We did not go from Hoops to White shirts in the 48/49 season we tried Arsenal type shirts but blue instead of red (You will have to take my word for the colours) I attach a photo of the squad for that year. Reg Allen still here. Sorry posting the photo too difficult for me.!!!!

Who is the Greatest QPR Goalie of All Time?

Reg Allen was sold to Man. U. for a world record fee in 1949-50 of £11.000. We had quite a few keepers between Allen and Drinkwater. namely Harry Brown. Reg Saphin, Stan Gullen. Dave Underwood and Mike Pinner.

Allen was a bit of a flashy keeper. I assume you mean Ron Springett and not Peter. I would rate Seaman as more reliable than both.

I am an old Ranger, first visit 1946-7 season and have seen all keepers from Allen to Smithies, in my humle opinion Parkes was the best day in day out.

It is not Ellerslie because in those days they had 3 rows of seats in front of the stand.
