This is a great summary of everything that is wrong (and there is very little right) about the whole process. I would add one more thing to underline the punishment in relation to other such, being way over the top: Forest got an irrelevant small points deduction and small fine for breaking financial rules in the season they last returned to the Premier League; effectively breaking the rules to ensure they had a squad that could survive and it worked and they have reaped the financial rewards ever since. |

In my opinion Peretz is better than Ransdale, joining after 4-0 loss to Boro and going on the unbeaten run says it all. He leads the defence in a way Ransdale doesn’t. Larin is worth spending the agreed money on but would prefer to splash cash on another striker too and centre back. Keep the obvious players too. All dependant on going up of course. |

I think the only minor criticism I would have is that when we went 2-1 up we should have strengthened defensively with subs eg Bragg on, as there were players who had given all to come back from a goal down to take the lead who were spent. But still very happy with how things are going. |

Agree, Azaz is our key player as the attacking link between defence and attack and the one whose passes unlock defences. Also, he is the only one in the squad who doesn’t have a replacement so difficult to manage his game time and swap him in and out as with all other outfield players.
Good to see you praise Sports Republic too, the rot started under Gao and they have gradually turned it around. |

THB was my MOTM, proper captain’s performance from him. Best we’ve played without the ball fur a long time as totally negated Fulham’s ability to create or take chances. Not just the blocking and throwing ourselves in the way of shots but the marking and shepherding of them when in possession. Could have won by more IF we had taken other chances, better than any Fulham had. COYY! |

I think for the last 15 or 20 we should’ve moved THB up to centre forward. Wood and Quarshie should’ve been able to deal with Coventry attacks as down to 10 and defending deep. THB started as a forward and with no forward height on the bench would’ve been a headed target for some of the crosses, particularly those of Fellowes. It would also have given Saints the option of him returning to defence if we scored and not needed to make a substitution. The other decision I would question is bringing on Archer rather then Robinson fir that very height reason in the box. |

Still a lot of negativity in article and a lot of comments. The biggest moan I’ve read in recent seasons is too much passing for passing’s sake. Well the 5 games we’ve won under Eckert we’ve had less possession but created more chances and scored more. He is getting what is arguably the best squad in the division playing positively and reaping the rewards and long may it continue. My glass is half full not half empty. |

The best managers are good coaches/technicians/tactitians AND man managers/motivators. I think the latter is the most important quality needed for the Saints at the moment and definitely in the championship. The combo is ideal but not that easy to find. Bit surprised Steve Cooper is not mentioned as he took Forest from a similar position to us when he took over to promotion in same season. I’m not necessarily convinced he’s the answer but should be considered I think. |
