An open letter to our Sky overlords — Column
at 21:52:22

What is needed is all the other fan sites to write similar letters and start a common movement. We need a non-Murdoch publication to then take this on and build a movement. Sky have got away with taking the pi55 for too long. A few hundred thousand fans coordinating serving notice to Sky would be massive news and may start a revolution. Doubt any of this will happen though.

Best day of my life, after 35 years of following the R's (but don't tell the wife or kids that!)

Bi-annual Fulham thrashing exposes familiar failings — report
at 17:15:57

What concerns me the most about yesterday is that not only did JFH not see it coming but he didn't change anything until it was too late. I'm glad we have him as a manager and that at last we are going for a longer term view, but he looked like a complete novice yesterday with his inability to firm things up when we were getting torn apart and that is worrying.

Austin and Faurlin inspire comeback — Report
at 23:02:45

Glad to see the role of the Brighton player who helped Faurlin avoid being sent off acknowledged. I think the remonstrating by Dunk and Houghton with the 4th official was not about defending Dunk but trying to get Faurlin sent off for his reaction. To be fair I fully expected Faurlin to be red carded for his reaction. I thought he made contact with Dunk before he we wrestled away.

For the first time this season I actually enjoyed watching us. I felt for Ramsey and Warnock, but the difference in approach and attitude was plain to see. There's no excuse for players not performing for other managers, but there has to be an element of that which led to Ramsey's sacking. Nevertheless, for the first time in years we looked like we had some sort of tactical plan, rather than a "just go out there and see what happens" approach. I feel like in JfH we may have, at long last, the manager us long suffering fans deserve.

Nutmegs, I prefer — column
at 09:10:46

Football is meant to be about entertainment and Adel was an entertainer. In 35 years of watching QPR that season will live forever in the memory. As fantastic as people like Derry and Hill were, no one will be showing their highlights in the years to come. Adel is simply one of the most skilful players to ever wear the Hoops and I'd argue there are very few players in the Prem League with his talent. Unfortunately he's a tw a t so he'll never fulfil his potential but, just like Zamora, no matter all the other stuff, he will always be a legend in my book.

QPR back Ferdinand’s plan with Ramsey risk — column
at 22:58:17

Such a difficult one to call and only time will tell. Would a Redknapp team have won at Sunderland and West Brom, no matter how crap they were on the day? No. Big ticks for that. Would Redknapp try out the youth? Nope. Could Redknapp bring the best out of Phillips? No
But how do you explain the negativity against West Ham in a game they weren't up for and was critical for us? How do you explain the bringing on of SWP, a decision he must have known would bring such a venomous reaction. And what about selecting players clearly out of position and out of their depth? All poor decisions.
So I won't be going into next season with the buzz of a new start which is a shame, but everyone starts somewhere and maybe he'll surprise everyone.

Austin beats QPR’s path to Wembley Way — report
at 00:07:09

I was holding my breath reading this. It wAs like I was back there. The clock stopping for those last 10 mins. That deflection at the death which nearly broke all our hearts. Those corners. One after the other after the other. What a night. Over 30 years of watching the Hoops and thIs is what it is all about. And because this type of event happens so infrequently if makes it all the more special than being, say, a Scum fan and taking it for granted.
One final point is for the 1st time this year if felt that was utter unity, a fantastic unbreakable team spirit. It was a great night. One final push now! COYRssss

Austin’s powerful brace moves QPR up to second — report
at 22:47:10

The first 25 mins or so were very uncomfortable watching. We were ponderous and looked disinterested. We could have been buried by then, but Huddersfield had been playing at a pace they couldn't continue and then we started looking the better team in my view. In the 2nd half, with the help of Phillips, who injected some pace and urgency, I thought we dominated and would win comfortably. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Suspect we will get to the end of the season and Harry still won't know what his starting 11 should be.
The incredible thing given our performances is that we have more points then we had at the same stage of our promotion season.

