Leeds Reflection
at 23:09 26 Apr 2024

One of those special nights tonight at Loftus Road that come around every now and again.
Got off to flyer with Chair’s goal, but how important was Begovic save at 1-0 with Paal clearance as after that we did not look back.

All the players were outstanding from Dykes defending from the front to Begovic taking crosses and for all of Leeds possession they never really threatened and it was fairly comfortable in the end.

Who would have thought after Watford at home we would ended the season safe.

MOM could have been any of them tonight but Field gets it.

Totally out muscle d Leeds tonight which something you don’t often see.

A huge well done to Marti.

Preston Reflection
at 20:19 20 Apr 2024

It is not often you can say in life that Rangers turned up when they needed but today they did just that.

A few stray passes at the start but we can put that down to nerves other than that it was a strong team performance.

Commitment, Desire and Battle was on show today.

I have been a big critic of Begovic this season but he kept us in it with a fine save from Miller in the 1st half.

Preston keeper proved there is worse out there than Begovic in dealing with crosses by flapping and putting it on a plate for Dykes.

Hung on a bit at the end without Preston creating anything clear cut.

Strong performance from all but those who really shined was Dunne, Dykes , Wiilock and Field but my MOM was Clarke Salter.

Only the craziest of results will send us down now.

A massive well done to the fans today for creating a special atmosphere at HQ today, but the biggest well done goes to Marti for picking us up turning us around and delivering us to the finishing line. Come on you R’s

Hull City Reflections Away
at 19:04 13 Apr 2024

Beaten by a much better side today and in fairness it could have been more.

Where did it go wrong?

Could not cope with the Hull wide players as it was evident today playing Anderson, Willlock, Chair it left us so exposed at the back as the 3 players mentioned struggle to track back and the Hull full backs and wingers had so much time and space and the centre backs always had an out ball wide.

The back 4 where very poor today… Fox stands off his player far to much by the way which was enabling to many crosses to go in.

I think we also need 2 forwards playing but that is going to be a gamble as the 3 we have are poor and I am talking about Frey Dykes and Armstrong.

Smyth missed 2 clear cut chances today but even if they went in I think Hull could have gone up a level.

I think at 3 down I would have gone with Armstrong and Dykes down the middle but I saw no value in bringing Armstrong on so late.

I think another win should see us safe but even with Rangers being so inconsistent 1 good performance.in 3 is possible.

If I had to pick a MOM today it would of been Willock.

Final word Asmir Bergovic needs to go next season if we do stay in the championship poor positioning, distribution and you can’t have the top earner being the weak link.

Swansea Away Reflection
at 18:38 1 Apr 2024

Great start to the game by Rangers and totally in control for say the 1st 20mins.

The middle of the game was a total non event.

We scored and then hung onto the end and that was expected as Swansea always have lots of possession.

Bringing Frey on to see out a game was laughable.

The luxury of where we are at the moment is that we have a little bit of strength in depth and with that in mind and after a game on Friday Marti made some changes to keep things fresh and maybe look forward to the games ahead v Wednesday and Plymouth and being able to do that will maybe help us get those 2 wins maybe to see us safe.

The game will be forgotten in days but the 3 points will always be there on show and that is all that counts.

Marti got I right today and well done to the boys. MOM today Clark-Salter.

Boro Refection
at 17:50 9 Mar 2024

After Wednesday night’s performance expectations were high but in true QPR tradition we were brought back down to earth with a bang.

Lots of possession in the 1st half without actually producing anything meaningful but looking very comfortable against a very poor side.

I believe we all thought it would come and let’s be patient when we went in at halftime.

The 2nd half polar opposite to Wednesday’s 2nd halfand very poor especially the balls into the box and not being able to break the lines and yes the inevitable happened and Boro scored and a second soon followed.

I can honestly it was poor and we never looked like creating anything and 3 points dropped against a poor side. We looked tired and clueless as the game progressed.

Poor performances from Cook, Chair, Field, Frey but at a push MOM Dunne.

