It was always going to happen with an option. As mentioned, would be good to get tied down to a further year (or two) on top of that. It may be happening.

Who else do we have with a contract up (apart from Willock) that we done have any option on.

Cant disagree with that. Would be surpised if he used the F word to a random bloke out in the street.

Anyway, roll on August

You won't need a VPN/Visit an overseas country for the game as its not a 3pm Sat KO.

Pretty sure it will just be avbialble via QPR+ in the UK.

Very sad. See Conrad many times in the early 90s. See him lots of the bigger events e.g. Dreamscape, United Dance but I went to a smaller event in Great Yarmouth back in Oct 1992. Him and Bukem, small club and was stood 6 feet away from them both and watching him do his thing was brilliant (so was Bukem to be fair on a very shoddy set up)

His intro on the Dreamscape 4 set that was then sampled was superb. It was actually "So get ready to Hardcore It, Jungle It, Come with it my man"

RIP Conrad

Strangest (but true) encounters with Rs players, past or present
at 13:01 3 May 2024

Hogan posts on X a fair bit (or did) Always seems pretty swirched on.

He left us when he 26/27 years old and has then never really played consistently anywhere since. Seems a waste of a decent footballer.

I assume he made enough money in his 4 year contract with us to last him a lifetime!

We are not safe!!!

As I walked away from the ground on Saturday we were 100/1 and I thought that tells you everything. I then looked at the table and thought, unlikely but we could still get dragged back down.

Checked the odds on Sunday and noticed Betfred had us at 250/1 which I tought was madness. I stuck a tenner on really hoping it loses. They have now cut us back to 50/1 (when I last checked)

I know it seems mad betting on us to get relegated but its like my Home Insurance, Critical Illness policy,, Life Assurance etc.. I hope it never pays out.

Coventry Away
at 16:58 18 Apr 2024

I think the Cat A will be based on what we charged them coming here.

Watford write to all clubs at start of season and offer £20 (may be £25) for away tickets if the other club will do the same. We never play ball with any of this and always charge top whack, this means that we end up paying top whack when we go away (unless a club is super generous!)

Here is Coventry info for the return fixture and we charged them £37

New EFL/Sky deal
at 11:14 12 Apr 2024

iFollow only scrapped for UK based Picture (Commentary for UK and overseas Picture will stay with iFollow)

It means the club will lose any income they got from people in the UK buying the Midweek games (but will get more from this deal to offset that) I am not sure how many UK based fans would have paid the tenner each midweek game.

I think thats a shame as the Red Button service is very poor (almost not worth bothering with IMO) The tenner to watch a midweek away game via QPR+ was worthwhile over that.

This from Sky SIte confirms that

Domestic streaming audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences via iFollow and club streaming services.

Swimming pool at Craven Cottage
at 17:24 27 Mar 2024

Spot on, this is not about people going for a swim on Matchday (although I read you can!!!) This is about those young and trendy folks, spending their hard earned cash at one of these rooftop bars that are all over the place.

As much as it pains me to say this, but it will be rammed in the summertime, there will be memberships before you know it and they will make a good few quid from it.

It will be like this place https://www.sohohouse.com/en-us/houses/shoreditch-house

Remember there are only say 25 games there a year, so no more than 50 hours of football.

League One Away Days
at 17:18 1 Feb 2024

I can actually walk to a game if we do go down (and Stevenage dont go up!)

To be fair there is free parking all around and even the large showground opposite is free (only places are the Retail Park and Tesco that have a limit om matchdays)

Anyway dont worry, if we did drop down you can all park at mine, come in for pre-game drinks and we all take a nice 15 min stroll to the away end!

Call me mad but I still think we will stay up. Nothing but wild optimism to base that on though!

Alex Smithies

Smithies was a great keeper for us.

My youngest was mascot for us when we played Villa away around 2018 time. My lad used to play in goal at the time and we managed to chat to one of the staff from the stands just before KO explaining he was mascot and would love Smithies gloves as a momento.

He said he will try and ask him. We didnt think it would happen but the game ended and he headed from the other end towards us, loads of fans calling him and he found my lad (who met the team before the game) and handed him his gloves! Made an amazing day even better. We still have the gloves now (has Smithies kids names on - one on each glove)

This has come up previosuly and I mentioned then that I done one in Hatfield, walked in and was sitting next to none other than Marc Bircham in his QPR tracksuit! He was involved in U21 then, cant remember the year but he had to get away straight after as they had a game!!!

I have also done two now and both pretty good, last one was about 8 years ago now, so I have changed (or just not got caught!!)

Safe Standing in Lower Loft
at 15:05 11 Dec 2023

I am also a family stand member sitting in block HL (got moved from PL when SS came in wich I was fine with) However, there are just as many tickets left for Wednesday and Saints on 23rd in Safe Standing as there are in the family stand blocks. Atmosphere was best its been for months in the Family section on Saturday in the 2nd half. The chants do travel and people in Family section do get involved. Remember that with the reduction in family section there are less 'tourists' and a much higher % of ST holders now.

I have said loads of times that amazes me with all the 'noise' made about Lower Loft Safe Standing that it doesnt sell out every week! I am pretty sure the club would extend further if fully sold out all the time. Has it ever sold out?

Membership Gift Packs
at 18:41 5 Dec 2023

I singed up to the Adult member pack in the Black Friday sale (£22) and pack was through in 72 hours.

Nothing amazing in it (Badge, 2 x Coasters - 1 of Dennis Kit and 1 of this years away plus a bottle opener) but you are really buying for the £2 discount on tickets on each game, as well as making sure you don't miss out on this years FA Cup Final, Play Off Semis and Play Off final tickets. Thought it was a bargain!
