QPR ride luck to break Fulham duck despite Mason’s efforts — Report
at 15:03:59

I heard we were lucky but after reading this report it seems to be a miracle we came away with the points. Still hopefully it will kick start our season. Lol. Of course it won't!

As was mentioned here previously anything positive one week never seems to be built on the next. We just never seem to get it right. Finally we play two up front but with Henry in the starting line up. Eh?! How does that work.

Talking of not getting it right - Whilst it is great to see us playing away in hoops who came up with this kit? I understand the idea of resting the DTM kit for financial reasons but I can't believe anyone is buying this black and moldy cheese blue kit in great numbers? Black and white on the other hand would have been awesome and I am sure would have sold well. :-). Red trim on the home shirts anyone. :-/ All opinions I guess.

At least this result will put the Jimmy Floyd Hasseledbutwhatitriedtobank 'scandal' out of mind for a while.

Come on Rangers kick on from here!!

Phillips' wonder strike sugars bitter pill — report
at 01:41:24

And there it was 10 minutes from time and we are so devoid of an attacking threat that we are reduced to shooting from 45 yards out. The ball whistles into the top of the stand and to a man the Rangers fans stand up and leave throwing their season tickets and scarves behind them as they go. BUT no Matty Philips has another idea. He's very, very angry and in one glorious moment the frustration he feels and the frustration of a thousand Rangers fans, channels into his right leg . The frustration of being humiliated by a club with nowhere near our resources, the frustration of all the season long missed oppertunities, the frustration of no committment away from home, the frustration of Redknapp's early season tedious list of excuses, the frustration of players being played out of position, the frustration of years of shocking management at all levels, the frustration that Fernandes 'writing the debt off loophole' will not actually work after all AND finally the frustration that Charlie Austin, the one bright light in a truly dismal season, will not be around next campaign. And as the ball hit the back of the net it felt good, very good. A fleeting release of all of that angst. The sort of feeling you get when after spending all day trying, but failing, to get the flat pack Ikea furniture doors to close you finally give up and smash the whole thing to pieces with a hammer. Phillipps I salute you. You gave us all 30 seconds respite from the tedium. If only the passion and swagger you showed in that all too brief moment had been with the team all season long how different things would be.

Same old, same old from travel-sick Rangers - report
at 21:49:49

Excellent report as always. You always watch the same game as me!

I didn't post at the weekend as I didn't want to rain on the full steam ahead parade that beating Leicester had seemingly created. Some even posted that you report was overly mocking. I thought that was ridiculous. You just told it how it was but put a positive, not to say fun, spin on what most of know was one of the most tactically inept displays of football we have ever seen. We won on Sat by admirable determination AND a massive slice of luck. Football can be more Poker than Roulette Harry it really can.

Saturday 29th Nov - 'So boss what is the game plan for today' HR - 'Everyone do what you want and hopefully we will win'

Tuesday 2nd Dec - 'So boss what is the game plan for tonight' HR - 'Everyone panic from start to finish'

We were so outclassed last night is was frightening. No one played with any composure at all. BUT what makes these two games so frustrating is we are much better than this. Yes we lost to Chelsea but at least we looked organised and made them really have to work for any clear cut chances. Last night it was 'help yourself chaps, oh you missed, never mind here is the ball back, have another go'. Thank God for Green having an inspired night otherwise this could easily have been another 5 or 6 nil defeat.

Where has the Liverpool home form gone. Yes we lost but we know that was a freak. This Sat if we play against Burnley how we played against Liverpool......4 - 0 to us and no blood dripping off the tips of my fingers. Play on Sat like we played against Leicester.......who knows, toss a coin in the air someone.

I guess if we had got what we deserved against Chelsea and Liverpool it would have been a massive turning point and confidence would be so much higher. Maybe that explains last night. But it just so frustrating to see us seemingly, once again, to have no game plan at all. Has Sandro's and Zamora's absence ruined everything? Even Sat, after somehow getting to half time in the lead, did Harry tactically change the set up to fill the holes and slow the game down? Er no, seemingly said nothing. And when is he going to stop making excuses for everything! Apparently now he is saying the fixture list and quality of the opposition has conspired against us! Streuth!

But even through all this I still have a sense that getting away from the bottom 3 will free up the undouted talent in our team's legs. And Sat gives us this opportunity. Rodney has even gone so far as to say if we win Sat we stay up!!!! Hope you are right there Legend.

