I don't get the theory that a player is ready for the knacker yard once they are in their thirties. As a 50+ individual who has worked out throughout my life and works in a physically demanding job alongside people much younger, I would suggest that is more of a question as to whether the fire still burns inside you. I believe that I hit my physical peak around the age of 35 and can still hold my own with the youngsters.
If you look back at some of top players over the years many of them arrived having been discarded by other clubs for being past their best. I never have seen us as a "development" club. When we have been at our best I feel that we have got the combination of older pros and younger players right. A two year contract for Cook? If he is the type of player I believe him to be we will extend his contract beyond two years. |

Watford have some very talented players but the majority of them are bottle jobs. After a few minutes of the game I expected us to win every 50/50. Some of their player's pulling out of tackles was embarrassing. I expect Wilder will move many of them on at the first opportunity. |
