What can you say?...this, I guess, is the real price in this league of not beating Bolton and (yes) Preston at home. The teams that Matter if we're really going to have a fine season. It confirms (if confirmation is needed) how important Lincoln Home next Sat is. |

2-0 to the Parachute Payments and Cheats. Just ridiculous. And the 'Parachute Payments' are far more relevant than the 'Cheats' - as it were. |

The Lincoln game in particular looms large...in any season, whatever the situation, that is the one that will always matter most come May. This weekend, we venture south with hope and rightful moral superiority - but I still can't see it. 0-2 to Soton - a scoreline which also followed a (way more) fantastic win many moons ago..... |

Really liked this - thank you for posting. He was a tad earnest, and his audio was a bit out of sync - but fair play to him. Loved the detail on the pubs, brought back memories, and he caught the vibe really well. |

Is that right - not even on emergency recall if (say for academic argument sake) we had a severe injury list? |

'We're so crocked it's unbelievable'. It is. |

It was the endless references to 'QP-R' that got me. Got to say though (ignoring the misplaced visuals) not a bad summary of the LR situation for those not in the know. |

A bit down about today - a wake-up call? - but got to be really pleased with the progress Julien and his team are making overall. Look, there were seasons gone by where the second tier was lauded as unpredictable. Not any more. The autumn leaves haven't really started to fall and you can confidently pick your top 8 right now: (in no partic order) West Ham, 'Boro, Brum, Wolves, Spycheats, Swansea, Wrexham and (yes) probably still Parachute Paymented Burnley. All with stronger, deeper, monied squads that can push from autumn through the winter months and on into spring. For us, the prospect of a quiet season is probably likely - which would be both a disappointment and yet an achievement. So (stop laughing at the back) if ever we should turn our positive gaze to this mythical thing called the FA Cup competition this, imho, would be as good a season as any. [Post edited 17 Oct 17:37]

Competitive advantage, you see. As proved conclusively over recent years... |

Great stuff. Did he recite the Dennis Cirkin song? |

Brilliant as ever, Clive. Your Cardiff/Blackpool edition from 21/22 remains The Masterpiece for me (and still needs a wider audience, including politicians) but this was superb, taking me from the South Coast heat to the melancholy of the Ewood Park environs. I tend to lean toward the west of Edinburgh in Scottish football, but have to admit Sunshine on Leith, for its shear emotion, has the edge on the Hearts Song (imho). Would love to attend the Edinburgh Derby one day, preferably at Tynecastle or even Hampden again. |

He was. I remember the 4-0 home win against Man City in 1992 - Andy Andy Impey was unplayable that day. |

Watford too?! I'm all for fair play and propriety, accountability etc - but don't like that! |

A 2pt deduction, £100 fine and a £50OM levy against whoever their opponents were on the day they secured their first title in 44 years. Shared guilt. |

Might have been covered elsewhere (apols), but is there any scope for an emergency recall at any point this season for Daniel Bennie from Tannadice? Just thinking in terms of..(let me wildly speculate)..any injury crisis with our current strikers (perish such a thought). Just asking for a friend. [Post edited 22 Sep 8:08]

I'd say anything north of six points is a triumph. |
