at 21:27:01

National Express coaches also an option from London Victoria and picking up from Hammersmith Broadway next to St Paul's church. Fare around £20 return but the more you book the cheaper it gets (4 adults around £60). Journey time 1 hour 45 mins direct and timings good for the match.

Through the middle for Paul Furlong… - history
at 10:14:41

I remember saying to my youngest son, 16 at the time. Remember, just remember this moment, this atmosphere. They don't come around too often. Remember your dad in years to come and smile because I took you there and for showing you what supporting Rangers is all about just as my dad did to me at Wembley in 1967.

Thanks again Clive for the excellent report and the memories Here's to a repeat on Monday.

Blimey Clive, £408 in the Paddocks. Bit steep!

Also, there is a National Express coach, pick up Hammersmith next to St Paul's church on the Broadway. Journey time around 1 hour 50 mins with a fare from around £19 return. Check the National Express website. I think the coach number is 32 if you fancy this option.

Anyone coming from the city, drop off at Gloucester Road and head for the Park International Hotel 3 mins around the corner on Cromwell Road. Decent bar with Becks, San Miguel at £1.90 (yes, £1.90!) a pint between 5 and 7.30pm, then tube a few stops to Fulham Broadway. Bargain, all day every day!

Six circles of hell — LFW Awaydays

I remember the 4-4 with Port Vale. Didn't go to the game but 'watched' intently on Teletext after finishing work. Thing that really pi**ed me off when I found out later though was that the game was shown live on most, but not the London region of ITV. At the time I was able to get coverage from Meridian TV (South) from the Sudbury Hill area then and was just one button away on the remote to actually seeing it live on TV.

Great write up too Clive - very amusing

Plaudits but no points for QPR after brave City effort — full match report
at 10:39:35

Fantastic report, exactly how I saw it. I just wish we'd slung a few more crosses over as we had both their centre backs under immense pressure every time we did. Ok, it's a bit route one, but it worked everytime on Saturday.

Match with history of legendary players, and amazing games — fixture history
at 10:28:03

Excellent Clive. Memories indeed. The 5-5 always stands out. If we'd have played just a few mins more, I'm sure we would have won. I remember half time, we were contemplating leaving but I persuaded my mates that we should stay, more in hope than anything so we downed a few pints of Guinness and returned to the action. So glad we did.

The 2-1 win away was indeed Jan Stejskal that saved the penalty which was given against Alan McDonald for a dubious hand ball from a cross very late in the game. Sir Les had been injured in the week leading up to the game and pulled out of an England match, but three days later decided to have a run out and see how it went. What followed was one of the most impressive performances of a centre forward I have ever seen.