But this week really sums up life as a QPR fan with the extremes of the highs of Leicester and Lows of Boro and the emotions of Wednesday.

Rotherham Reflection
at 18:01 24 Feb 2024

At 2pm the mystery we all wanted to resolved Chair is not locked up in a distant prison cell but is the starting 11 for the Rangers and that wasn’t the only surprise in store for us all after last week best performance we had all seen in a while v Bristol City 3 unforced changes in the starting line up, which left us all thinking why? I myself could not work that out. The 1st 10mins of the game was awful the playing out of the back was leading to errors the passing was poor, Hodge was all huff and puff and misplaced passes and Frey could not hold anything up leading to A mistake at the back and goal for Rotherham who in my opinion where a very poor side, but we didn’t panic and even though we did not create much we had so much ball. Halftime can and as expected changes where made and I think he got them spot on with Hodge and Issac being hooked although I would of one further and took Frey but you can’t knock his effort but if you are playing 1 up top and he is the focal point of the attack he has to stay up as he tends to chase back a bit but much and you can’t fault the commitment but you lose the out ball. Rangers got deservedly back in the game with a cracking ball from Willock through to Smyth to score when I honestly thought he was going to pull it back. The winner come from a run from Chair and a square ball across to Willock to finish it in style. Strangely I thought we seem confident and calm at 2-1 with no real threat to our goal and no nervous moments. Lots of positives today Willock fitness, options on the bench, stepped it up when needed. Some good performances today Colback, Chair, Clarke-Salter but although an honourable mention to Jimmy Dunne my MOM was Willock. No results went in our favour today apart from Stoke but we did what we needed to do today and that was get the Win and that got us out of the bottom 3 which is where we need to stay until that final whistle is blown at the end of the season Come On you R’s

Norwich Reflections.
at 17:52 10 Feb 2024

A really good entertaining game at HQ today v Norwich and probably in fairness a fair result and at the end of season we will see if it is a good point or not. The starting 11 and the bench for QPR was the strongest for us I have seen in a long time except for Field with the Transfer Window looking good for us with Hayden, Frey, Hodge, Anderson looking upgrades for Dozzell and Duke- McKenna although it will be interesting to see if Anderson, Frey can cope with the pace of the championship. The Colback finish to put us 1-0 was a good finish from a good break from Chair who seemed to go into traffic to find Willock instead of going the other way where the overload was on but it worked out alright. The Norwich equaliser and I guess Marti has got to stop believing his own words and understand we are struggling to defend corners come from a well worked Norwich corner which was a kick in the teeth to conceed. The goal to put Norwich was from a quality cross which made it easy to finish for Sargent. At 2-1 I could not see anything other than a Norwich win a couple of strange subs I could not get my head around taking Armstrong off when we where 2-1 as I think we needed a focal point of 2 and we was losing the threat of his pace. The goal to make it 2-2 came from a good ball in from Anderson and I am could be being unfair in saying did he mean it from Frey who I think could be a useful impact player. At 2-2 with Norwich having a lot possession without really creating anything but still being a threat due to them having a lot of the ball I could not understand the call to hook Hayden for Dykes as u thought it would expose us a bit. I thought a Willock, Smyth swap earlier in the 2nd half would of been a smart move. Ashley Barnes played the ref well today and is the sort of player you want on your side but when he is opposing side he is one of the things that is wrong with the modern game. The ref had a mad 10 mins at the Norwich try the break the record of free kicks given to one side. Lots of final thoughts even though they had lots of the ball we did not let them create much resulting in saves from Bergovic, the midfield is going to look stronger and more Physical with an axis of Hayden, Field and Colback , you can’t 90 mins out of Willlock and Rangers come back like Huddersfield when we thought they where dead showing some never give up attitude, more options on the bench. A special mention to the Norwich 23 Kenny McLean who I thought run the game today and we struggled to get near and stop him from dictating play. Some good performances today but my MOM was Jack Colback . Up the R’s