Come on you R's you are much better than this.

'Modern day penalty' robs QPR of Chelsea scalp - report
at 20:10:26

Dear Footballing Gods,

After the heartache of the Liverpool game, and then the injustice of not getting a draw from this game, can we now call it even versus the smash and grab of the play off final.

We have shown humility and grace over the Derby game (well from the Sunday after the match at least, ahem) but we have paid our dues now surely. So 'are we cool'?

Yours Sincerely.....

Very proud of the team. Work rate was first class. We have a plan with Zamora on the pitch and a plan when he is not. Yes Vargas was really naïve and Hazard knew what he was doing but what a breath of fresh air him and Suk Young have been. Their energy is so infectious and has really rubbed off on the rest of the team.

The single most pleasing thing on Sat is that we were prepared to play the ball out of defence and did not keep immediately conceding possession by lumping it up the pitch. I have said it many times on here but it is very hard for the opposition to score when you have the ball!! A fact seemingly lost on many occasion with us

We just played one of the best teams in the world away from home and feel aggrieved we didn't at least get a draw. A moment of genius and a moment of naivety were the difference rather than a complete lack of effort. How far we have come in a few weeks. Long may it continue. Exciting times ahead methinks chaps!

Lacking ideas, shape, commitment or a plan, QPR lose limply at West Ham - report
at 02:39:57

The highlights of this game should be in black and white with 1950's horror movie graphics over the top. 'Be Afraid', 'Chilling', 'A Real Horrorfest Coming To A Ground Near You Soon' etc, etc. I watched it as such, metaphorically from behind the sofa through the gap in my fingers. My other club supporting friends over the last few days have just phoned up and laughed. No words needed to be exchanged as we all know what they mean. Anyone who does suck any positives out of this game is not taking into account that West Ham weren't really trying. And how do we repeatedly go into games with no gameplan, as far as I can see, is shocking at this level?!

What is it about QPR that sucks the mojo out of good players. Yes Caulker was probably our best player on the day but even he looks frightened and half the player he was last season.

And Harry show some passion for pet's sake chap! I think the mobile phone call he received during the first half was from the 'Excuses R Us Hotline' saying he had exceeded his limit already this month and did he want to pay for a top up.

You want the players to be slaughtered by the press and the fans and take that anger/humiliation and use it to create a fire in their belly and come out all guns blazing for the next game. To stand tall and act like men...... I really hope I am wrong but I just can't see it.

'3 chins' record managing QPR is played 30 won 6 I believe. Got to love that 'stability'!!!!

Come on Rangers find some passion and pride, please, otherwise after the next batch of games we could be a drift at the bottom of the league. TF time for big decisions chap!!

Out of form QPR pick up another defeat, and injury, at Southampton — report
at 20:22:45

That all sounds a bit alarming Clive. Haven't been to an away game for a while, hard to muster the enthusiasm, but however frustrating supporting this club is there is no place for racist songs and aggressive behaviour. QPR football of the 70's yes please all the other nonsense that went with it er NO.

There is a saying in Poker that if you can't see the sucker at the table then you are the sucker. I hope I am wrong and it isn't us but every other premier game I watch on the TV, highlights or otherwise, all the other teams look more organised than us, more committed than us and the thing that seems really noticeable, much faster than us. It is becoming so frustrating to see teams like Swansea and Southampton, who have nowhere near our resources, thriving while we just look shambolic, slow and unorganised. What is it going to take for this club to become a serious proposition in this league? On and off the pitch.

The only silver lining is that 3 points will still march you up the league but we need to work really hard grinding out games for a while and hopefully by Christmas we can start to play with a bit of flair as well, if/when the defence gets organised.

Finally if you look at the goals scored against us. Rio is at fault for quite a few. He is just not on the pace or strong enough at the moment. Time for a change maybe. What does his contract allow!! :-)

Hughes return adds spice, but QPR have other points to prove - preview
at 23:22:19

I totally agree with Owen. Harry's tactics away from home are completely baffling! To call a match in the premiership a 'bonus game' is ridiculous. Harry there are just er 'games'. Games that you try and figure out a way to win. Simple as that. Not play to not lose as you will then more often than not er lose. Plus it is the connotation that bonus means 'doesn't matter'. Surely if we must do the 'bonus game' thing that has to mean throwing caution to the wind and doing everything we can to win and if we don't well it wasn't expected. Surely that equals 'bonus' and I would be happy with that mentality against the top 6 away from home. But 'bonus' as in unimportant is like getting a free hit (can't be caught out) after a no ball in 20-20 cricket and..... blocking it!!!!!!

