Great performance. Think he needs a year under his belt at L1/2 and get experience - Dieng at Doncaster e.g.. Putting him in as no1 too early could be damaging, 22 is so young for a keeper

On them - massive loss that they’re losing O’Hare, fantastic footballer. Their RB is exactly the sort of player we need as an option, pace and threat

That second goal is purely from Andersen’s quality of delivery, such a weapon and a huge reason we’re out of the shi*

Dunne the lynchpin clearly, but so good to see Field being a genuine goal threat. So many of us, none more than Clive, have been calling for Field to improve in oppo box and feels like this season has been a real watershed for him. So glad he’s extended, if he can get another 5-8 goals from CM next season he is suddenly a real asset at this level - goals + always fit, defensively excellent would certainly see interest especially if the new tv money restores the 3-6m player sales bracket that really screwed us over post Covid.

Are we capable of going up next season.
at 16:11 30 Apr 2024

Of course it’s a (remote) possibility, but we’re all kidding ourselves if you genuinely think we will go up or be in the top 6 next season. All the usual problems remain, but we’ve landed on a special manager who is able through good coaching and tactical awareness to win games through his decision making - a trait I haven’t seen in an R/s gaffer since NW and even then he had Adel.

Progression after the cluster f*** of Beale-NC-Gaz for me would be: 14-8th, playing good football recruiting under the buy-to-sell model, seeing some youngsters (Kolli / SA) developing here or on loan, and making more strides off the pitch (love what they’ve done with away tickets at LR e.g.).

If you’re expecting more I think that’s unfair given where we have been for nearly two years!

Wouldn’t mind Sorba Thomas either. Brilliant dead ball, would fit in well on right and can play RWB too. Can then rotate him and smyth with a consistent system and approach (and some final ball improvement)

Assuming at least one of if not both Norwich and Hull need something to make sure they can get in play offs or confirm their place, can’t see both Birmingham and Plymouth beating them personally! But of course not over

Between Birmingham and Plymouth now. Norwich and Hull on final day respectively. Stomach churners those games!

Fair play SW. More noise about Rohl good for us imo, nothing to see in W12

Maybe we should extend his contract and then send him on loan to whomever our rivals are in a given season? Incompetence-based espionage strategy, put the January-April data into a fancy PowerPoint and Nourry will be all over it

Yeah has to be Birmingham for comedy / karma for those nob heads. Would like to see SW stay up so it detracts attention from Marti and Rohl is the guy other clubs go for. Don’t really care about the other one, but like Plymouth for all the reasons above - a good well run club that deserve success and have been f’ed by the Stoke circus.

Stoke going would be funny but unlikely. Suppose that makes it Hudds or Bburn, not bothered who!

Next season - 4 key players for us to keep
at 07:46 24 Apr 2024

Completely agree. So many of these players have shown their level and character over the last two years. Reward the few good ones (Field, Dunne) and cut ties with the rest. Marti’s managerial performance has masked so much sh**. Please please please can we not do the QPR thing of getting hyped up by a good period and thinking we’re there now and all is well.

Have hope Nourry won’t, but still worried we’ll go and QPR the whole thing with big contracts for Willock, Hayden. Re-signing Begovic. Really hope I’m wrong.

Yeah the idea a play off team will be 'resting' when they're not officially in the play offs is...interesting. You'd also be trying to build momentum and confidence before the semi finals. Fancy WBA up there.

I'd be very worried if i was them. Personally think it's between them, Brum, and Plymouth for the final spot. SW will stay up imo, long term momentum and Rohl will get them at least 3 more points

Blackburn played like a team that thought they were safe, just like us at Hull. Still dont see all of SW/Bham/Plym/Bburn getting more than 50. Hudds gone. We'll be fine

We're all going to catastrophise the scenario in which we go down, but this is they key point - it's so many dominoes that need to fall against us now. The odds are pretty clear, and the house always wins!

Though he's dumber than a dish towel and makes decisions you'd lambast a u23s player for making, his bite and pace over 5-10 yards makes a big difference at home in particular. Field/Hayden pretty similar profiles and we saw at Hull they can get outrun, which Colback helps mitigate.

Will miss 15-20 games next season through being an idiot and being mid 30s, need another couple of options in there for sure.

Better slightly deeper imo, where he has touch more space and time. Certainly the best passer of the ball but the speed of the league does seem to catch him out at times, but you can forgive that for a guy in his adaptive phase. He'll figure it out, you dont play in the CL for Ajax for nothing.

Also allows Willock to be central which he clearly prefers, though that problem unlikely to be the case next year. Much like Frey, let them be until autumn time - no pre-season a huge factor.