Millwall Reflection
at 17:44 20 Jan 2024

Like most today I arrived at HQ with low expectations fearing the worse but went surprisingly happy. No surprises with the starting line up and the best balanced 11 we could get on the pitch in my opinion. A great get the job done performance by the team.I can’t remember a single save made by Begovic within the game. The 1st goal was a created by a great cross by Willlock who in the 1st half seemed to have the fullback on toast until run out of steam towards the end of the game. A great quick thinking free kick from Paal released Chair who cutback to Colback who hit a decent shot that was spilled by the keeper and Armstrong done what all forwards should do followed up a nd game all wrapped up. Some really good individual performances today Clarke Salter, Paal, Chair, Field. But MOM today was Jack Colback who was a quality today who just got the nod over Steve Cook and if Rangers are going to stay up the importance of Steve Cook being on the pitch for the majority of the remaining games can’t be overlooked. Not sure if Millwall were poor or we made them look poor I guess somewhere in the middle. No negatives today well only one if we are being picky that was Reggie Cannon performance for the 1st 20mins …how many times did he give the ball way. Also Rangers where smart today in killing the game by going down injured when maybe they weren’t but that is game management. Massive well done and a good 3 points to stop the Rot. Come on you R’s

Bournemouth Reflection

A decision had to be made today play a side to win and get the 100k money for getting into the 4th round or protect your players with a relegation battle ahead in the upcoming weeks and rightly or wrongly that is what Rangers did. I thought Rangers did alright with what they put out there was evident with the speed and pace that Bournemouth played at which is common sense when free transfers play against 15 million + players, but surprisingly we found ourselves 2-0 from a great Armstrong goal and a lucky deflected shot from Armstrong. I guess we all knew that the second half would be backs again the wall stuff and it was a kick in the teeth that it was so soon from that old problem that we have defending set pieces. The winner come from the disaster waiting to happen which we rode our luck on several times playing out if the back which you can’t do if Dunne is involved. In the the end we gave it a go but fell short. MOM today was an Armstrong but Dunne was interesting in 2 parts ….Ball at feet liability but defending wise was very good but unfortunately to be a modern day player you have to be able to do both. Next week back to the important stuff. Come on you R’s

Cardiff Reflection
at 17:46 1 Jan 2024

Everything about today had a look of a relegation side. When I saw the line up today the team had a look of no goals in it and a lack of creativity about it but in fairness to Marti the cake is only as good as the ingredients you put in it and when you so going deep into the squad it is poor which is backed up against the performance against Ipswich which was good but we had near to our best 11 out on the pitch but today we massively missed Chair, Willock and Cook but I feel at QPR with what we have we are going to see lots of inconsistency in our performances. Cardiff for their part were very very poor in fact probably one of the worst sides we have seen at HQ this season but they are going home with 3 points so FairPlay to them. 1st Half was very poor performance from Rangers who really struggled to play out of the back as there was little movement in front of the ball and Cardiff seemed happy to let Rangers have the ball at the back as we where clueless in what to do with it. Apart from the goal I can’t honestly remember any shots on target from both sides apart from the goal. I not sure if someone did not pick up a
A runner or it was just a good ball in. Second Half saw improvement with Kolli coming on and doing well before his premature exit but before he left he did something that we do not see an enough off a decent ball in which evades the 1st defender. Marti made a shocker in my opinion taking off Dixon-Bonner who in fairness was the one who was always trying to make some happen and replace him with Albert who struggled badly in the middle before going out wide. The winner same a Millwall away Begovic came for something he should have got and missed it by a mile. We huffed and puffed a bit towards the end but with a lack of quality nothing no equaliser materialised. Some shocking performances today Cannon, Larkeche, Dozzell., Dykes and Marti for replacing Dixon Bonner with Albert and for moving Smyth off of the right when for a 10min spell his was roasting the left side at will which saw yellow cards being dished out at will for fouls against him although Smyth was very poor in the 1st. MOM hard to pick one maybe Kolli for his cameo but at a that is at a push. I do appreciate that this is not Marti squad and he is dealing with a very unbalanced squad that he has inherited from the previous hierarchy Ainsworth/Ferdinand and I just hope there is an opportunity to move out some and get some in that he may know from his time in Scandinavia. A massive Well Done to the Rangers last night on a quality performance against high flying Ipswich.. Yes Ipswich May had various 1st team players missing but it is a squad game and Rangers of the better players missing at the end Willock, Chair and Cook so that is a leveller. We had more corners more shots and more clear chances and yes Smyth bundling over was a in my opinion a penalty but the hand ball was not and would have been harsh. Lots of positives from last night played the ball well around the back and played out well. Strong performances across the board with the only negatives being the knocks for the 3 previously mentioned players. Although I walked thinking we deserved 3 points before the game I was expecting none so a point gained. MOM could have been a few but Sam Field was the star player. Happy New Year and Come on you R’s

