We're down a man and 2 goals behind and we have had sooooo many chances. It's that that's killing us. Got to bloody well score from 16 chances....surely! |

Except for 1-0.... and 2-0.... and 3-0.... I don't really like 2-1 either, and 3-1 always makes me feel a bit nervous. |

I didn't know this until I went searching but there are lists of the number of injured players by club. Unless I'm misreading what I found, there are 8 other clubs in the Championship with the same number (or more) of players unavailable selection as we have, some, like Millwall and Burnley have lists that look like Great War memorials.
I know it's not great and we should be doing better, but we're not alone in this situation. I'm not sure - because I don't know enough - how much the club is to blame for this, but if we should be sacking people then so should a lot of other clubs! [Post edited 12 Sep 19:28]

I don't know, maybe I'm imagining it but these match threads seem really negative to me, a difficult read at least. When I follow the match stats and look at the league table (it's very very early days, I know), things don't seem anywhere near as bad as the tone in this space. WBA have one shot on target and score, we go in at half-time 1-1 to one of the only two teams above us in the league at the moment. I don't see how our feckless, failing, inadequate and decimated by injury team is managing these gravity defying feats but long may it continue, I suppose. If we lose today and everybody below us wins we'll tumble to 7th or 8th! Does anyone recall the last few seasons?  |

We've also just drawn away mid-week and we're 4th in the league, albeit at this early stage. From one perspective at least, not so much to moan about. |

We don't know the severity of these injuries yet do we? Also, other clubs have clusters of injuries. I don't see why this is automatically either a full-blown catastrophe or a reason to be looking to blame someone yet.
My observation is that this message board has been pretty prone to negativity in match threads - the only time I'm here, fair play, and actually it's been a pretty good start to the season. Let's just see where we are injury-wise at the international break. We know that Julien and his team are trying to be super cautious. |
