Young goalie Brad Kelly signs for a further year. Have only seen him in last year's pre-season game against Bradford for half a game, but he did look pretty competent. Hope his injury issues are over - with seven subs this year he may well get at least a seat on the bench. |
| Forum Thread | Jimmy Keohane signs on for another year at 16:20 23 Jun 2023
Good.. Been one of our better players for the last few years. Always puts a shift in, knows where the goal is and possibly the most versatile player since Paul Madeley at Leeds. (Insert photo of Swiss Army Knife at this point) Cheers Jimmy! |

... squad (according to Wikipedia) contains the following likely lads: Defender Saul Shotton, who started as a youth player at Bury, left when they imploded and was picked up by WBA. Not played for the first team, spent part of last season on loan at Woking in the National League. As a lurker on the Beardy board (never disliked Bury, reserving my disdain for the Biffos) I seem to remember him being rated as promising by the saner members of the forum. Midfielder Finn Azaz was on loan at Cheltenham last season, and was a regular in their promotion side. The snag there is that they might want him again. Forward Callum Norton had a loan spell with Northampton a couple of years ago, scoring in their L2 playoff win. Was on a season's loan at Lincoln last year, but missed a chunk of the season due to a shoulder injury. All will presumably be well known to Robbie Stockdale... |

Jim McNulty signs a 1 year deal as player-coach. Personally think this is a good move. Provides experienced cover at the back and, as others have said previously, has already been working with the younger players in the squad. |

Had a quick look at the released list, and also who's still contracted. As nobody offered a new contract has accepted as yet (as far as I know), the following team appears to pick itself! In a 4-2-3-1 formation: Lillis * McLaughlin Williams McNulty Delaney * Camps Adshead * Dooley Gillam Andrew * Henderson Subs: Matheson Collis? BBM Bradley* Hopper* Hoti* Tavares* (*I'm assuming the four young lads will sign on) Priority signings for me are a solid, experienced, Right-sided Centre Back; a left back; a defensive midfielder; a goalscoring forward. Some of the gaps will no-doubt be filled by lads agreeing to their new deals - Rathbone and Ntlhe both look more than useful, while Keohane looked a reliable and versatile player at the tail end of last season. And I think Matt Done - if not wasted at left back - could grab some goals to take the pressure off Hendo. We don't, however, have a right-sided CB among those offered contracts - for me this would be a priority. |

Looking at Hilly's comments, NML needs to get his act sorted both fitness-wise and mmentally if he's going to get in the first team. So, based on the Travolta/Newton-John classic... "You'd better shape up (oo-oo-oo) Natty Mendez-Laing Or your time at Dale is through Cos if you don't (oo-oo-oo) Natty Mendez-Laing You'll be sent on loan to Crewe (to take them down into League Two) You're the one we might want... Just seen a copied tweet. Blackpool 3 v 3 Dale, presumably a behind closed doors job. Nathan Tyson (2) and Michael Chopra scored for the donkey lashers. Anyone know Dale scorers/team? |

Some different ones. The usual Lambert hattrick plus Madine, Jack Redshaw, Rene Howe, Marc Richards, Louis Dodds, Reuben Reid and Lucas Akins (on trial summer 2010). Didn't Andy Mangan have trials here a few yrs ago also? |