Southampton Reflection
at 18:53 23 Dec 2023

Today we welcomed high flying Southampton to HQ the start of 3 difficult games over a 6-day period and with the Saints in a run of form that I read has seen 9 wins in 14 games I do not think even the most optimistic of us saw nothing but that changing to 10 wins in 15 games. The starting line-up I do not think we can question that with who was available to start, and I would have gone with that 11. Southampton was as expected good and comfortable on the ball and probably the best side I have seen down here so far this season but I thought Rangers contained them well with no clear cut chances for either side but a moment of magic nearly paid off with Chair’s magic but the timing of the goal was a killer just before the end of the half not sure if it was a push or a slip or Cannon did just not go with his man but I totally missed it but whatever it was a goal. The second half was the same as the 1st.I will we did put some good balls in the box but the same issue as I have commented on before when it is a good ball either we do not have the player in the right position or enough bodies in the box. I will question the call to take Dykes off if your last role of the dice is to have 2 up top as you want to end up with Armstrong and Dykes as Kelman nothing personal against the lad but he not good enough at this level. I was impressed with Larkeche when he came on and he willingness to overlap and maybe that is an option going forward with Paal pushing into midfield… Cannon should take note as here as the direction I am seeing is when Bergovic gets the ball is for the fullbacks to go wide but his starting position is so flat footed and his 1st touch is not a positive touch which also with a lack of ambition in overlapping. I caught fault the performance today as I thought Rangers did well today against a side that will get promoted or be awfully close. Not many negatives today from me apart Willock how many times offside, Cannon extremely poor, conceding a poor goal as the player should not of won the 1st header and what ever happened to Cannon should never have happened had a stinker and I do not think we got any 50/50 calls. Positive today atmosphere in the ground today was good and the crowd really got behind the team, played well against an incredibly good side at this level, Chair, Paal, Willock, Field, Clarke-Salter played well. In general, the defence looked good. But when you look at the Southampton bench Adams, Fraser, Stephens, Holgate it does show how big the challenge was today and I did walk out of Loftus Road today we gave it a good go but with the quality we had inevitably just fell short. MOM today you might disagree, but I thought Jimmy Dunne played very well today.

Plymouth Reflection
at 23:32 13 Dec 2023

Not sure where to start tonight but I will go with an inferior performance from the off with passes being misplaced and a massive amount of complacency moving onto being devoid of ideas in breaking down a resolute well organised Plymouth back line. If we go back to the start and look at the starting line up where we being clever and sensible in resting players in preparation for a busy Xmas period and also taken into consideration the many games we have played of late or should we have approached the game differently and played our best 11 from the off…. Clarke Salter, Cannon, Smyth with Kelman nowhere near the starting 11, I do not know being honest but tonight I would have gone for it and got the points on the table. The game itself was one way traffic but it was comfortable for Plymouth as 9 out of 10 crosses into the box was poor often failing to beat the 1st man. I thought we had a little bit more quality than Plymouth and once they went down to 10, I thought we just had to be patient and it would but unfortunately it did not. I thought Willock and Kelman stayed on for far too long it was crying out for Smyth and Armstrong to be introduced although Armstrong really does need to look along the line as on numerous times if the ball went in earlier, he would have been offside. I do appreciate that if something is going to happen it is going to come from Chair, but it was not his night tonight, but it was crying out for someone to overlap him on left and that only happened once by Larkeche before he went off and went, he did the balance in the side went. Fair play to Plymouth who defended well but the positive to take is another clean sheet but we paid a price for cheap bookings tonight in Field and Paal which resulted in them going off early and I think we really did miss them …Should of really been 4 wins on the bounce but rewind 2 months ago a look back to where we have come from it is hard to complain MOM can’t really pick one out I am afraid … Up the R’s

