I remember that match well. It was the first season my grandad took me. We both had season tickets for the school end. I seem to remember my season ticket a thick booklet of tear off match ticket coupons and a couple of cup tie coupons too.
Rally round the drum. Beat the Clock - 6d a ticket and oh the toilet rolls on the pitch! |

If 2nd best is acceptable then that’s all you will achieve
Agree that for many years now underachieving has been accepted by the “powers that be”
To me the club has lost its identity. We have an owner who hardly ever attends matches. A CEO who despite his lack of experience thinks it’s acceptable to also be DOFand to treat supporters with disdain.
There is no Mr QPR like in Jim Gregory’s day. No characters, no one actually driving matters, no one engaging with the fans.
Look at Wrexham. Ok it’s an ego ride for 2 Hollywood stars and a tv show too but those owners turn up to watch matches. They have engaged with the club and the town. It’s a can do and positive attitude they have instillled. It might be all for the tv show but no matter, look what it’s doing for the club and the supporters. Winning is acceptable, losing is not. Compare that to QPR
I don’t believe anything will change for the better until we have a proper “football” owner who takes a true interest in the club and is seen walking the walk. They would then need to complete a complete clear out of the solely data driven management and fitness staff who, in my mind, are part of our problem.
In 60 years of supporting QPR I have seen many good times and plenty of bad times. I cannot see the good times coming back until sweeping ownership changes and management changes are made |

Today’s loss totally down to our Manager and him not managing. Both Smyth & Mbengue should have been subbed off with 20 mins to go
JS doesn’t seem to learn from his mistakes
But agree the mentality is weak . We panicked once down to 10 men. Instead of killing the match off and being hard , we rolled over and surrendered . |

I always stay at the Premier Inn Heathrow T 4. You can walk undercover from the hotel to either the Tube or the Elizabeth line

Amazing match. My first 'real' away match as a 10 year old. Caught the supporters club coach from Loftus Road and it tooks hours and hours to get to Villa Park. I recall the coach broke down on the way up and we only got to the ground just before kick off. |

1967 for me. My grandad took me and we always stood in the school end. We subsequently had season tickets for many years in the “new” stands
I remember him parking his Vauxhall Victor in the roads by the ground. Burgers and those onions from boiling water from the burger stall on the Streep (not a van) were such a treat. The match program with the also included Football League Review mag. Also Queuing up for Bovril at half time. Oh and Beat the Clock tickets for 6d |

Not just him. There was a point in the first half where we had 10 or more opportunites to put a cross into the box. But no. The players all just tippy tappy between them selves and eventually lost the ball to Derby. About 5 players seemingly all frightened to cross the ball |
