I always thought that, but after listening to a lot of ex pros on Undr The Cosh it sounds like its also common for the player to take a pay cut while on loan.
Maybe that pay cut is in the details for app fees and other bonuses, but I've heard it more than once, so there must be something in it.
-- Explains why SWP preferred to stay in the bomb squad during his time at the QPR retirement home funded by Kia
Unfortunately Poku and Dembele are our players, so we should probably try and get them fit, develop them and play them.
As good as our track record is with getting legends back into the club, maybe we stop talking about this one in case someone from the club sees the kids talking on social media and also thinks it might be a good idea.
If this did happen (luckily it wont) Imagine I'm Poku, Saito or Dembele.
Am I going to feel inspired if someone turned up on loan to take my place in the squad on x10 more than me a week, stopping me from playing/developing, for what?
Maybe QPR finish two or three places higher?
Its a lose lose from my point of view, but what do i know?
You are right of course. I think my anger should be directed at those clubs offering long contracts on massive wages for a player they aren't going to use. It's not Raheem's fault, anyone would sign up to that deal.
I remember seeing some video of Scott Carson mucking around in the dressing room for City and everyone saying how great it is to have a "character" knocking around keeping spirits high.
It just blows my mind that clubs will spend millions for these cheerleaders to be around the first team, but never play! Ultimately I'm jealous!
Yeah, I reckon this is just what this team needs at the moment.
The SWP experiment worked so well, lets bring in a player with no interest in playing football in the twilight of his career to "help" all our younger pros see what they can get out of the game.
Having someone around the training ground earning x10 more than anyone else can only be good for morale can't it?
This ^^ is the exact opposite of what QPR should be doing as a club, please lets stop talking about it
The main cause of potholes is the sh1tbox way they fix them. This country is reaping the rewards of decades of under investment in key infrastructure.
It's years and years of low hanging fruit decisions coming to bear. We could resurface the road, or we could just patch it? Do that enough times and our roads look like Beruit.
Having driven in Europe I can testify the UK's road system is very poor.
It's not just the council. Since we privatised all our services, the Gas, Sewerage, Water and Power all do the bare minimum, getting away with sometimes Victorian infrastructure.
While heavier cars don't help, lets not lose sight of the real cause.
I'm pretty certain that Smyth is a bit like Craig Bellamy, and the constant diving and chirping winds up some refs so much that it biases some of their decisions...
Either that or the ref had been promised some tickets to the Oscars, or some other Hollywood event
If we wait a few months it'll be a major point on Disney+ Loads of stirring background music, some Hollywood A lister going mental watching a stream in Beverley Hills.
Then it'll cut to some overweight unemployed Welsh bloke, who doesn't see his kids anymore, but he's written a folk song about how much he loves bstard Wrexham
18-24 months is longer than average isn't it for Championship managers/coaches?
Not trying to be awkward, but I think this issue is more than just the manager.
Personally, I think these players look unfit. I'm not sure that the squad is that thin that we couldn't have used our subs in a better way to manage fitness.
Don't put players on the bench if you have no interest in playing them, if the coach is trying to make a statement put more than one GK on there, or name less...
I'd like to see the club stick Mr Jolly out in front of the camera again and explain why I can't see my favourite players every week, and how someone holding an exploded hamstring is a "contact" injury, but its OK because the U8's and ladies team all have 100% availability, so really when you look at QPR are doing really well, and if you disagree with me you can see me in the canteen. --No need to bring your dinner...
I know its a bit of fun for SKY, but have a look at this
Charlie Austin was a great striker and it looks like Chris Ramsey wasn't a bad coach either, training should be fun as well!
I'd have loved to see Les on the field imparting knowledge into the likes of a Sinclair Armstrong, maybe this did go on, you'd like to think that one of the best #9's in the game had something to say to players coming through
If Field leaves it'll be undisclosed, so we are all basically guessing. Most likely ~£500k which isn't really worth it, as could we replace him for that money?
The only way it makes sense is if he wants to leave and is on a high wage that we want to shift.
The club does need to sell to feed the conveyor belt though and we don't have many fit surplus to requirements players
He'll probably get a rollocking from SKY for that. I'm 100% sure they are mandated to talk up a game even if its a steaming pile...
Those co-comms get a decent wedge, a lot more than I thought.
On the official stream you know when its really bad as Sints just goes quiet. He never really criticises, but he might go quiet.
Usually when one of our wingers gets into a great position and either delivers it to the first man, or row Z behind the goal. I reckon as a former winger of some quality this is his biggest bugbear.
