Cooper appointment recovers Forest from nightmare start - Interview
at 19:17:29

An awful lot of managers with a decent reputation have gone to Forest and left with their arse hanging out of their trousers. At some point you think "maybe it's the club"....

Paint by numbers - Report
at 23:08:42

You could comment on Rangers, how Amos is left to be a one man midfield, how our main assist/goal man is forced so deep, how our two strikers are so far apart they may as well communicate by 2nd class post... Or you could comment on Sunderland, who put out a team which was young, fit and quick, three qualities not seen in a Sunderland side for about 15 years. Well done them, and good luck next round. But that would be like saying "apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?" The big decision that turned the game was a Halloween horror show by referee Frankenstroud and his team of partially sighted assistants (all part of the FA's diversity drive, I understand. Way to go.) An absolute monster of a decision, one of the worst ever. We await the apologetic letter which will no doubt make us all feel better.
And before I forget, top marks Clive for putting that piece out and managing something that could be seen before the nine o'clock threshold.

All the time in the world - Report
at 10:51:43

Lyndon McDykes was absolutely immense, monstering their defenders all afternoon, two (repeat two) goals, an assist and defending the last ditch at 3-2. Must have been an enjoyable report to write, leaving PNE supporters looking a bit like their defender when Dunne collected the ball in their net, certainly another enjoyable read.

Chair's redemption double dose gets QPR back on the horse - Report
at 21:01:01

Big Mick played 5 centre backs on Saturday for Cardiff. Thank God we keep playing football, win or lose. Thought the word there was "pragmatic" - boss picks team from those available, to a system that suits them (unlike against Barnsley) to get a result (clean sheet, score) by whatever means available. Job done. We can polish the ideals at our leisure. (No reference at all to Labour conference there...)

This is getting serious – Signing

The north east Norway origin certainly explains the tash. Obviously a tribute to the local marine mammal population, one of whose number has kept me amused all summer as a series of boaters tear their hair out while another dinghy goes under. Wally has like Stef decided there are better places to live than the coast of north Norway in wintertime. Welcome both!!

The season preview revisited – Column

"There's something about these modern progressive managers that makes them overthink their big occasion when it arrives..."
Brilliant, Clive. You call most of the Championship (well nobody could have predicted the utter mess at Derby) and then call the Champions League final right as well. Top marks!

The end of the beginning – Report

All the long suffering Rs fans really deserved that second half of the season and final match, but none more so than your good self, Clive. Thanks for all of it and roll on August. (When we welcome back Conor Masterson, LTC, Luke Amos and perhaps a stronger⁵ Mac Bonne after a full pre-season, so there you go, some useful reinforcements already.)

Job well done - Interview

Luton's away form is very good. This is a difficult match, no end of season knockabout. My Luton supporting friend will give me no end of gip if they win, so purleeze you Rs do me a favour.

Frustration to thrills, disaster to delight, one extreme to another - Report

This was exactly the muck and nettles performance the team and of course long suffering supporters needed after the Rotherham debacle (two games lost to nil since - we did a good job softening them up 🙄) . I hope Uncle Neil appreciated it. I certainly did. You Rs!!
Clive, this season you have absolutely smashed it. Hat off.

The annual Nottingham Forest post mortem – Interview
at 22:57:32

Forest fans have certainly had a lot to put up with (even by QPR standards). 40+ years ago I spent time working in Nottingham, and was actully there on a misty night by the Trent when they beat Barcelona in the European super cup. A wonderful occasion and the Shippies tasted good afterwards. Good luck to them, but not on Monday obviously. My whiskers did twitch at the weakness at full back - quite like the sound of that!! Bring on the flying wing backs.....

Never a moment’s doubt – Report

Sometimes you get a bit of luck, on this occasion Warbs had Lady Luck herself sitting in his lap and ruffling his non existent hair. How Mwall did not go 3 or 4 goals up, I don't know. BUT. They didn't. One sublime moment from the kMomentum, momentum. As for that De Wijs, when he retires he will have a very decent career playing the utterly terrifying east European villain in the cop shows. Line of duty beckons - for now (Back) line of duty for Rangers will do very nicely.

The curse of the QPR shirt sponsor – Preview

Must admit I thought the club should have seen a wrong un coming in the door there. When a money making idea looks too good to be true, it usually is. (And I'm no expert. Managed to put most of my retirement pot in the Anglo Irish bank a few weeks before it went belly up. Thank the lord the Irish people and government did the decent thing and I still have it!)

Birmingham late show stuns below par QPR - Report
at 20:44:44

My thought is, it's always a judgement between managing the squad and getting a result. On this occasion, 10 minutes from a great week on the road, got it wrong I'm afraid. Doesn't mean I'm joining the keyboard warriors. Way too old for that.

Birmingham late show stuns below par QPR - Report
at 19:33:21

Whatever happened to taking one game at a time? I accept the difficulty of the schedule, changes to lineup completely understood, but I'm sorry, taking off your two most threatening attackers after less than an hour is bordering on complacent. There's a goal and three points to defend. Austin should stay there on one leg if necessary. Take this one home and he can have two weeks off if he likes. 12th place beckons. I'm afraid we starting thinking about the next game about 25 minutes too early, and paid the price.

Resurgent Rangers finally have their Field day – Report
at 20:57:55

In recent years this has been a one sided derby, Brentford nursing 50 years of hurt, Rangers thinking "who are these people?" But after a series of shellackings on our own patch, this time management and team opened the window at half time and yelled "I'm mad as hell! And I'm not taking it any more!" And boy it was good to see.

You could argue that if we'd hung onto Eze as assist man to Dykes and Bonne things would look very different. On the other hand, if we hadn't sold Eze they wouldn't be here in the first place.... We are truly between a rock and a (very) hard place. So let's cling to the rock.

Ongoing home woes stall Rangers' recent progress - Report
at 12:11:51

Well that was a bitter pill to swallow. My laptop nearly came to grief at the sight of the smirking pair at the end. But they had a plan, not the most fiendish, and stuck to it while we were reduced to hit and hope. The subs would have made perfect sense if 1-0 up but none to me at 0-1. Why keep 5 defenders on until 82 mins (even with them all out there no-one picked up the lumbering cart horse K-R) (bitter, moi?), and why take off your main goal threat just as you (finally) send on your winger? Sorry to say I think I saw the sponge being thrown in there.
