Coming to the end of the season, our players and others are tired. They are under constant pressure and they are still delivering the goods. Fellows has played well this season but seems a little jaded. Archer finally got one and we now take a 3-0 win as routine! Never as a Saints supporter ( 50 plus years and losing count,) were there such days. We will make the playoffs, not automatic promotion and if we don't go up, I'll be disappointed but not heartbroken because my Saints are back, punching above their weight. Thank you all for a great season, however it ends. |

It has been a very good evening. I spent it singing and dancing with an impossibly pretty young woman at the Bataclan where the Psychedelic Furs were quite brilliant and thought it could hardly get any better. I just hope we have somebody ready to do the job who isn't Russell Martin. |

I am glad that Still is working hard on fitness levels. He has to. Players have in the past few years come to Southampton for a good skive, so it seems. Those who earn their money will improve and improve their value and that of the club so it is to be welcomed. It will also weed out the rubbish. I think Slack Jack is a waste of space but if he starts to be a useful player under Still, I would like to see it, wouldn't we all? |

We could field a team of central defenders and yet, we leak goals horribly. None of them in the last few years seems to have had the least defensive capability. The stuation is much as it was three years ago. No strike force and no goalkeeper. Right now we need another Lambert and another Niemi so we can get away with playing nine central defenders. The squad situation is laughable. We used to be astute. The Southampton way, buy cheap, improve ,sell dear doesn't work if you cannot show the world that step two has had any effect. I struggle to find any player in the last few years that we have brought on and turned into a top class footballer, something that we used to do with regularity and something that kept the club financially viable. Money is tight, the world over and the non football flim flam pushed by the current owners will go out of fashion soon and leave us with big money problems. Strip the squad to the bone instead and make our few good players work for a living. |

Wrexham and Pompey. Six points down in the first month. We haven't got a team fit for the Championship and it would be delusional to think that we have. Bazunu? For Christ's sake. He was bloody useless two seasons ago and he's a damn' site worse now. The rest of this sorry rabble wouldn't know a goalmouth if you kicked them into one. I wish it were not so but we are closer to relegation fodder than promotion candidates.