QPR the perfect party guests once more — report
at 02:57:46

We were like the Washington Generals to their Harlem Globetrotters. Stooges following a script to make them look good. It was pathetic. As you said Clive Swansea etc had written the book on how to play Man U at their place but somehow we knew better! The crowd was nervous, their players tentative and the manager close to a nervous breakdown. Surely our team talk pre game was. 'Get after them from the get go, exploit this weakness, smash them physically and mentally........but the Redknapp says...... no '2 banks of 5 lads and give them 20 mins to relax and gain confidence, ok.' Pathetic.

I am certain we have got a good team here waiting to get out but Harry/Hoddle take the shackles off them and let them play. Please.

And can anyone on here enlighten me on this post match comment made by HR. I have studied it from many different angles but end up with what can only be described as an Ice Cream headache. “I thought we’d get in at 1-0, but suddenly there were two more goals before half-time and we were 3-0 down, and I don’t think our keeper had too many saves to make.'' Can anyone help me out here. It is causing me sleepless nights.

Come on Rangers if we are going to die lets at least die with our turquoise and lime green polka dot boots on!!!!!!!

Someone said on here after the Tottenham game. 'Please Rangers don't do this to us again'. Well hold on to your hats everyone their doing it to us again!!

Good piece of writing again Clive I don't know how you keep mustering the enthusiasm. Literary Therapy maybe?! I said to my mate earlier today that if I gave up supporting this club and spent the money instead on a 20 a day smoking habit my life expectancy would go up!

It was all looking so good, albeit briefly. If we could just have gotten the result we deserved against Hull then how different things would be. But already we are back to finger pointing. And how long before cliques appear and the whole thing completely implodes again. The secret for newly promoted teams is to bounce back week after week, regardless of the previous poor result, and give 100%, 100% of the time again. Then you have a chance of being 5/6 from bottom rather than relegated. But can we ever do that at this club.

So sorry for Ale. For him and for us. Especially as even Harry was starting to FINALLY realise he was the number one centre midfield option.

The only positives I can see is Yun will hopefully get his chance at left wing back. Although pre-season makes this seem totally illogical. He deserves his chance though. And with Remy off Adel probably reappears as a starter. Who would have thought that 1 week ago. I have to be honest he would be the first name on my team sheet regardless of all his defensive faults. Oh and I would be happy to get Niko back if he can play every week like he did in the second leg against Wigan.

Hang in there everyone you didn't really believe it was going to be fun and exciting season did you?

Excuses stack up as Wednesday expose some home truths — report
at 22:05:42

I haven't posted on this website all season but have still enjoyed reading all the match reports. However thought is was time to throw this into the mix.

We certainly are not a good team now BUT let's not kid ourselves we haven't been a good team all season. The games we have won have been a complete and utter grind with Mr Austin getting a vital touch at some point during the game to take the points. Now we have Mr Morrison to take on that role. Even the games we have scored 3 have had a massive element of good fortune about them, they were never convincing. But in a league of shockingly average teams at least we do have the goals in the team to at least keep us in the hunt. So grit your teeth everyone, keep positive, accept it is the play offs at best, accept the football we will watch until then will make you want to stab yourself in the eye with a blunt pencil to relieve the bordem BUT please support this average bunch of misfits until the bitter end.

It won't be pretty or entertaining but we still have a chance of grinding our way back to the promised land. Hang in there boys, this is when we need to sing louder and with more passion. Then whatever happens from now to the end of the season we will know we gave all we could. Hopefully the players will follow our lead.

How's your luck? QPR nab Burnley striker Austin
at 15:42:39

Well if he had forgotten about the injury since age 7 and it hasn't caused a problem since??!! All good surely :-).