Arrest in Blackburn decline fails to mask deep seated issues — opposition focus

I had no idea about the signing of Jerome Anderson's son. Wow!
One other thing to mention is that most people probably don't even remember the way they bought themselves the league title some time back but at least they enjoyed success, the likes of which we shall never know. When you look at how the one time Champions have slipped to where they are now however, it gives me great hope that the Scum could go the same way one day.

Fernandes rubbishes £60m fine claims — diary
at 17:00:44

Ferguson said about Hogan ". He is a player I have admired for some time ". If he's admired him for some time why hasnt he come in for him earlier? It's not like Hogan has been part of Harry's plans. We all think quite a lot of Hogan following his performance in the 4 year plan, but he's been sitting taking wages for years with little interest shown and whatever loan deals he has had have not been extended. It all begs the question whether its him or QPR that have seen his career stall.

QPR bid farewell to the ‘anti-footballer’
at 15:14:33

Should always be remembered in a positive light for the way he conducted himself and gave his all for the cause. The flamboyant players and goal scorers tend to take the plaudits, but Derry is a great example to everyone of what good, honest footballers should be about. I wish him the best of luck at Notts County.

Faurlin’s El Guapo overshadows impressive QPR victory — report
at 09:58:29

I noticed the Derby players surrounding the ref at the end of the game. What they were complaining about God only knows. They had been allowed to attack Barton with impunity and in the last 10 mins the ref seemed to do whatever he could to help them equalise. However, I would echo a point made above that fair play to them for coming and having a go rather than going 10 men behind the ball.

QPR add style to function and sweep aside beleaguered Boro - report
at 08:49:03

Many players impress early on , eg Granero, but Kranjcar looks absolute class and way to good to be playing at our level. How the hell did we get him? Does he know we are in the Championship. Whereas Taarabt never knew when to pass, this fella knows exactly how to make us tick along and keep the momentum going. Hopefully much more to come.

Mbia heads for the exit as QPR prepare for Swindon visit — preview
at 08:50:47

The odd thing about the whole Mbia signing was that besides looking like a kidnap victim signing a confession (QPR contract against his will), he saw himself as a CM whereas we needed, and Hughes saw him as, a CB. So we put him at CB where he never looked comfortable, although in CM he was also less effective then he looks like he should have been.
All in all what seemed like a great signing turned out to look like signing a player without knowing what we were going to do with him.
I was thinking about the Bolton game and our ability to play out the last while without giving away countless opportunities. If Mbia was on the pitch I would have been more nervous about our ability to hold out, with his Wigan performance etched on my mind forever.
All in all i'm glad his gone.

QPR off to winning start as Sheff Wed pay penalty — match report
at 08:05:05

Had the ref have given the 2nd pen, whether or not Barton would have then have been sent off, every fan would have had a completely different view of him, there would have been an outpouring of abuse against Redknapp for picking him and our start of season would have a completely different complexion about it. It's a strange old game.

Johnson for me was without doubt the best player on show for us. His movement and touch is Premiership class and if he stays fit he will have a significant impact on our final position. I just hope other players can get on his wavelength because he creates opportunities for others with his movement and touch as well as himself, yet without Adel they will usually go unrewarded

Does Mackie sale tally with QPR’s ‘right sort’ rhetoric?
at 23:46:53

Evra also in our first season in the Prem couldn't handle Mackie if I recall.

I think it's a real shame he's gone when the Championship is certainly a division he will thrive in, but I think one of Jamie's biggest problems is that, despite the comments about giving fullbacks a torrid time, he is not a winger and he is not an out and out striker and Harry likes traditional wingers (not that we seem to have any!).

As a sub coming off the bench he is exceptionally effective with his energy and passion, but I guess he thinks he should be in the starting 11 and Harry doesn't. Will be interesting to see whether Forest start him but I wish him luck because he is without doubt the 'right sort'.

Great article and you're right this is a transfer which must not be forgotten. If I could ask one question of harry however, it would be what on earth he was doing both picking him at the end of last season and taking him on the pre-season trip to Cornwall. Good riddance anyway.
