicester)

And if Sheffield Wed get that, Plymouth would need a win or two draws in their next 2

And if Plymouth gets that Stoke would need a point, or to equal or better the goal difference from our games.

Or we could just get a point. But realistically, today was monumental as a result and it would take something very special from here for us to screw up.

Thank you Marti Cifuentes.

If my Maths is right, in the 30 games since Marti took over, we have conceded just 31 goals. When you consider how hot and cold Begovic has been that's utterly remarkable.

I mean, let's not do this the hard way please but whatever happens in the next 2 hours this has been a worse day for Huddersfield than for us

On the other hand if Huddersfield and Wednesday lose, we kick off against Preston knowing 3 points effectively guarantees survival. That would be lovely.

Anyone else getting a bit apprehensive?
at 17:02 15 Apr 2024

I'm highly confident we'll win one more game between now and the end of the season and that should be enough to see us ok IMO.

Couldn't even begin to predict which we'll win, but my nerves and liver would appreciate it if it's Preston.

I know there's a lot of doom and gloom at the moment and understandably so, but if Huddersfield and Wednesday lose on Saturday, we kick off against Preston knowing that a win effectively guarantees our safety.

If we've learnt anything from the last month it's surely that logic for who "should beat" who has flown out of the window.

Leicester "should" have beaten Plymouth and millwall, Leeds should have beaten Blackburn.

50 points will be enough, whether we'll get there or not is the question.

For what it's worth I agree.

I used to have a season ticket, loved a Saturday 3pm. I'm sad to see this evolution for the people that turn up every week rain or shine, it's not fair. Selfishly I'm grateful, I live abroad now so getting to games isn't an option, it's just nice to be able to watch as many Rangers games as I can. Before QPR+, which has been a game changer, the broadcast games were the only ones I'd ever get to see, a couple of times a season.

I was curious about what the odds were for our players to score first tomorrow. The site I use had the EIGHT shortest odds on Hull players. That's how low the opinion is of our strike force.

Oooh, that's a cracking time for those of us on the other side of the pond though!

I will say it's taken some getting used to "normal" games kicking off Saturday at 9am, but it's quite a different experience watching the game on the tablet with a cup of tea and nice breakfast instead of a with a few beers.

When I first moved over the only televised games were usually Sunday at 6am and involved banging on the pub door demanding to be served beer and a cooked breakfast.

I'm not going to link them here but fun to see that some of the tabloids are running with the idea that Mykhalo Mudryk isn't working out for Chelsea and they're looking at other options.

Just the 7 years left on that contract then