Stoke Reflection
at 22:31 28 Nov 2023

Wow we all went through the ringer tonight as we saw the best and worst of Rangers. I thought when we missed the opportunities at 1-0 when Dykes missed the one on one and Dixon Bonnir Mia controlled the ball and I could be wrong I think Chair missed it that it was not going to be our night when we failed ti clear the corner and they equalised. The 10mins or so after the sending off was Rangers at their worse as we did not seem to know how to play against 10 men and you could not see the spare man on the pitch and when Stoke went in front it kind of summed Rangers up at the moment. Willock was disinterested we seemed to be bringing all 11 players back to defend free kicks and corner, but we got a break and good finish from Dykes to level it and fair play and well done to Larkeche for not diving in and committing a needless fail with a player going nowhere and for hassling never giving winning the ball and putting the ball in the danger zone for all of the people Ben Pearson who has been over the years a complete moaning so and so over the years in the Refs ears to slice one into his own net. Still felt nervous against 10 at 3-2 but Willock took his goal well to put the icing on the cake to give us a 4-2 win that honestly nobody expected at 2-1 down. Steve Cook played well bring the ball out of defence and making some timely tackles and blocks but my MOM tonight might be a strange one back Jack Colback showed his experience keeping the ball moving and driving Rangers forward … On a positive Clarke-Salter looked good when he came on a should start in front of out of sorts Jimmy Dunne at Preston. Well done also Marti for the changes which seemed to work and I would also start Cannon instead of Kakay who did nothing really wrong but Cannon is an upgrade. Come on you R’s

Bristol City Reflection
at 17:57 11 Nov 2023

A strange game of nothing really no clearcut chances for either side but we saw improvement from Rangers but I am not sure how much of that can be factored against how poor Bristol City was. The style of player today from Rangers saw wingers stay wide and a much better performance from Willock and high pressing but the crossing from Rangers in general was very poor when you measure that against the balls put in by Bristol towards the end. I believe the key today and quite rightly so was not lose and that was evident at the end when it was a straight forward change in Dykes for Armstrong instead of going for it with 2 up top but when you look at our bench it looked poor. But an improvement in general and looked a lot more solid at the back ….MOM Paul Smyth

Leicester Reflections
at 17:45 28 Oct 2023

Looking at the starting line up a very poor Centre Half paring and that is with no disrespect to Sam Field who is by far our best midfielder, but you had 2 players playing out of position and although he did alright today I don’t think Kakay would be in anybody’s starting 11 fully fit. I would also say strange choice in starting Kelman a player who could not even get into Orient’s starting line up last season shows either either highlights either Ainsworth lack of ability in the role, possible dirt on Ainsworth or Ainsworth seems to see something in him that nobody else can see but in my opinion I think Kelman is out of his depth. I would have possibly gone with Smyth or Dixon B and pushed Chair further forward. Leicester 1st goal summed up Rangers luck at times another goal off a deflection, but I suppose it could be said we got lucky with Dozzell goal. I honestly don’t think the sending off would have changed the result and Leicester were good and passed the ball round well but when you have players on the bench that cost 15 and 20 million. The sending off if you thought Duune was stupid Dozzell topped it and fell for the game the Leicester winger played and gave the Referee an easy decision to make .. No complaints from on that and I’ll discipline from Dozzell. Begovic lack of urgency evident again this week a continuous them in around the 87 minutes when he missed a quick throw out to Smyth on the counter. I thought today the team did better than I expected against a very good if not the best team in the championship. I hope although a great player and seemingly a nice bloke it is the last time I see Ainsworth in the dug out at Rangers unless it is managing another team as I believe he is out of his depth and change is urgently needed. Who would I like to see walk in at HQ and although I have previously called for Warnock who is now my 2nd choice it would be Gary Rowett who did a good at Birmingham before being unfairly dumped for a big name Zola and a good job at Millwall on a rumoured lesser budget than ours.. MOM I would say was Chair who gave it a good go today and tried to make things happen and probably showed and proved why Leicester where rumoured to be interested in him earlier in the season as a replacement for Maddison or playing in the hope they will rekindle it for next season. Up the R’s and keep the faith. I forgot to say the 1st half we sat off Winks so much and everything goes through him and countless times he got the ball unchallenged and passed iit on mostly forward which lack homework on Leicester and how they play.

