I can't see Quarshie stepping up for a while yet. While Eckert has been great at helping players perform at their best, it would take a big step up in ability and performance for Quarshie to be ready. Hopefully we either don't sell THB and Wood plays well enough for Eckert to see he is better than Stephens and a better partner for THB, or we bring in a quality CB in place of THB.
The problem, however, is that both THB and Wood are considered better in the right CB berth, while Stephens and Quarshie typically play as left CBs. |

There are several issues that will make it hard to sell many of those players, but in particular:
* Wages - especially Ramsdale
* Recent performances - especially. Brereton-Diaz, Bazunu, Downs and Archer.
The one with the most potential to come good and realise his potential is probably Sugawara who was great for us until Martin and others undermined his confidence. |

Just to follow up my previous comment and respond to what Mesher has said. It appears that he is right that they have rotated the training pitches that they use, but he is incorrect about the distance from the footpath to the training pitch. In fact, the footpath is a matter of about ten metres from one of the pitches at its nearest point! It is about 500 metres or so from the gate featured in the spygate picture from the Daily Mail. The pitches are spread between those two points but the nearest pitch to the gate is about 100 metres away, whereas the nearest pitch to the footpath is only a few metres. |

I'm quite happy to be identified as the fan in the North East who originally posted the claims repeated in this post and OK with TUI using the content of my original post. Since I posted my observations, though, I have found out a bit more and must adjust the opinion I expressed a few days ago slightly.
I stand by the assertion that he wouldn't have been able to get a very good view from that gate. However, I have since seen reports that he actually climbed the gate to get onto the training ground so that he was a lot closer.
Unfortunately, my assertion that the main first team training pitch is on the other side of the training complex was probably wrong, I'm afraid. I was basing my knowledge on winter training when they carry out training on the astroturf at the rear of the main building. However, today I went over to Rockliffe to see if the Boro players were training and discovered that they were training on the lower training pitches - the ones which can be observed from the gate and even better observed from the slope down from the training centre.
What is bizarre, though, is why he went into the grounds over the gate and along the bottom of that slope, as there is no real cover behind which he could hide! I still assert that if he had any sense, he would/should have gone to the footpath on the other side of the training complex!! Here is a quick video sweep of Rocklife that I took this lunchtime about half an hour before they started this afternoon's training session:
As the video sweeps round you will also note the CCTV stanchion which, it is claimed, filmed the spy. However, you will also note the height of this, which shows that the photograph of 'Will' standing by the gate was almost certainly not genuine. |

Is he someone you don't think we would want HERE or someone about whom we don't want to HEAR?!!!!!
Personally, I am gutted that Ballard has not been given his chance, but with him likely to go out on loan again, it probably makes sense to bring in another youngster for the U21s. If he can then show himself to be ready to make the breakthrough into the first side (if our current crop of strikers do not deliver enough) then, why not?!
The biggest question, though must be whether signing him might be at the cost of signing a winger, AM, CM or Keeper should any key players in those positions leave. |

I believe Saints have pretty much said there are no negotiations ongoing to sell Edozie, so this maybe just journalists making up stories. I suspect Ibrox News are just recycling a story that has been in the national media for a few days.
Personally, I think this season could be a key time to see Edozie develop and that Still could be the man to bring out his best. Having said that we do have Dibling, Armstrong, BBD, Fraser, Robinson and others. Nevertheless, I would rather keep Edozie than Fraser or BBD. |
