Watched the game live on Sky. Flint was an immense no nonsense defender, If in doubt boot it out.
It can be frustrating but it clears the lines allows the team to regroup and get organised |

Under Hill Dale consistently had a slow start.
Watson is still trying to mould his team. Certain players he has brought in are going to prove successful. Unfortunately, the keeper and some of the loanees appear to have been thrown in at the deep end. |

Hopefully he has the same type of impact as Richard Jobson did a few years ago.
The back line has looked leaderless. EEL does have some leadership qualities but we need a strong older head with the younger defenders.
I'm hoping that he can speak Swedish to to let Ramming know what to do |

Very glad I came up for that.
My verdict is as follows.
Ramming - still looks nervous, but started to show more confidence, a clean sheet will do him the world of good.
Ebanks - baffled when he went off with the choice of substitution, but the two positives are Taylor and Duberry were excellent and we passed it out better from the back.
Wilson - I like the lad, he reads the game well and his passing started to improve as the game went on (great partnership with Moss)
TAR - the only slight negative for me was that he got too easily out muscled
Moss - phenomenal. Did well as left back but a colossus at Centre half
Francis - bossed the game with his link up play
Adeeko - like Moss a colossus in midfield, hardly put a foot wrong and a brilliant finish
Hannant - him and TAR didn't link up too well but and awesome finish for his goal
Taylor - his confidence and overall play made him another colossus
Brown - played much closer to Mani and deserved a goal for the energy he put in
Mani - his link up play was better as he had someone near him. He won't score as many goals as last season but was a handful and a great target man.
Duberry - him and Taylor really terrified the Shrewsbury right hand side, another awesome display
Smith - cameo appearance and a goal of the season contender
Hendo and Gilmour - didn't have enough time to do anything
Watson's team today was perfect against a very poor Shrewsbury team. We played at a higher tempo and tenacity. There was much less tippy tappy football at the back a d a greater urgency. |

As a veggie I had a cheese and onion pie.
Analysis
1. Was it worth the price? No way it was small and not brilliant.
2. Was it cheesy? No it was packed with fillers like potato etc.
3. Was the service good? Yes, but not rapid which I'm happy with as they were obviously on their first day.
4. Overall opinion... The pie was mediocre (my gut shows I've tried a few), service was good considering and I have no problems with it. The price, I my opinion as a bit of a connoisseur of cheese pies, should have been £5 max, reality £4.50 as it's at a footie ground |

The main problem I have witnessed is going forward is that Mani D is isolated. On Saturday he won plenty of headers, held the ball up relatively well but there was no one feeding on the scraps. When Brown cut inside he was able to link up with Mani and things looked promising.
The main irritation I had was the wthe team selection, or to put it more accurately the position players were placed in. Brown would have been better played in a 5 - 3 - 1 - 1 formation or a. 3 5 1 1 formation. That way he could feed off Mani |

OK as an exile j came up for the game and went to Tranmere.
My analysis is quite simple really. Square pegs round holes.
TAR and Moss are the first problems. TAR has no left foot, why play him on the left. Moss played the left win back role last year but was on the right. Both were therefore ineffective.
Wilson, looked as though he wanted to play left back but didn't seem to know if he 2as left back or left sided central defender of three.
Ebanks looked nowhere near as composed as last year, he's missing Gordon etc.
Sperring, basically lloked like a journeyman footballer with little talent.
Francis, has an eye for a pass but slowed down too many chances of a break by taking too long.
Gilmour look willing but was on his own.
East was out wide and is not a winger.
Mani, won quite a lot in the air a d on the deck but had no one to pass to or flick it on to.
Brown looked a handful but drifted in and out of the game.
Substitutes, no point as they were too late. Moss and TAR should have been replaced shortly after our equaliser as they were knackered and had been ineffective.
Ramming, better than at Tranmere but still struggling to adapt to being a commanding goalkeeper.
Manager - feels like he's a cross between Steve Eyre and Stockdale. He doesn't seem to have command of the dressing room and needs someone to enforce his views on the pitch like Done and Taylor |

As an exile I got to the Tranmere game and from what I saw this is the formation I'd go for with our current squad
Waller (Ramming is nowhere near confident enough and is rooted to his line)
3 central defenders
Maguire Ebanks Beckwith
Wing backs
Moss and Wilson
Midfield
Adeeko
Gilmour and East
Forwards Mani and Silcott |

I'm not very optimistic about this season. Injuries have already depleted the squad, there is aa new manager and aa new system in place. The defence doesn't look very secure at all and was the reason for our success for most of least season.
II think we will start very slowly and manage to finish around 20th.
There is aa brighter side to my post, last season II thought we would struggle to make the play offs |

I bought a ticket for tomorrow and only realised it said I have to pick up my ticket from the club shop.

Not really he'll probably be on more money with a bigger budget.
However, I cannot see Stockport County giving him enough time. They'll want promotion straight away. Failure to do so could mean an early exit. At Rochdale Jim was given time to develop the squad after a difficult first part of his tenure. |
