He does indeed and you are absolutely correct, they are! I had the pleasure of chatting with Machel over many beers in Broomfields after Bromley secured the League Two title and he really is a fantastic person to chat football with, as well as just being an absolute top fella all round.
Bromley are my local team and I watch them regularly. In fact I probably know as much about their squad as ours!
Andy Woodman admitted after the game that it was a mistake from a Bromley POV to have these 2 split squad games on consecutive days. They’re very light at the back at the moment (a couple more CB signings are expected) with first choice goalie Grant Smith currently out injured and new CB signing Deon Woodman picking up a potentially long term injury in midweek. Of the back 5 that played tonight, only Chanse Headman has any real chance of starting the first game. Dillon Addai is the 3rd choice keeper and the two full backs are teenage academy players.
It was still a surprisingly poor defensive display from Bromley, especially as all these players were involved in the recent pre season games against Palace (3-0 win) and Millwall (1-1 draw), both of whom fielded plenty of first team squad players.
But I still think a lot of credit is due to our players for making them look so poor. Some of our football was a joy to watch - and Machel St Patrick Hewitt (From Bromley With Love website - the Bromley version of Clive basically!) - said as much as (see the video I posted last night.)
Isak did get caught in possession early in the game and was lucky that Brom didn't make more of it.
But from that point on he was probably the best player on the pitch and, along with Illy, absolutely ran the show - and just a bar width away from scoring a second worldie!

However, if Villa finish in the top 4 and win the Europa League England essentially forfeits its Europa League winner’s CL spot snd only 5 English teams will be in CL. No other scenario can Chelsea finish 6th and qualify for CL.

Looking to pass on my dad's collection of old QPR programmes (see pic below) after a garage clear-out and obviously we’d much prefer them to go to a good home with a fellow fan rather than just storing/throwing them away.
There are 6 boxes in total, averaging about 10kg per box, and ideally we’re looking for someone to take the whole lot. We’re not asking for money – just someone who will appreciate them.
The programmes are mainly from the 70s, 80s and 90s – mostly home matches, with some away games, plus a few random programmes from other clubs mixed in.
If you’re based in South or West London, I may be able to drop them off at your address. Alternatively we could arrange a car boot–style handover somewhere mutually convenient.
A lot of Obikwu’s appearances have been off the bench so that ratio is actually a bit deceptive. Across his two loan spells at Grimsby and Lincoln he’s averaged a goal every 175 minutes, essentially a goal every 2 matches.
Did the same double header as you Paddox. Five goal thriller and a win and then walked down to the Apollo, stopping for a ruby on the way. Did think life doesn’t get much better than this! Baxter was on great form, gig was a triumph. Nice to see a generation-spanning crowd too. Got a bit mental at the front (in a good way) when he played Allbarone! Top night!
I was very sceptical of the RND signing but I have to say he’s proved an upgrade on Paal and would be pretty happy to see him signed permanently. Very solid LB for this level.
Heading to Hammersmith Apollo after today’s game - first time for me to see Baxter live. Can’t wait. New album is terrific - heartening to see a fellow middle-aged geezer peaking in their early 50s☺️
Sure, but Varane is a Martinique international and Burrell is a Jamaican international, so 11 players who can/do represent 11 different countries internationally🙂
Yeah, pleased for them both, although I’ll be hoping that unbeaten run comes to an end next week when Ainsworth brings his side to my local/2nd team Bromley - the only other unbeaten side left in League 2. Andy Woodman continuing to do an incredible job there.
You can’t really see it in these shots but from the camera angle behind our goal I was fairly sure that it was actually Esquerdinha that wins the ball in the challenge with Campbell and pokes it through to Saito, so technically his assist!
