Signed for the U’s ten years ago on a two year contract. Made 20 appearances has left footed midfielder but never really establishes a first team place when he got injured which kept him out most of the first season, on his return got another different injury which again kept him out the side for a long period and was then released by McGreal.

According to pre match interview it emerged that he has a serious hamstring injury, which unfortunately the opposition found out about between the Thursday and Saturday.
Seems Mullins coped better knowing than he did.
Somehow we need to find a makeshift centre forward sharpish or another bottom two finish looms .
The exciting times ahead have rapidly disappeared. |

Moves too raise the horizontal pole in United Way by the shuttle bus turning circle, has concerns raised in accessing the ground after match where motorists are unable at present to turn right from the car park into Boxted straightroad, which would ease congestion, with at present left only being available in leaving the site.
It comes as a motion will be proposed at a full council meeting, next week, to introduce a six-game trial to lift the barrier at Boxted Road following matches.
A trail period up to Christmas would mean pole lifted for a hour after match to ease further congestion .
Obviously the local councillor objects to the proposal, highlighting traffic congestion in the surrounding Chesterwood area . |

COLCHESTER United's match against Port Vale will now take place on December 15.
Know the fixture list is compact but, midweek, couple of weeks before Christmas is not helpful to anyone trying to attend. Perhaps trying to avoid televised Chumps League games mid week later in the season (when it is warmer and dry ) .
Hold on, do not pencil it in not quite yet, could play on the second round FA cup Saturday, we are usually free then ! 🤭🤭. |

Ideal opportunity to gain some zip and rhythm through the team but was sadly lacking except one move near half time . Expected to much time on the ball.
Also an opportunity to gain an extra point with penalty win .

Pato consortium completes Northampton takeover.
Not got a very good history at Cobblers regards money and foreign investment, so will be interesting to see what develops there, especially after the collapse of a potential U’s takeover before. |

Did a similar challenge at Bristol that showed a gash down the players shin, but not spotted by the officials. No malice intended but over enthusiastic in trying to make a statement from coming on, DC post match comments are usually honest but in this instance trying to take focus on dropping more home points might have impaired his judgement. |

One word summed it up , experience.
Possession lost constantly after first touch, just by being closed down quickly, probably something that does not happen in training . Five across midfield, but the wide guys did not tuck in when defending leaving full backs exposed . It showed that the fringe players are nowhere near first team duties . But the main concern is the forward line.
But let’s get it into context, strong Posh side with caretaker wanting a home win on his CV, against ten changes U’s side and for first 30 mins not much to choose between the sides until the opening goal.
League points are the ones that matter, but a promotion campaign only the last play off place even realistic. |

A two legged final in the southern section got us of to a nightmare start, a 2-0 defeat at London Road blew our Wembley dreams apart.
Ricky Otto gave the U’s the run around all night, ( just like he used to the local constabulary in his off field activities ), but those leaving thought early goal at home could turn the balance has they should have won by more after being two up early in second half. New signing made his debut for the U ‘s that night …. Mark Sale . |