Blackburn Reflection
at 18:18 7 Oct 2023

I liked Ainsworth as a player in his time at QPR and although I don’t know him personally I like the way he comes across as a man and now here comes the but I never ever wanted here at Loftus Road as a manager as even though to a point he was successful at Adams Park Div 1 football is a different game to Championship football as the higher you go up the leagues the more technical the game becomes and Ainsworth brand of football is very similar to his playing style 100% commitment 100% direct 100% effort but as I said earlier you a little bit more than that and weather you agree or not it has to be a bit more possession based game than a direct bypass of the midfield. So in summary right for QPR as a player to get out of Div 1 in the earlier 00 but not the man to consolidate in the championship and take us forward. I did last week call for a change and maybe a short term fix of Warnock to buy time to decide on a long term but we are at the moment who would want to manage us with the tight conditions of FPP but we are appealing and a name and London based so there is a pull of sorts…….. onto todays game I knew before I started my journey to HQ with the absence of Field and potentially Cook which was confirmed at 2pm but Blackburn had players out too. I am not a Kakay fan as stated before and he I had to start today to give us a balance as playing Larkeche at right back ( a complete left footed player) was setting him upto fail and with Cook out too it was not time for a gamble and maybe if I was in charge I would of started Kakay telling him he is in last chance saloon and tried to get a reaction out of him. The goals conceded was poor especially the second caught flat footed Larkeche you attack the ball. Other things I noticed nobody is ever available at a throw in the movement is poor. In the second half it was crying out for change and it seemed a lifetime before Ainsworth made a personal change.I don’t want to dig out young players but Duke-McKenna looked really out of his depth at this level. No leaders on the pitch. Why when we are behind is there no sense of urgency from Begovic In getting the ball to restart the game. There seems no game plan or plan b apart from hit it long for a flick off Dykes or ball over the top for Armstrong to chase and at this level those tactics are easy to play against.MOM for the reason he had a go at trying to create is Chair, but 0-4 at home against a poor side speaks volumes. Change needed and a different voice needs to be heard in the dressing room to motivate a side than is shot of confidence….Keep the faith and up the R’s ….or am seeing the current situation differently to anyone else?

