Poor game from Saints. We need a new tough-tackling no-nonsense commanding CB, even if THB stays. I would also have Ramsdale as our GK with Peretz as back up. We also need a new boss in CM. Saints’ spine is not strong and we get caught out by physical teams who can find space between our CBs and CMs. This has to stop.
We also have a number of average attackers. There are a number of stronger Championship teams than us and we will not get promoted unless we also keep strengthening. A very poor transfer window. |

Is Dobbin our only summer signing? Or do we need to sell Charles, Ramsdale, Bazunu, Diaz etc to get a coveted 15-20 goal CF and a tough-tackling CM to stop us conceding soft goals?
Other Championship clubs have strengthened- we must do the same. It is going to be very tough to get promoted with 8-10 teams all capable of doing so. We Ned to be the best, especially in our final PL parachute payment season. |

The Channon photo says it all, Nick. That’s all I want, every season. A proper Saints shirt with the classic red trim and stripes ALL THE WAY DOWN the back. Why does it have to change every season? The club kit should be the same, forever. No messing, no marketing bods with no connection to Saints, spewing bilge about the docks, the New Forest, waves of the Solent, ‘army heritage’, Spitfires, ‘Southampton Made’ etc etc. Or retro kits, anniversary kits,
Same for the away kit. Plain yellow with blue trim like the FA Cup kit from last season.
The two kits should be protected. So whoever the kit manufacturer is and whoever the excited marketing bids are with a brief to ‘connect’ with the city, they cannot change our iconic home and away kits. Ever.

Far too many fans on this forum and supporters in general, tolerate a shockingly bad and embarrassing season, and who now accept mediocrity, who are ok with Saints being 16th in the Championship with a very average squad. 4 wins in about 50 league games now? We can’t even beat Swansea, Sheff Utd, Hull, Stoke, Pompey, Watford etc. |

100% agree, spot on amigo. The new kit is rubbish. Plain white back is scandalous. Only red stripes down the middle of the front is as bad as that rubbish Hummel kit from a few years back. How do kit suppliers and marketing bods get away with it again- stop messing with our kit!! Red and white stripes all over, as per the 1960s and early 70s kits- those are the best and we should be the same every year. Fat stripes, thin stripes, fat and thin stripes, mid-stripes, pinstripes, half-half, one stripe, diagonal sash, chevrons, all red, FFS- leave the kit alone! |
