Not at all like Langley!
He never wanted to leave but we had no choice as he was about the only player we had worth any money!
He and Ollie made this VERY clear at the 20th anniversary bash last October.

I used to work with a young lad in the early 90’s who had one of those.
Anyway, one Friday evening he left work in Basingstoke to visit his girlfriend at Uni in Cardiff, fought the traffic on the M4 only to arrive to be told he was dumped!
Understandably very upset went outside to find his car had been stolen and had to get the train home the next day!
Police found it trashed a few days later!
In a construction office back in those days you can imagine how that went down, sympathy was sadly lacking, in fact I was almost crying with laughter!

Saw a few of these on the M27 this morning, wonder if there’s an event somewhere?

Think the stars are for World Cups only!
I agree that it’s like watching us getting promoted under Redcrap and I couldn’t wait to see the back of him either!
IMHO, the best possible outcome is to win the bloody thing no matter how bad a watch it is and Southgate to resign with his head held high.

That was my first car as well, not a flash one like that though, big standard 1,100, followed by a Triumph Dolomite, unfortunately only a 1,500, couldn’t afford to buy or insure an 1,850 especially the Sprint version!
Company cars for the next 20-30 years so a series of dull Fords, Vauxhalls and Peugeots followed!
Was only talking to some friends about this subject recently, can remember the number plate of your first car or two from 40 years ago but can’t remember my last one from 4 years ago!

Book recommendation

Read all the Shardlake books, really enjoyed them.
Last year read the Ken Follett 20th Century trilogy, it's fiction mixed in with real events.
Like to have a fiction and non fiction book on the go, currently The Body by Bill Bryson and Andrew Marr, A History of Modern Britain (the follow on from WW2 to end of 20th century), need a fiction book to go with them as they’re both a bit on the heavy side!

Rolling Stones for me, early 80’s Wembley Empire Pool (were they still in their prime then?!), turned it down, “ who wants to see a load of middle age men?”!
Regret it now, don’t care about the song.
Turned down Queen too!

A video of my Alzheimer’s walk yesterday.
Don’t worry, it’s only about 2 minutes long!
Many thanks again to those of you who sponsored me and it’s still not too late if anyone else fancies it.
Cheers,
Simon