Coventry Refection
at 18:57 30 Sep 2023

Let’s look at the game in 2 parts the 1st half and the 2nd half. When I saw the starting 11 I really would of stuck with Armstrong as the centre half that plays for Coventry although tactically clever and strong would be exposed for pace and Williock us a shadow of the player he once was but who am I. At the end of the 1st half it was even between 2 very poor sides. I was not concerned about Fox going off as it was straight replacement with JCS. The second half was a different story although I am a massive fan of Cook I thought he was exposed up against Simms who on various occasions done him for pace ( I am not sure if they see that in the dug out and say JCS you take him and Cook go spare) I think when we went a goal down it was the time to put Armstrong on but it was too late at 2 down. I was bemused why all game when Coventry had a corner or attacking free kick we kept 1 or 2 up front which seemed to stop a couple of times all of sudden. What disappointed me most as the game went on was Coventry seemed fitter as we where hopelessly overrun in midfield and they broke through with ease for the 2nd of 3 goal, but a starting midfield containing Dozzell, Chair Wiilock is not robust enough for Championship football although it does give you something going forward is does not work in the style Gareth plays as we do not play or have the players to play possession based football. We massively missed Colback today for the balance he brings to the team. My player of the match today was Ken who showed some good touches on the ball. Forgot to mention a couple of times we did put a couple of good boys in the box one from Ozzie in the second half there weren’t anybody their which back my point on legs in midfield. I think we will struggle for a while and the issue is bigger than the manager and needs a review from the top down especially if what we read in the paper was correct that our Goalie is on 32 k a week! I for one was not in favour of Gareth coming in at the start although he was a great 100% player for us I did not believe his style of play was suited to championship or most importantly QPR who would I of had instead .. don’t know and maybe that was the problem. Should Ainsworth go now? If it continues yes or if the opportunity comes that Warniock could come in short term to steady the boat. I can’t see anything from Leeds away so roll on Blackburn next Saturday and if all fit and ready to go I would go with. 4-5-1 Bergovic, Cannon, Dunne Cook, Paal a 5 of Smyth, Colback, Field, Dozzell (Chair to float and create) and Dykes up top…and if we go behind revert to 4 4 2 with Armstrong coming on and while Ozzie has come on leaps and bounds he is still way behind JCS and Dunne in a back 4 or 5. Keep the faith and up the R’s

Cardiff Away Reflection’s

What a difference a week makess in football The line up looked the best we could put out with what was available and I must say what a difference one player made Steve Cook. Calm composed and organised the players around and his positioning was spot on. The 1st half we looked so comfortable but I was a little concerned as the half progressed that we nothing to show for it but Paul Smyth gambled on a potential error and got his reward and put a quality ball in that Sinclair finished. As expected at the start of the second half Cardiff came at us and we all knew that Cardiff would not be as bad in the second half as they where in the 1st but we got a break and showed great strength pace and then composure to lay the ball off to Kenneth to finish. When Cardiff scored it was one way traffic and yes we rode how luck at times but our 1st half performance earned that. Only negative I can think of today is the substitute we made today which was forced showed and highlighted a lack of strength of depth in the squad. Top performers Smyth, Cook, Fox, Ozzie and Chair…but my Man of the Match was Sinclair…I had a horrible feeling today with it being Ramsey Cardiff homecoming but.Well Done and 3 points towards safety…on another note if we do get Danny Barth from Sunderland if opens up the option of 3 centre backs and 2 wing backs which is an option not out there with the current squad but you can’t get Paul Smyth in the team if you play with wing backs and that takes a lot of the pace out of the team especially if Armstrong is not playing Up the R’s and enjoy the evening

After the dismal showing against Coventry I believe we where all in agreement changes needed to be made against and quite rightly they where made and in my honest opinion we what was on offer to be fair Ainsworth probably got it right with the line although a fair few would say William should be starting he is a shadow of the Willock we know and loved and in my opinion is not 100% fit and you can’t any passengers at the mo. Shame no Laird as he did alright in his cameo on Saturday but a well done to Drewe who did well.

Game if 2 half’s tonight scored a good well worked goal which eased the nerves but the miss from the scramble was a blow. Although Norwich looked pacy they were bullied by us.I guess we all knew that could not be that poor in the second half but to score when they did was a kick in the teeth as Rangers become nervous and it looked like there was only going to one winner in Norwich. Massive miss by Tim who faded badly but was probably in fairness rushed back to quick. A real lack of urgency in the 2nd half in getting the game moving especially from Seny where the players under the instruction a point was a good result if so should the plan of changed with tonight’s result going the way they where? Subs made far too late common theme in the Ainsworth tenure as Martin was. Offering nothing and Lowes pace was needed up front. Only time will tell on the 8th of May if that was a good point or 2 dropped. MOM Sam Field saved us a few times with some timely interceptions. Keep the faith and Come on you R’s
