Southampton Issue Club Statement On Their Position

There has been a lot of calls for Tonda Eckert to be sacked. Can we just take a minute to think about this. Eckert has proven he is a good manager. I can give him the benefit of the doubt about knowing the rule about watching opponents before a match. It is not an offence in Germany and I believe other continental countries as well. If we sack him he will walk into another club in Germany and it will have no affect on him. We will lose a proven manager and probably end up with a poor replacement. I say give him a chance to make amends.

Half our players will be poached by the premier league. We will need to replace them what player worth anything will sign for us? The manager will go and what manager in his right mind will take us on? Season ticket sales will plummet. Ticket prices will increase to cover the losses. Start with a deficit of four points.
