I know Keepers don't count against the 22 registered player squad size cap for League One and Two (in the same way under 21s don't) so I wonder if it means that. Just been explained in a sentence rather having a section for just him. [Post edited 11 Sep 15:31]

I'm imagine that Oldham will get as much of the Away stand as possible once the netted off areas are in place.
York, it doesn't matter. Their average away following was 750 ish last year and they took 1600 to Halifax. Our game against them this year won't have the jeopardy or stakes of last year so they won't get close to the capacity of the away stand. |

Speaking to an Oldham supporting friend of mine, he says that Adeeko was with them for a little while this pre-season, but he went back to Wigan and they signed a different Wigan midfielder, Payne. Seems to think they were looking for a different profile of midfielder than Adeeko. |

I don't like to revel in other club misfortune, but if this season goes bad for them the headloss from Matt Uggla when he gets the blame for it is going to be very entertaining. |

I know Nils had taken a knock. but it sounded like the plan was always for him to go back to do part of pre season with Brighton/Brighton U21.
IW mentioned that we'd been allowed him early specifically for the spain trip.
I think Whatmuff is pre-seasoning with city so I don't think it is unusual.
Spaven feels like it is a development signing. Effectively a first contract for a scholar if we had our academy running. though potentially with more pedigree. [Post edited 28 Jul 13:04]

My guess would be it is more that they are looking to develop Spaven for the future, so wed don't end up constantly having to use loan keepers.
His interview sounds like he know he is here to be third choice while he learns and get experience of the Men's game.
Doubt he'll be taking up much of a wage, effectively the same as a scholar getting their first contract. Worth the money if it pans out. |

That thinskinned toddler make me even more grateful for the Ogdens.
Can see that relationship between the owners and the fans becoming even toxic real quick. My prediction for the season is there'll be some lifetime bans handed out for some hurty words said on the internet soon if this is his reaction to valid criticism of an obviously poor set of decisions. |

Bielsa make sense when you think about. Not in any realistic sense, but Leeds fans love Bielsa.
On a slightly related note I found out that someone at work is Salford City fan at work, but just a Salford City fan....not a Man U fan that doesn't go to games or a Bury fan that doesn't have a club anymore (Pub teams don't count). Just a Salford City fan! Didn't think they existed. Gonna go search for Unicorn or Big Foot or something now. |

It's because it couldn't have been as planned or prepped as well other seasons I guess, being in the play offs delays are the transfer dealing by about three weeks till we knew what level of player we were after. Then we effectively don't have a manager for a couple of weeks, new manager is bound to change some of the planning. With regards to the 4 friendlies my assumption is the Tranmere game is being treated as taking the place of one of the friendlies just because of the compressed pre-season even though I assume it isn't being approached as a friendly. (Isn't it good that poor tired little Sunderland and any of the other 26 prem team playing in europe don't have to play an extra cup game) [Post edited 22 Jul 14:54]

Some people are just bad in front of camera, especially if they haven't don't a lot of interviews, which at this age he likely has. Most young players entry interviews aren't great likely due to confidence, it isn't necessarily anything to do with attitude or manners. [Post edited 17 Jul 13:44]

Nope no sign of him. I counted 13 players in total, no Hendo or Edwards
Also saw Lillis in the video, so looks like he is staying.
The optimist in me is thinking, do you know what is a good way to launch the new Home kit in an hour.......a picture of Hendo in it with an announcement that he has re-signed to go along with it.
This idea is blind optimism and based on no actual evidence at all. |

I must say the announcement of the signing of a contract extension with our shirts supplier (without even a preview of either kit) first thing on the day that the most people are checking the site and social media for a different kind of signing is a level of shithousery that I appreciate! With the exception of maybe Hendo (not that I necessarily thing he is re-signing, just think his circumstance are slightly different to Smith and Edwards) I would imagine that probably means the other two aren't going to re-sign. Would have though there would have been announcement otherwise.
I'm hoping there will be a couple of players announced tomorrow once existing contracts have expired. |

I know things take time....and I'm not even expect signings announcement or anything
New management are just bedding in and we've got to make sure we are getting the right people. That is the most important thing.
But at least announce friendly, a hint at the new shirt design or new pie filling we are considering or something.
My dopamine starved brain needs something/anything to engage with!

I have mixed feeling about him going there as I hope Jim continues to have success wherever he goes (not if he ever ends up at that pub team in Bury though), however Stockport's owner has bought three of the local non league teams, Stockport Town and Cheadle Town/Cheadle Town Stingers(Cheadle Town women's team) and this summer he has pulled Stockport town from the Northwest counties league which basically folds them and he has immediately disbanded the Cheadle Town Stingers so that Stockport County Women's team can play at their Cheadle Town's ground, which is all feel pretty grubby from a local football perspective. If he is going there (which he looks to be) That would be the worry for Jim, is he is replacing a manager that just missed out on getting them to the Championship who the fans liked and didn't want to leave. From the both the club and the supporter point of view that is a recipe for not being given a lot of leeway for a slow start. This is a time to build season for Stockport, this is get to the Championship to help ease the cost of building a new stand and updating an old one kind of season and that doesn't shout giving a manager time.
And as we saw with the style of play he likes in the beginning getting players up to speed and the system to work (admittedly in the worst financial and club circumstances with a lower standard of player) can lead to a lot of directionless pass it round the back and do nothing frustrating and boring football for a while, that will turn a crowd and a board that have had a lot of success recently. I don't know what the style of play Stockport have been playing or how much quicker League one players will pick it up so that could mitigate the risk of faltering performances.
For Jim, if he's is going there I wish him success for everything he's done over the last few years. [Post edited 5 Jun 14:35]