I am really excited about this signing. Best signing since Faurlin. Let's just hope the paperwork is not hitting the shredders as we speak! If Taraabt can stop acting like a spoilt child and sort out his differences with Harry (and get fit) added to HR finding a place for Faurlin to play regularly.................and if we can by some miracle get Townsend back.....These 3 behind Mr Austin!!!! Now that would tear any Championship defence to shreds. Where there's hope.....:-)

Last-gasp Maloney strike devastates QPR — full match report
at 01:08:05

It's getting harder and harder to justify the amount of money and emotion I invest into such a bunch of morons. From Sambas display last week, to Zamoras karate kick, to Mbias sensless barge and finally Taraabt ducking out the way of a last gasp freekick...........

It hit me like a steamtrain at the final whistle yesterday. Following QPR gives me no pleasure whatsoever!! None!! And I pay for it!!!!!

Alright a bit melodramatic but, apart from watching Townsend and Remy, experiencing the tedium of the inevitable self destruction week in week out is just not worth it anymore. It's like dating a girl who constantly cheats on you and the rest of the time kicks you in the testicles.

So I'm out.

But....

Ok I will give her one more chance us the next time she kicks me in the nads she might be wearing softer shoes. Slippers maybe. Maybe she will tag in Zamora who will miss my balls completely. No forget that he will miss but kick me in the head instead...................................

Mackie’s best efforts in vain as Villa game slips away — full match report
at 03:40:38

Another game, another disappointment. Simple as that.

I was having a nostalgia moment Saturday morning, thinking back to the joy and excitement of the day the FA deemed that enough paperwork had been shredded to allow us to be champions of the Championship. After this thought the next one was how the bl**dy hell in one and a half seasons have we ended up in the situation we are in now!!?? In fact had you gone to a fortune teller the day after our triumph and she had told you that within a season and a half QPR would have a new owner, sacked the manager that got us into the Premier league, sacked his predecessor, spent a fortune on 'superstar' players and yet we would be sitting adrift at the bottom of the league without a win to our name after 15 games........well not only would you have fallen about laughing over the far fetched load of nonsense you had just heard but you would also have contemplated reporting Gypsy Lee to the local mental health authorities. Yet here we are. What must TF be thinking? I hope he is in for the long haul. The very long haul.

You say in your report Clive that Harry Redknapp needs to start rebuilding, which should sound ridiculous after the money we have spent, yet it's true. We have royally screwed up a golden oppertunity. In fact in the history of 'rangers screwing up golden oppertunities', which let's face it we are very good at, this is the one that has bothered me the most. Great owner with passion and lots of money should have led to established prem status and potential European football. Yet back to the Championship here we come.

I know this is not my normal 'we can do this with big balls and lionhearts' rhetoric. And I still have a romantic notion that we will grow a pair and claw our way out of this situation. But my head says that if the 'new manager syndrome' could only amount to two tired looking draws from this bunch of players........... and that coupled to the fact that I doubt TF will be prepared to spend in January (who could blame him) means it's probably going to be a really painful 6 months ahead. In fact I am not even sure if this lot will die with their boots on. Paisley patterned slippers and a mug of cocco for most of this lot as they ride away in the lifeboats to half decent European teams leaving Adel, Mackie, Nelson and Hill drowning in their wake leaving them thinking the same as us....'what the f**k just happened'.

QPR rediscover their soul a week too late for Hughes — full match report
at 12:30:38

Clive I wish your list was a bit longer regarding people who should start before Bosingwa. I am still worried that with a catastophic run of injuries there still is a chance he might get back in the team!!

This was the first game I have not seen but we played with more heart during the highlights on MOTD than the rest of the season combined. Redknapp has alredy said he will not tolerate any slacking whatsoever. Praise the lord. Only the players with lionhearts need to bother turning up for the rest of the season the rest can f**k off.

It's about us forgetting the table and to just focus on fighting 100% every game til the end of the season. It's about holding our nerve AND THAT INCLUDES US! As long as Hill, Dyer, Mackie, Nelson are first on the teamsheet I will sing my heart out and encourage for the rest of the season. Hang in there boys, if we get out of this one it's gonna feel amazing.

On a lighter note it was hilarious to see MU following in the greatest Madame Tussauds tradition in unveilng a statue that did not look even remotely like the person it was supposed to represnt! Highlight of this weeks MOTD for me. Couldn't stop laughing.

In Harry I trust.

Com on you R's!!

Hung by his own players, Hughes now in untenable position — full match report
at 02:32:41

Well chaps, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse......

I believe you said last year Clive that we were a combination of 'not very good and not very lucky'. Up until this weekend I thought the new mantra could be that we are a combination of 'not too bad but with moments of utter calamity'.

