Could have done with them winning and having a cup final on their minds when we go there. |

Ok, $hitting myself again now after a marginally more relaxed 19 hours or so. |

...and are both likely to be here next season. Realistically I don't think we can afford Hayden, so we just need a solid back up as, much as I love Field and appreciate Colback, their collective yellow card count will no doubt verge on the astronomical. |

haha that reminds me, our group did a couple of seasons in the Paddock when it went from seats to standing for a while - we were right by the tunnel, and christened it "Dissers corner" - partly to show we were down with the new hip hop lingo of the time; and partly cos there was a group of regulars who did nothing but moan and slate everyone (ours and theirs) all game. But I'm sure that wasn't you CCJ! Had a very entertaining run in with Steve Sedgeley, we managed to wind him right up. |

Random mid 70s games - Paddock Late 70s into 80s (first ST) - Loft (standing) From going all seater for around 25 years - Upper Loft (a few block / seat moves) From Warnock promotion season onwards - R block Done SAR a fair bit for occasional games in seasons where I didn't have an ST. Did the season in School End lower when the Loft was being developed...plus again the odd random special ticket offer game. So only School End upper where I've never been (for obvious reasons - I didn't bother with those 'semi-lockdown games'). |

Masterful. I for one am grateful you keep doing these, and only wish I knew how to help make them (ahem) 'go viral.' |

Couldn't help but notice at Hull last Saturday what a nattily attired away following we had. All manner of sartorial styles were on display...double denim with beanie, neo-Mod, retired raver...and even amongst those who went for more trad terrace clobber, the selections were choice (eg a dizzying array of retro tops; and those who opted for Stoney clearly had an eye for the deeper recesses of that brand's catalogue cave). QPR - $hit but local - and well-dressed |

Seconded. Bar cheap possession concession on half way leading to second goal, I thought Sat was the best Willock has played in several weeks; and yes Andersen, who I like, was poor and needed to be hooked at HT. Ref the striker debate...not sure we have anything to lose trying Willock there tbh - 'false' or otherwise, at least he can finish. |

Nix - re the first one...I do a lot of kids football coaching, and for several years one of my colleagues was a specialist GK coach who is now head GK coach at Sunderland, having previously held the same position at Leeds and Notts Co . I remember a long discussion with him about just this after I saved a shot using the technique AB did on Sat. I did it instinctively, so then asked him about it - afraid I can't remember the detail of the reply, but he said it was the 'right thing' to do, there was a very good reason why keepers go with the right hand in a situation like this (I think it was something to do with getting much more spring to improve % chance of reaching the ball). . I've watched out for it since, and the majority of pro keepers do it. |

The results across the whole division have been completely crazy these last 2 or 3 weeks - so much so that I think who everyone is playing now is almost irrelevant, you have no idea which of the myriad versions of each team is gonna turn up. It's still in our own hands - if we blow the golden opportunity we created for ourselves after the Easter weekend, devastating as it'll be, I kinda fee we'll deserve it. |

Pretty much exactly how I saw it Alex. My half time messages to mates not attending more or less said "we're losing to a better team with a great forward line"...and full time touched on Smyth's missed chances, the fact that we didn't give up but they stayed in second gear, and thank goodness for Nakhi Wells (seeing those other results coming through knowing as early as 30 minutes in we were well beaten was excruciating). Bit surprised with your ultra low marks - given you've acknowledged we didn't cave in / give up. Several 5s for me. Agree re Andersen tho, had to be replaced. Best / most interested Willock's looked for a while. Decent cameo from Cannon, can see him retaining his place for the run in as Marti goes a bit more orthodox. |

Doesn't show the other sitter Smyth missed, about 2 mins after half time, when we looked fired up and Marti had us playing 10-15 yards further up the pitch. Would've made it 2-1... Also doesn't show Willock's cheap concession of possession on the half way line just before the second - which I think helped catch our defenders a bit flat footed. |

Massive part of match days for me from the late 70s for a good decade or so. Shine on Tom. |

I was living in Hull at the time of the 5-1, had stayed on for a little while after going to uni there. Couldn't believe my luck when the draw came out. These were tough times for the Tigers, and obviously after the comfortable 3-0 first leg win for the higher ranked team, neither home or away fans were too fussed about a cold night on the terraces for the return. Me? I could walk to the ground, and as I had very limited funds at the time to get back south for home games. local aways were a must. Thinking "this is the smallest Rs away turn out I've ever been part of" (and 39 years on I think it still is), I took time out in the second half to count the numbers in the away end. I have never forgotten the number. 132 hardy souls (apologies if you were in the bogs and I missed you). |
