No it doesn't run perfectly well as I couldn't get a ticket in the Main Stand last season and this season despite it being half empty!!!!!!! |

There can't be that many people "not bothered turning up" and that is my point...AND this is the second time this has happened.
TVOS is a mathematician...what are the odds of that many people not turning up? |

I looked across from the Sandy towards the Main Stand...and it was half empty.
I rest my case.
No, I am not club bashing...just want to see the club learning from the last time it happened.
Paid £10 for the match on Tuesday and had the pick of many vacant seats in the Main Stand. |

As usual when tickets are free the system is fouled up. I am a season ticket holder and wish to go in the Main Stand where I usually sit or at least anywhere in the stand. Last time free tickets were available I couldn't get a ticket in the Main Stand although on the day you could see the Stand was more than half empty. Today, I can only get a ticket for the Sandy.
What on earth is going on??????
I thought we were making progress !!!!!! |

I thought the sound was terrible too and I couldn't hear most of the interview. Surely they should have played it back and took the decision to perform the interview with better sound, whatever that takes.
This goes on for me to mention our interviews typically of our manager after the match. Quite often it is done next to the pitch...then miraculously the groundsman decides to mow the pitch!!!! The interview,for me, becomes hard to decipher and is therefore ruined. It happens quite often and I am puzzled why the interview process isn't robust in trying to optimise sound quality. |

I am hoping Karl Robinson takes the reins. Above all we need a safe pair of hands at this moment in time ; no unnecessary risks with unproven managers need to be taken. Karl knows the division and he will have valuable contacts. Even if he doesn't come cheap I would stretch to get him because the manager is the most important person at the club. Get that right and all other things fall into place. |

Nobody is talking about Whatmuff and how he could have won the game for us...yes, his shot-stopping was exemplary and kept us in the game and that is his real strength. But his kicking is woeful !!! He kicked the ball out to touch a few times therefore wasting time and possible opportunities to test York. But even worse is his kicking to Mani. He often puts too much force on the ball and it goes straight to their keeper. Simples...put less force onto the ball and get it to land a few feet before Mani not a few feet beyond him. OR start the kick 5 feet further back. This has been going on all season. Why the management team have not picked up on it only heaven knows. In terms of kicking the ball, what on earth is Lillis doing in training with him??
I would have thought this would be the easiest part of being a goalkeeper but our top keeper is showing us it is very difficult to get right.
Just what could happen if he got it right ?
Our chances of scoring against York were few but in my opinion Whatmuff could have added vital chances if only he could have perfected his long kicks.
Oh, and again, with chances to score being very low, why does Mani push his man in the box and our vital chance comes to nothing ????

Are the Ogdens willing to splash the cash now we are in a brilliant position to get us over the line? Duku at Tamworth, Knowles at Altrincham, Hmami at Halifax, etc, etc can all find the net. Amantchi can go back to Wallsall in January.
But we also need to work even smarter, for example, Mani D should not be working on his own upfront...he wins headers and the ball goes to no one so he needs Rodney or McBride to work alongside. I am sure that would bring even more goals. |

How long would it take to lay a plastic pitch at the COA?
If there is a window of opportunity then this could be the answer. Obviously if we get promoted to the EFL we would have to lay a grass pitch again. It kicks the can down the road somewhat but at least it could provide a possible solution. |

Just noticed that York have recalled goalkeeper Rory Watson loaned out to Scunthorpe. He played in their last game beating Aldershot.
Interesting that Scunthorpe play in the FA Cup tomorrow away to Blackpool. We should be rested more perhaps giving us an edge.

There were loads of seats vacant in the Main Stand and this happened in the last match too. To my mind people are buying seats for £0.00 and not turning up. Are they doing this for devilment? |

You are correct to point out the obvious financial implications; that it is far better to concentrate on promotion especially now that we find ourselves in such a good position. The Ogdens should be using their managerial nouse to see this situation, to see the big picture and bend McNulty's ear for him to play our "reserve" players in all other competitions. This strategic thinking should be part of the game we are in.
Yes, it's an awful conclusion to effectively pull out of the cups, but as others have said, we need to be ruthless in our pursuit of promotion. Clarity of mind is crucial at this point, and the Ogdens should provide that clarity. |

Decent crowd numbers, they brought 430, so we had about 2500. It will be interesting how Project 5000 will impact this season.
Their first goal scored at Spotland (COA) since 1965, and what a cracker. It certainly fired us into action. They were a good team and quite dirty, picking up 5 yellow cards for the second time this season. A lucky deflection proved to be the decider but we earned that bit of luck. Good to see Tutonda block a cross late in the game. This typified the added steel in the team which was lacking last season.
Oh, and one last point...how can our goalkeeper, from one of the best teams on the planet not kick a long ball with accuracy...I am still scratching my head !!!!!!!! [Post edited 17 Aug 2025 9:07]

The event was also used as a great marketing tool by our club. It brought new blood into the ground, especially the young blood. The very young supporters had their own section so they could sing away every time they were woken up by a player coming near them. We often preach to the converted but this was a real chance to recruit.
It was the first time I heard new voice on the tannoy. Whoever he was came over in an extremely professional manner, directing us to the QR code on the scoreboard in order to vote for the man of the match. He also relayed marketing information in a clear, concise way, for example telling us that the shop was open for a few minutes after the match and even telling us where the shop was located. Very simple but effective addition to our marketing tools...we are moving in the right direction methinks. |

If you say that Dieseruvwe is a direct replacement for him, we have come out of it better. I know it was only one game but this afternoon I saw Mani assist with the first goal and he smashed the ball into the net for the second goal. He had a couple more chances.So far, so good. |
