But unless I missed it he never actually said “I didn’t know the rules”. For the sake of transparency it would have been better if he had (if true).
What he said was “I should have known them”. That can either mean he should have known them and he did, or he should have known them and he didn’t... |

If that was the case I’m surprised the club didn’t make even more of it – young, inexperienced, mostly worked in other countries…
It was clear from the Arbitration Panel report that the club was aware that what they were doing wasn’t above board, so I still find it difficult to imagine that Eckert didn’t know. |

Don’t want to beat the guy up but having watched it twice I’m still not clear what he’s saying. When he says about the rules that he “should have known them” (04:32), does he mean that he wasn’t aware of the rule, or he was aware of it but deliberately broke it? |

I wish.
The trouble is Saints have broken the rules in order to gain an unfair advantage over Boro – however minor. That can't be undone. A punishment that hurts Saints (fine or EFL points deduction) without giving any advantage to Boro in the play-offs may not be enough.
I was just listening to a couple of (sensible) Boro guys arguing that the second leg should be played in front of only the travelling Boro fans. I can’t see the EFL interfering with the result, so they don’t have too many options. |

Hull in the FA Cup in 1966. Went overnight & left from the old Terminus station. Must have been shortly before it closed.
Don’t remember much about the game. Not only was I just a kid but it was so foggy that you could hardly see the other goal. Not helped by the steam trains going past on the railway line next to the ground. This was when they played at Boothferry Park.
Saints lost 1-0. |

Of course they're trying to sell it as a product, but there's a chasm between the media coverage given to the men's game and the women's.

I don’t see anybody trying to “sell it as a product up there with the men's game”, Nick. The BBC may be pushing it in its own right but that’s a good thing to help the sport grow. If you don’t like it, ignore it (like I do with snooker). It’s not difficult.
Who exactly is comparing the women's game to the men’s game, apart from you & some other posters on here? It's a totally pointless comparison. (For that reason I won't get into the Hampshire League discussion.)

Why do people still insist on comparing women’s football with men’s? I’ve never heard anybody say that the standard of play is comparable. The same could be said of nearly every professional sport that men and women both play.
If people watched it with an open mind they might find they enjoyed it more. |

I know a lot of people on here don’t like & will never like women’s football, but any fan of football should enjoy watching Spain. Favourites to win it for a reason. |
