We are crying out for a decent goalkeeper by the way. I think it’s causing serious problems. Including cleaning out Dan Moss who if I had trust in the GK probably would have left it. |

We’ve done ok, I think we’re a bit lightweight in places and getting bullied but I can see a fast counter attacking style here that must be the tactical plan.
All season a theme has been that everything looks rushed and frantic. Minimal control and I suspect it’s because they are being asked to move the ball forward very fast. Just a guess though.
Flint looks like a good signing, the experienced head we need?
Hannant, hats off, you are running your heart out son.
Wilson is a liability through I’m sorry to say. I am not sure he’d get in a NL side.
We really can’t afford to be a training ground for these kids. |

Hindsight is always 20/20, but decimating a squad which was incredibly close, had been through so much together, bringing in what has felt like tens of new faces including too many loans, and then asking them to play a completely new system (though we have seen little evidence of what that is) was making a hard job even harder.
Probably would have been best to transition slowly away from mcnulty’s squad and formation, replace Perry, WhatMuff and Gordon with similar players first, and go from there. Clearly being solid is the first requirement and we are getting ripped apart at will at the moment.
I’m very worried for us, we simply cannot get cut adrift or fall back into the NL. |

His interview said a lot.
Not literally - the interview was just empty words describing how we must improve, hilariously, in defence, attack and in transitions. And our effort levels too! (I’d add technical skill and physicality to that list as well by the way.)
But he seems to not have a clear plan, or is unable to explain where things are going wrong. That is a MASSIVE red flag. It means that the doctor is unable to diagnose the issue, let alone prescribe the correct medicine. |

I think he has 2 games at most to save his job. It’s that bad. I do not see how this side is not going to get relegated and we literally can’t afford that.
I think there are some footballers in this squad but they are playing without any apparent game plan, zero control and are seemingly frantic and panicking every time they get the ball. It just seems completely chaotic and players are running around like headless chickens. This lack of organisation is a managerial issue. It’s scary how things have flipped 180 degrees over a summer. There are some players in there who are also not good enough and I don’t think are offering enough on the pitch.
I don’t want IW to lose his job. I am sure he is trying his best. I want him to be successful. And he has had a tough pre-season. But none of that excuses the chaos on the pitch. This is Steve Eyre / Robbie Stockdale replayed and we need someone with experience and leadership in that dressing room right away. |

I can’t believe I’m saying this TS after one game but it does have that vibe. Feels like watching a Steve Eyre team!
So disappointing. The reaction is often ‘you can’t question a manager after one game’ but, after this, it is justifiable. |

With all due respect, you're missing the point. I haven't judged his playing style at all. I criticised his total lack of enthusiasm, which is absolutely fair game. In fact it’s not just fair game but, IMO important, as it plays into team spirit.
If a player gave a similarly lethargic interview after being called up for his country or signing for a bigger team, the PR department would have never aired the footage, as it could go viral for all the wrong reasons. Showing up to your first day acting like Big Keith from The Office is just a bad way to make a first impression. That’s what I’m getting at.
I’ll concede what others have reasonably suggested - he might just hate being on camera or be young. That’s a fair counter-argument.
But calling my observation a 'new low' is an ad hominem deflection and honestly I’d expect better from you. If you disagree with my view, debate the point. Feigning outrage to shut down an opinion you don't like defeats the purpose of a the' forum and thematic of wider issues with society and online exchanges). Though this forum kind of has a whiff of the Stasi about it from time to time when it comes to opinion policing, so I shouldn’t be surprised!

Atrocious first interview from this Chelsea player. Looks like he is unhappy to be here. Hopefully proves me wrong, and his attitude on the pitch is better than his manners and attitude off it. |

I’d have major concerns for him if he does go there
Jury was out on the playing style for all of his time here pretty much.
Jim benefited from a patient fan base who understood where our club had been at its lowest and was grateful to just be existing.
There will be far higher expectations and honestly speaking I am not sure he’s cut out for it.
None of which is to say that I’m not hugely grateful for his tireless work ethic and the ultimate promotion, he’s a legend but I think he’d do better to stick with Dale otherwise he could find himself out of a role by January. |

I’ve always anecdotally thought we were one of the best supported away teams in the country % wise.
We have a small but die hard set of supporters. The same can’t be said for every club! |

Agree, that was a complete joke, that no one in charge recognised that we wouldn’t sell 45k tickets and fill the entire half of the stadium was a travesty. It made our first visit quite bizarre. |

I agree that the York game away was a bit of an anomaly- EEL uncharacteristically made two errors which led to goals.
The difference with York is if we do make an error they are likely to punish us.
My worry is our form but in a one off game, anything can happen. |

Has any explanation been given for why the remaining seats in the Wilbutts Lane stand are not available to Dale fans? Why are we not putting 2k more him fans on the gate? |
