 | Forum Thread | Rangers did the double at 15:11 1 Apr 2026
My dear departed Dad, long before he died, gave me a box of QPR and other assorted programmes. Prompted by another thread on here, I've finally decided to index what's there. It's a right old treasure trove, including loads of programmes from the war, and many seasons after that. Loads of interesting things for me including: They regularly played on Christmas Day during the 1940's On Boxing Day 1947 we played Watford away. On the 27th Dec we played Watford at home We played Willesden away a couple of times, to raise funds for the Middlesex Regiment War Memorial Fund. In the 1947 game there was a pitch invasion by the Willesden fans protesting about being deprived of access to their pitch! (I have a newspaper cutting - will see if I can upload it) In 1947-48 WE DID THE DOUBLE! Rangers were champions of Division 3 South and also won the Harry Newman Brentford Hospital Cup, beating Brentford in the final 1-0! We also got the Qtr final of the FA Cup that year, losing to Derby after a replay. The halcyon days. Loads more seasons to go through. Fascinating stuff Edit: Link to press cutting here https://jumpshare.com/share/Tj [Post edited 1 Apr 15:14]

Fair play - I had wondered if this was the case. I get broad church, everyone has an opinion etc. but when your main shtick seems to be to deliberately antagonise as many people as you can by quoting Nietzsche, using very elaborate sentence structures, generally passing yourself of as superior and other related sheiite then it's fair game. Ball played. Ball won. Man dismissed. Nice. |

I agree with this, and was having this same conversation with someone at HQ on Saturday. Also had a similar(respectful) exchange on X with another fan. The points about merging the roles, hiring someone so young and with no relevant experience etc. have been well made on here before. And that is the camp I find myself firmly in - not least because, like the guy on the Patreon Awaydays pod, I'm also a CEO of a company but did not achieve this until I was well into my late 40's. This seems pretty normal to me - decades of experience get you to this stage based on all the learnings you have which, hopefully, put you in good stead to succeed in the role. Appointing someone with zero experience just seems crazy to me. However, I like to think I can listen to reason, and try not to just stay ensconced in my position no matter what. The points being made back to definitely had some merit, and I try to bear those in mind and remain open minded as far as possible. But like you, I think I have taken a dislike to him - for the reasons stated but also because you just cannot trust a word he says. He may, ultimately be very trustworthy and become successful, but he does not help himself by his very peculiar communications strategy. A more experienced (thicker skinned?) operator would know that no CEO has all the answers. No CEO gets everything right. CEO's improve by making mistakes and learning form them. CEO's get buy in by being human, admitting mistakes, showing vulnerability (I could write you an essay on vulnerability based leadership) and most certainly NOT by pretending everything is great when it isn't. This for me now is the biggest problem. The inexperience is showing itself everyday, and punters like me see through the facade. Despite my attempts to be open minded, it's gonna take a hell of a shift for me to become a fully fledged member of the Nourry supporters club. And I reckon 90%+ of that is on him. |

Great listen - learned a few things from that. Thanks for sharing |

Really happy for Kone to get a brace today. At 4-1 I was feeling a bit sorry for him as he'd played well but if you're the main striker and haven't scored any of your teams 4 goals then you couldn't be blamed for feeling a little aggrieved. I was a bit worried for him when he stepped up for the pen but he buried it. And his 2nd was a great finish. Very happy for him. But Edwards just shaded it for me - thought he looked a cut above all game. |

something you said in here is really important in my view - the fact that you're getting cheesed off with it but will probably renew your season ticket anyway. I think a lot of people feel that way but end up still going to games. I don't currently have a ST but go to as many games I can. I've sworn never to go back so many times but somehow, still end up going even when the football is utter dross (which we have seen a lot of over the years). I wonder if the home crowds are staying relatively buoyant largely because people go out of habit, or don't have anything else they would rather do. If home crowds remain undepleted I suspect the club will take zero notice of reducing away support. I wish I could say that would be at their peril, but I suspect that's not the case as they seem not to give a damn about the fans home or away and they will continue getting the Sky money no matter what. Games gone mate, games gone (as my Dad used to say to me and I now say to my daughter). Fair play to all who went to Leicester - something to enjoy, finally, from out of nowhere |

It's all gone Pete again. We should not be surprised. But we're still allowed to be royally faaaaaacked off. The best thing about QPR right now is this website. And it's been that way for a very long time. I salute those going to the game tonight. I've been on a Leo in London and just got home. I may not be able to find the red button. Result. |

Thankfully I was away this weekend and couldn't go. But after the last few weeks I'm not sure I would've gone even if I had been able to. There is something deeply rotten within our club. And ultimately you have to point to the people appointing the staff and writing the checks. But it beggars belief that we don't hear a single peep out of the owners ever. Not one. Why on earth are they continuing to bankroll the club? It makes no sense to me and I can't see how they will ever get any kind of return. And the Steve Cook thing boils my piss. Anyway, thanks for the report - I think many would understand if you just posted a picture of a turd and left it at that |

Good report, thanks - pretty much how I saw it too. Was in two minds as to whether to go on Saturday or not after Tuesday - seems I took the wrong call. It all felt a bit spring, late season subdued, nobody could really be arsed right from the off, including the crowd. Not sure I want to spend my heard earned on that for too much longer. This season has flattered to deceive like many others - dodgy start followed by - hold on though here we go - we might have a couple of strikers here - could we make a push for the play offs???? - followed by, oh. No of course not. |
 | Forum Reply | Three game week - the modern excuse at 12:35 1 Mar 2026
I reckon this is all nonsense, but you can let it become an issue if everyone tells you it's an issue. Sub consciously, we may well find ourselves a few percentage points below par in a 3 game week, but it's not 'cos of any physical limitations - it's all in the head. |

yea agree with this - atmosphere was pretty subdued right from the start I thought. Definitely a feeling of going through the motions both on and off the pitch |
