Totally agree. I'm delighted with the response we showed in the second half and, clearly, morale looks to be good as does the players' attitudes, but that first half was simply appalling. For me, JS underestimates teams down at the bottom. It was exactly the same last season and we come unstuck every time. We had no game midweek so there was absolutely no need to start Scarlett (just turned 17 a few weeks ago btw). He did show some nice touches but is very lightweight still. Why the need to start him when Saito, Smyth and Lloyd were all available? It's because he thought Preston would be a walk in the park.
It was a good comeback, but we've only taken 2 points now from Bolton and Preston at home. Good comeback or not, if we have aspirations to be in or around the top six we need to be winning these type of games. We shouldn't be discussing a good comeback and being pleased with a draw at home to Preston. If he'd taken them seriously and not underestimated them we should be talking about a good win & 3 points.
I know there's a lot of games, but he messes about with the team too much. I just don't think we're going to achieve anything with JS in charge.
And Obikwu... who knows? Perhaps we'll see him in another 8 months time. |

We’re talking about professional sportsmen, most of whom are in their 20s. They get paid obscene amounts of money and play on pitches that are perfect, yet it seems many can’t handle a couple of games of football a week. All this talk of “conditioning” and “managing” them.
Modern football. It’s pathetic a lot of the time if you ask me. |

"Very embarrassing first half..." Seriously, how can any manager start an interview like that?
And on Sunday he was going on about Middlesbrough being too good for us, yet they lost at home to Charlton last night. I know there are many other issues at the club (Williams, Nourry, injuries etc), but JS looks disinterested and out of ideas.
Is anyone else fed up of the same old crap season after season? |

Although I’m a regular visitor to this forum I don’t often post. I did want to share this though.
We lost a QPR supporter and close friend of mine - Marc ‘Cottee’ Cottingham - last month after a tragic accident. His family; his wife, two young daughters, his Mum, Dad and two brothers, are all obviously devastated and have set up a Go Fund Me page to raise some money for the QPR In the Community Trust.
Cottee was only 46 and attended many games with me since the 1990s. Some of you may recognise him.

Most books I read tend to be autobiographies and I have just finished David White’s autobiography; Shades of Blue. The former Manchester City player was one the former players to come forward in relation to the Barry Bennell child abuse scandal, but the book isn’t all about that.
It’s a good read and he’s honest in saying that his performances were often 5/10 or 9/10 with nothing in between. It’s a pity the 9/10 games usually came against us! Goals in the first ever Monday night Sky game, a couple for Leeds in a 4-0 win and a superb goal for City in an FA Cup game at Loftus Road in 1993 come to mind.
I found it interesting as he played for Manchester City when they were often in turmoil and when they were a totally different club – a ‘real’ club – not like how they are these days. |

I usually have a season ticket but due to travelling up from Sussex and the kids’ clubs - and the wretched 12:30 KO’s - I ‘only’ have a membership for this season. Even so, I have emailed the club requesting a full refund and I’ve asked for my money back for the Charlton tickets I’d purchased for this Saturday (yeah, I know that one is a 12:30 kick off).
As far as I’m concerned that is the ONLY thing that’ll make them take any notice; don’t buy tickets / don’t attend games.
I don’t know whether it’s Nourry or JS, but quite clearly, there is something very wrong at the club and if they persevere with this combination, this might just be the season we finally go down. |

It's insulting. I wasn't at the game last night but had I taken time off work and spent money on tickets and travelling down there, I would be contacting the club this morning and asking for a refund. To field a side like that was utterly disrespectful to the supporters and the competition. And to have a bench like that with a bunch of kids with no first team appearances between them... it's just not on.
Still, if it helps us achieve a 16th place finish it'll all have been worth it...

So, just comparing attendances on the three home games so far this season (all 12:30pm KO) versus the corresponding fixtures last season:
- WBA 16,818 last season... 15,900 this season
- Plymouth 16,339 last season... 15,285 this season
- Millwall 17,184 last season... 15,350 this season
Each one down on last season, and worth bearing in mind that the Plymouth and WBA games last season were both evening fixtures. On average, down just over 8% for us. I bet other clubs are seeing a drop in gates too. And I have read comments on a couple of forums about local pubs being down on their takings. So many people I have spoken to aren't happy about all the 12:30 kick offs.

Nope! I live near Brighton and my kids have clubs on Saturday mornings (football training, karate etc) and by the time they are done, it's 11:45am. So, I can't make 12:30 games. And I don't particularly like watching us on TV, so I will miss it. First 3pm home game of the season isn't until Saturday 19th October. Disgraceful. |

Yep. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a backlash over this. It seems people have moaned... but accepted it.
Give it a few years for us to get used to all these 12:30 kick offs and then they'll start moving some fixtures to 10:30am too, to get even more games televised. Because there's not enough football on TV as it is..! |

Just been looking at some other clubs forums and it looks like a lot of supporters are not happy about all the 12:30pm kick offs. I’m surprised more hasn’t been said about this yet. I’ve spoken to a few other people who are in the same position as me; i.e. they take their children to football/sports clubs on Saturday mornings and cannot make 12:30pm kick offs. But it’s not just that; the atmosphere is usually flat and there’s not time for the usual pre-match drinks and socialising so many supporters look forward to. Going for drinks afterwards just isn’t the same (especially if your team has lost).
Did any of the clubs consult any supporter groups? Of course not! It seems like people are complaining, but accepting this. |

Nope. Not yet. I’ve had a season ticket almost every season since I was 5 (I’m 44 now) and my children (6 and 9) were really starting to get into it last season too. I’m sick of how proper supporters get treated. Seriously, how much football do you need on TV?? |