I do not think that now.

I had posted on here earlier in the year that I thought that we lacked belief and always looked like the team who would blink first. Stoke last week is a good case in point. But even I did not expect to see the utter balless, pathetic, passionless pile of sh*t I witnessed Saturday.

The only word for it was a complete 'disgrace'. It felt that the players were almost taking the p*ss out of us. And I have never felt that watching a game of football ever. Where was the fight?

I often think back to the Tottenham game. We played so well. And without the two minutes of 'calamity' we would have won the game. Confidence would have been high. We would probably be sitting mid-table now with TF thinking about buying a few new faces to push for Europe next season.(Put in noise of needle being scratched off record here). Of course this is QPR and there is never going to be a fairytale ending, but I never expected a few weeks later to witness the sort of performance I saw on Saturday. No passion whatsoever. No understanding of the history, the previous players, the effort the fans make week in week out. I think if you went up to Bosingwa and mentioned Stan, Les and Rodney he would probably say he thought Hardy was the funnier guy, Blankety Blank was off the chart and he's never missed an episode of 'Only Fools and Horses'!

We all know the weight of being bottom of the league sucks all the talent out of your legs and so it then comes down to heart. But this lot looked like they have already given up. We must get Hill alongside Nelson as the centreback pairing. Derry in front and Mackie, Adel and Dyer, if injury free, must play. We are in the trenches now boys and need players who have the stones for the challenge. THIS IS SPARTA.

P.S. Hearing that Zamora doesn't eat with the team anymore, which therefore leaves a left over meal for another teamate, has at least shed light on the mystery of Anton Ferdinands ever expanding backside.

Hughes sleeps soundly as Reading six pointer approaches — full match preview
at 14:46:49

Really funny pre-game report. You have vented the frustration we all feel.

I am still in the 'keep Hughes for stability' camp but if he insists, yet again, on playing SWP over anyone else I will start edging towards the 'time to phone Harry' camp.

We all looked at the Team sheet for Everton and thought 'finally a decent/balanced starting line up'. But I do not think it was any great tactical know how from Hughes. I think he stumbled into it through injuries. Adel was not even on the bench a few weeks ago! Hopefully Jamie Mackie's run at the death last week will get him a start. In fact that run was further and more controlled than SWP's total dribbling stats since he joined us!

Seriously though what has happened to KT??!! Anyone know? I thought he would be a starter after his 2 performances. We need that guy!!

Come on Rangers!

I believe the penny has dropped and MH realises he can not leave Adel out anymore, home or away. BUT if SWP starts over Hoilett again........................................
I would also jig the team to get JSP out and Dyer in. The two games he has played in so far he was our best player. I still think we are a mid-table team but our confidence was knocked out of us after playing so well and then losing to Spurs. How different things would be if we had held on and............... Nah forget all that b**llocks. It's all about mental toughness and focusing on the next game. Let's hope Stan, Oliver, Abbott and Costello do not turn up again in defence and we can kick start our season.

QPR hunt first win under the Monday night lights — full match preview
at 00:55:02

You hit the nail on the head - we have to hold our nerve. We are playing the best football we have played in a long while and although we have been a bit naive at times and a tad unlucky we also have not taken our chances. Zamora has made a solid start but I still think he could be doing better. Especially in making better passes in the final 3rd. I feel it's all about to click and a 3 or 4 nil victory is just around the corner. Hopefully later today!!

People calling for the managers head just as everything is falling (finally) into place is ridiculous. The way we are playing will reap us a mid-table finish as long as we do not panic and lose confidence in what we are doing.

C'mon u R's!

Spurs’ mad minute stuns improving QPR — full match report
at 14:15:28

I thought we were excellent!

Best performance since Newcastle at home last season. It was so refreshing to see us believe in ourselves and take the fight to the opposition. I agree that if it was not for the outstanding Friedel we would have been 2 or 3 up by the break. I just hope we continue to play like this away from home for the rest of the season and do not lose confidence from the sucker punch we received.

The three injuries 'forced' Hughes in to picking a better team. Hoillett, Hill and especially Dyer were outstanding. Every time Dyer got the ball he injected speed and focus into our attacks.

All in all it was a brilliant game of football, played in a good spirit, refereed superbly and without a shadow of a doubt.............the best team lost.
