A good article. The moral high ground is densely populated with those who choose to grade cheating. Many seem to consider our crime far worse than it actually was. If we are honest every manager at every pro club cheats in every game. That is unless they actively do something to stop their players diving, feigning injuries, pulling shirts, targeting the opposition star players for rough treatment etc. It is all cheating so not stopping it means it is condoned.
The punishment dished out to us was ridiculous and we won our semi final over two legs fair and square as we gained little from the spying. Maybe a better punishment would have been the points deduction, a hefty fine and a suspended sentence that we would be relegated from our division if caught spying in future. This would have stopped us and sent out a message to other clubs.
We were very harshly dealt with on this as agreed by very many sensible people in the world of football and beyond. |

Whoever wrote this article seems to be suggesting we are the ones that have been wronged here. We've cheated and been caught 3 times - don't tell me those 3 times are the only ones we've done it. Those running the team and this football club have behaved disgracefully and brought shame on the club not to mention the shit they've brought on the loyal fans. We need to forget about appealing and slink away with what little dignity remains and then look to rebuild with a new management team and Director of Football. Someone needs to come forward and explain to the fans what they thought would be achieved by this spying. We didn't win one of the 3 games in the charge and were abjectly hopeless in the match at Oxford. What were these people thinking. The damage to the club is astronomic not to mention the job now of rebuilding some element of trust with the fan base. This whole saga is a disgrace. |
