Weekend Championship Games
at 17:05 13 Apr 2024

Bristol pulled it back 10 minutes of extra time. Only consolation of the entire weekend.

Am I right in thinking that Adam Crozier, currently in the news for the post office scandal, insisted that we should have points deducted over the Alejandro Faurlin affair?

Probably the best night of the season for us.

All those doom mongers saying we'll need over 50 points to stay up, those saying after Saturday and even after last night that we are doomed. Come on, which of the teams below us now will end up above us?

Wrong way round
at 15:42 7 Apr 2024

I was disturbed from the very off yesterday when Wednesday turned us around and made us kick the wrong way. Does anybody have the stats on how well or badly we do when we go the opposite way. It didn't feel right and we certainly did not play right.

First time I think Marti got it completely wrong. Starting Sinclair and just playing long balls in the channels, soaked up with ease by their big, horrible defenders. We should have been playing round them, instead it just kept coming back at us. And when Armstrong did get through he was totally isolated. He really only works as an impact sub, and is really more of a winger than a number 9. I know the other options aren't good, but that one clearly doesn't work.

Away support

Perhaps our not very decent ground is part of the appeal. After the bland experience of most prem stadiums, Loftus Road feels splendidly real, visceral, authentic, which I'm sure appeals to lots of the tourist types who are undoubtedly making up the numbers. Our inner city, council estate setting and cramped, close to the action ground are to my mind our biggest assets.

has this season been frustrating or exciting.

It might not have been enjoyable but it has been incredibly involving, compelling, maybe even exciting. Why do we think the attendances have been so high? If it were another season of mid table mediocrity we would n't have taken three thousand to Leicester or sold out at home to Rotherham.
If we stay up and it is still a big ion, than I would take this over some of the lacklustre dross we've been force fed in recent years.

I would say better than mid table mediocracy. Painful at times, joyous at others. The end result will determine the final verdict, but the fact that I still really care, study the table, look at the fixtures shows to me it has not been a boring season. If we stay up this will have been a good season.

Some of you lot seem to think we support Bayern bloody Munich. We were the away team, playing against a side ten (roughly) places above us in the league, we were the better side, created much the better chances and never really looked like conceding. Al the teams around us lost, and we have just gone a point closer to survival, with (almost) the best goal difference of any team in the shake up. I'll take that any day.

Far too negative on here. We've been the better side, created better chances, given little away. Dykes I agree has been poor, but overall that has been a decent performance away from home.

Project Big Ben?

Too much negativity on her. Whether any of this will happen I have no idea. But a state of the art, comfortable, modern multi use facility could easily be built on the current footprint with a similar capacity, which has always been my chosen option. The big issue is whether anyone will fund that, as it does not generate much extra revenue, and will be very costly. But a stadium in White City today is a properly attractive proposition, in a way it was not a decade ago. This area is our biggest asset, and if that means, a bit of bijou and boutique. Go for it.

Frey
at 21:09 25 Feb 2024

Personally I thought Frey was poor, seemed to be a yard or ten off nearly every ball played up, ran around pointlessly and barely won a headed challenge all game and mainly contributed by charging at their keeper, with no chance of affecting play. But then he nearly scored. He is the mirror image of Dykes, good at the things Dykes can't do, (score goals) rubbish at all he other stuff, link up play, flicks on etc.

Did not know I would be this affected. We have just lost the essence, the soul, the spirit of our special football club. I got to know Stan a little and he was the greatest, most wayward, most carefree human being I have ever encountered. A giant has just left us. I will cry for days. Love you Stan, I will always love you Stan.

Stanley is the man, not just the footballer, but the man I have loved most in my life. At first as a teenager watching his genius, later on getting to know him a little, and then latterly helping to raise money for his care. When he goes we will have lost the single footballer who bore the soul of our beloved club. Joyous, wayward, wonderful. We will never see his like again. My heart is full.

If we end up in Greenford my support would whither away after fifty plus years, and I know I am not alone. Maybe a new generation of out of town Rangers fans will take over, but those of us tied to W12 by family, history and culture will not go to the boondocks.

Another club in London manages to secure space for new ground?
at 09:11 20 Feb 2024

The most horrendously violent night I've ever known. Every London club turned out to defend little Barnet and the Loft boys were corralled under the one stand, which became like Rourke's Drift. Non stop fighting, no discernible police presence, triage on the side of the pitch, completely mad. Still have nightmares about it now
