I know this will go down like a lead balloon but it’s just my opinion. Like every Saints’ fan I hated the last season we were in the premiership. We just couldn’t compete, couldn’t afford the caliber of player plus manager necessary for that division. Even with this squad and excellent manager it will still be difficult.
Conversely, I’ve loved the championship - super competitive, anyone can beat anyone. I Looked forward to every week.
When the top clubs wanted to form a European super league I hated it at the time but now I’d be happy if they all disappeared. It’s not a level playing field in that division.
So do I care if we go up? Well the only annoying thing is that if we don’t, half our players would leave. In short I prefer watching the championship any day. |

Do those who call us happy clappers (so annoying - but I guess you get a kick out of putting down anyone who thinks differently to you) really think we are happy with where we’re at?! We’re not. We just want to stop pushing the panic button during lean times. Some of us can see positive change, albeit not at the pace we would like. We all support the same team. No one is happy but some of us want to give the manager a fair shot. |

Us ivory tower brigade still have doubts, like all fans David, but unlike some we don’t slag off a manager who in one season changed the way we played, rebuilt the squad and team and got us promoted. You have called the team, useless, Shiite, garbage throughout the seasons… I know this is an opinion based forum and everyone has a right to sound off, and the fans have certainly been put through the mill over the years, but you seem to hate the team, even when they’re doing relatively well.
