I also grew up with that Middlesex team. Loved Norman Cowans but my about favourite was Phil Edmunds. Left arm spin is magical always but he was mesmerising and also looked like he didn't give a cluck! Inspired me to.become a spinner and ay the ripe old age of 55 am still twirling in second team league cricket. For a boy brought up in Shep Bush cricket has given me so much. Sad to see it's decline in inner London. I am actually quite well known on the circuit for being hit into nearly all the tennis courts in London. Cricket pitch adjacent to tennis courts then invariably I will be deposited there. But, I can always get them next ball!! |

I'm 3000% happy clappy on this one. We have not had many special days in my lifetime (I'm 54) and that is right up there. It was adversity and triumph and played with everyone's emotions. I went with my best friends. Friends I had stood in the loft would marvelling at John Byrnes mullet and Martin Allen's ferocity and friends that love our special club. My dad knowing I would be on the lash sat in another part of the stand with my five year old son. That boy is now a fervent QPR fan and he has live through Fleetwood town away and many others. We need these memories, they bind us together and offer some hope that this tinpot club can once again give us that rush of emotion that that cannot be matched. Everybody you speak to had an excellent angle for the goal . That is because there was not a bad angle. Where ever you were time stood still everything fell silent until the net bellowed and a sound wall was unleashed. I don't really think about Derby or their fans they were just there. You wait till someone mentions our 6-0 win versus Chelsea. I could write a book about John Byrne's goal and the emotions involved in the eternal battle between goiod and evil. I like writing about QPR Clive. Giz a job! |

I thought Vale was the only one who looked like unlocking their defence. Some lovely one touch passing that was not always read by others. Completely irrationally I associate him with Chelsea and he has to work harder to get credit from me but he showed a lot of promise yesterday. I think I would have liked to see us mix it up and go a bit more direct to Kone. He does well in 50:50 situations and this would gave enabled us to play furter up the pitch a bit more. BC kept a high line as we did not have the pace to hurt them. |

I have seen this at non league with even Hampton developing a loyal teenage following. It has also coincides with some rather silly wannabe hooligan behaviour from some teams. Saw a 16 year old oppo fan offer out to a 10 year old at Hampton recently!! Bigger problems with actual crowd trouble elsewhere. Chelmsford etc. |

Never ever forget this. I was a primary school teacher at the time in the locality and one of the parents of a child in my class filmed me running towards the Chelsea section to taunt them. I thought we had zero chance so had been in the pub since noon. Can't have been a school night. Can it?

Come on. Some positivity needed. Before the game was all about Bannon and how he was going to destroy us. Now people are saying we are lacklustre. We have played some lovely football, look secure at the back and are well placed for second half. We have actually been playing quicker and with more one touch which has enabled us to open them up. Poku looks excellent today. Much more confident. Let's look up to the sky and not to the ground. It really is a lovely day. |

I would agree with this. Kone was poor at WBA but not yesterday. I watched him very carefully in the first half and he won nearly every 50-50 shielded the ball well distributed it with goid completion. With that in mind bit of an odd time to start a thread criticising him. I think it is important to remember where a number of our players have come from. Certainly Kone and Burrel are now playing at the highest level that they ever have. This is their first season at this level and in this context I believe they have done well. There you go a bit of positivity for you. |

Also at the game and would agree with this. Kone played target man really well in first half. Winning ball laying it off etc. Hayden also looked good. Broke up play well and played simply. Agree with others that we are missing Chair. We are very rushed in final third and just kept giving the ball to them or kicking it out for a goal kick. Chair's technical ability gives him that bit more time and this creates space for others. Today was bad but worryingly nowhere near as bad as WBA.
Have to say Josh Sargents movement was really good and not surprised he scored. |

I like Flex. Brings the energy at all times of the day. Charlie Brown and DJ Majestik very good but CB no longer there. Andy Mills good also. |

My 17 year old son truly has the bug. I promise him every year we will follow our cup odyssey home and away all the way. We actually enjoyed Fleetwood as they were very welcoming even though we were worse than awful. So I would like a long distance away day please. As you will well know this promise has not as yet cost me much money. Here's hoping this is the year. |

Aha. Used to be the Ravensworth arms. Drank in there quite a lot. Was the polar opposite yo a gastro pub and was small but had a a nice pool table there. Think local post station made up a lot of it's clientele. Was a serviceable pub. Set back from the main road and always felt a bit geographically isolated even though it was not. |

I simply find it hard to believe that Tuck is not being picked. I can only think it is because he is on loan and they want to play contract players. Although writing that it makes no sense. He is an upgrade on our current centre midfield. We have not won in nine and I dont think he has been in the squad for the last 5 or 6. |
