Absolutely hilarious to see Tuchel basically telling off the post match interview for suggesting they lacked mentality. Agree on Eze, part of the charm that he takes everything so easily/casually doesnât seem to gel internationally. |

The end of this match report? https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/ âWe can, and have, and will again, talk about the parking in disabled spaces, the shagging a team mateâs wife behind his own wifeâs back, the using his position as England captain to make yet more money by hawking out Wembley boxes on the side at ÂŁ4k a throw, the using his position as Chelsea captain to make yet more money by running dodgy bootleg tours of Cobham, the propensity to piss in pint glasses in nightclubs and then cob it all over the dance floor, the drunken abuse of distraught American tourists near Heathrow Airport when heâd used 9/11 as a chance for an all day drink up, his dadâs c*caine dealing, his mumâs shop-lifting, going up to collect a cup in full kit and shin pads at the end of a final he'd missed through suspension for deliberately kicking an opponent in the back, and that monstrous moment of hubris and ego when he stopped a Premier League game at a time pre-arranged (by him, at his suggestion, for his idea) so he could leave the field to a standing ovation in the same minute as his shirt number. But for now, on this Tuesday, all that mattered was his performance: dominated in both boxes by Matt Smith, who seemed to have made it his mission to head every Aston Villa corner away by himself; repeatedly tricked and humiliated by Ebere Eze on his second ever league start. Turning slower than milk and with the same acceleration as the average three bed semi, he was saved from further humiliation only by the more mobile James Chester alongside him. Chester got his reward for doing the job of two men by hooking in an injury time corner to make it 3-1 which sparked a brief panic during which Smithies saved well from Adomah but eventually proved scant consolation. Terry, face like thunder, had only the QPR fans in his ear for company. We may face him again one day and he may play better than this. He may well beat us, and celebrate in front of us, and send out pithy Instagram pictures about how he always beats QPR (this was actually the third time Rangers have beaten Terryâs team in seven league games with a draw chucked in there as well) and weâll have to suck that up. He could well be lifting a play-off trophy for Villa in two monthsâ time. But for now we have this wonderful Tuesday, and heâll always be the England international captain who called one of our players a âf*cking black c***â on the pitch during a game.â |

I agree with the original posterâs sentiment that you always want more of a good thing. Everyone would love to have a genuine 10+ goal a striker and we might have two on our hands. Chances and goals seem to have come easier to Rumarn for a multitude of reasons but I have faith that Kone will get there too (and thatâs not to say iâm not already loving him). |

Of course, youâre absolutely entitled to your view and to disagree with others. But i think that of what you mention, âwhat he does and doesnât sayâ is a very fair criticism that those who criticise, make. Firstly because thatâs a critical part of the job description and secondly because there is some very fair criticism to make of the way that he has personally and as part of the organisation put information across. |

Positives to take, Walsh looked solid, Dunne had a standout defensive performance. I thought Adamson showed sparks of promise. Negatives, well it was pretty awful going forward and the teams could have just shaken hands and saved us all the 90 minutes. |

On a different note⌠Really liking the refereeing in the Sheff Utd - Ipswich game. Letting the game flow and as a result thereâs some breakneck play and entertainment. You donât often praise championship referees so I felt like itâs worth saying when thereâs some praise to be had! |

Unfortunately i donât doubt he wonât. Probably in his head this is our fault for not backing the team well enough after the first few goals. This obsession with a long term project, with development, missing the basics like fcking match fitness, never his fault, always someone elses. Availability top notch, plymouth game a great learning opportunity. Pay your cash to watch your club collapse and be happy, because heâs âcookingâ |

While it isnât a factor in the result here, another weak as piss referee whoâs not keen to make a single decision he might face opposition to or let a game develop. Early as the first 10 minutes he was blowing for a misplaced throw in by about three yards. |

Need to make this like Watford last season now and get another in the next 10-15 to take the wind out their sails. Not sure the kids are going to be quite as adept at it though. [Post edited 12 Aug 2025 20:57]

My jaw dropped when I heard that. Not even the leg that was suffering for her this game. |
