I like him and support what he’s trying to do. He has a clear vision for how the club should be run and is putting the right foundations in place to achieve it. He’s modern, forward thinking, and seems willing to learn and adapt.
Under Lee Hoos, it felt like the club had almost given up at times, with an attitude of, “We’ve tried that before and it didn’t work, so nothing will.” Now we have someone who wants to drive the club forward and is actively putting plans in place to make that happen.
It’s an extremely tough league, but I genuinely believe things will click for us eventually if we stay the course.
My only real gripe is that we lack physicality. We don’t have enough height in the squad and too often get outmuscled both on the ground and in the air. That said, when you’re working within a budget, it’s difficult to build a squad full of complete players. |

"I think he’s doing alright and I support him. Bringing down the squad’s average age and unearthing hidden talent isn’t easy, but he’s giving it a really good go. That said, I do wish he’d balance building for the future with getting results right now by adding a solid core of experienced players; not necessarily just older ones, but those with plenty of games under their belt. I love that we’re signing some of League One’s top talent, and I hope that continues this summer. There’s also clear room to improve the team’s height and athleticism." It’s not an easy job but he’s trying and I believe it’ll click one season. |

I’ve not always wanted every manager or player we’ve signed, but I’ve always tried to get behind them 100%. I just can’t with Walsh.
Goalkeeper is not a position you gamble with. A good keeper, like Paddy Kenny, can win you points on his own over a season turning defeats into draws and draws into wins in games you probably lose on balance. Even an average Championship level keeper can do a solid job.
Playing Walsh as number one in the Championship in the hope a League One or League Two club eventually bids for him so we make a relatively small profit is madness. Send him out on loan to League Two, let him learn his trade, gain experience, and maybe he’ll become a decent / great keeper in the future.
Having an experienced, half-decent keeper wouldn’t hurt our model it would help it. Younger outfield players become worth more when they’re competing higher up the table instead of constantly losing games.
If you had to carry a weak link in a 4-4-2, not many people would choose the goalkeeper position. You’d probably hide it on the wing instead?
Why risk relegation and lose millions just to potentially make a few hundred thousand? Loan him out, let him improve, and bring him back stronger. It’s not Walsh’s fault it’s the model. But including the goalkeeper in that model, when it’s not working is just stubborn and not best for anyone. |

I’d like the signing of Kalidou Sidibé. French Ligue 2 is still a decent standard, and we’re definitely missing height in the squad after conceding the second-highest number of headed goals against us?? By the looks of it, he can also cover at centre-back, and hopefully he’ll be able to break up play and move the ball forward quickly. |
