The turning point for our season after MC took over was losing at Stoke where we played 5 5ft0 players and lost out to a poor team that scored yet again from a set piece. MC brought back Dunne at full back to bolster our height in defence and it turned out to be masterstroke. We didn't really look back after that with Dunne, Cook and JCS being pretty invincible defending set pieces and scoring from set pieces. Dunne has gone on improving ever since and he can clearly play on the deck as well. I feared he might be done for pace v Leeds but, instead, he was superb.
He is a must keep and deserves a new contract. He has become the R's Dan Burn and will be worth a few mill in the next few years. |

No way will Eze be in the England squad - he's not a defensive midfielder or an aging, slow center half or has enough experience of playing in Saudi Arabia. |

He's been very good this year and has benefited from playing next to Cook. I think we should cash in while he is fit and we will be OK with Fox and Dunne to play alongside Cook next year. Use the cash to get a striker. Also get rid of Dykes if anyone mad enough to sign him. Same applies to Armstrong who has gone backwards this year and definitely doesn't fit in with MC style of play. |

Excellent debut. Too good for a reserve IMO so we should play him next year if MC thinks he is good enough. His distribution was OK and I am sure with more experience of playing with Cook etc. it will improve. The only decent keeper that I've seen in the championship this year was the Rotherham keeper but he has already been sold (as per Steve Evans - sold in the next week) Probably Leeds? |

Meslier was absolute sh*te. He panics and dives into his own own goal all the time. I thought the idea was to stop the ball from going over the goal line. Give me Begovic any day. |

What an amazing job he's done. You can see he's ultra competitive - hates losing or even drawing. He's transformed the team completely...
1. Cook and JCS into one of the best centre-half combination in the championship
2. Begovic's distribution - long ball out to Dunne on the wing
3. Dunne from a bungling, leggy, clumsy centre half into a skillful, attacking full back and utilised his strength in the air.
4. Field into an attacking, goal scoring mid-fielder from just a strong-tackling, back-passing midfielder
5. Bringing in Andersen (absolute class last night) to link the play
6. Collback is also class when he has good players to play alongside
7. He lets Chair play his attacking game
8. Getting Hayden in was also a big plus
9. Bringing on Smyth in the 2nd half for either Andersen or Willock - absolute thorn in full-back's backside. Just wish he would stay on his feet instead of falling on his knees all the time.
You can see that there is a plan there that they are all up to speed with it. His frequent rotating the team/squad initially annoyed me but at the end of the day, he was 100% correct. It keeps everyone fit and we now, unbelievably, seem to have cover in virtually every position.
Really hope we can tie him in to a 5 year contract.
I am sure he knows that to really progress next season we need a proper goal scoring attacker. Dykes played well yesterday but he justn't doesn't have a goalscoring instinct. |

Onuoha has never really had anything nice to say about his 6 years at QPR despite probably earning a fortune. I never rated Ramsey but really don't like this bad mouthing. Shows a distinct lack of integrity. |

I respect your opinion on Begovic. I do think that all championship keepers have made similar mistakes - even the Plymouth keeper came flying out to a cross and completely missed it - typical that there was no-one on the end of it. We've had 2 freakish goals conceded (albert own goal and Sheff Wed first) and it is not running for us. I hope it changes in the next 3 games.
I would much rather have a moan about Dykes. |

Apologies if I misunderstood but what is the point in comparing premier league tactics to little old QPR. It isn't all on the keeper in any case - you need quicker better defenders than we have to play all this modern playing out. I see in nearly every championship game, keepers and defenders (no doubt under instruction) getting caught playing out and all because they are not good enough to play that way. MC probably, as you say, wants to play that way but has adapted to Begovic's obvious shortcomings for the time being. I only defend Begovic when I think he has been unfairly critised (i.e. attending a Chelsea match, having a goalkeeping academy and not saving unsavable shots). I also don't believe that I am the only one who feels he is being unfairly critised. If you have a week or two to read back through this thread you might see that. |

I am sure we will be able to sign the world Cup winning keeper for about 90 million. Noticed Pickford made a huge mistake last night to set Chelsea on their way. Also the Burnley keeper has cost them with huge mistakes in their last 2 matches. Not many decent keepers around.
MC has made a huge difference to minimise these distribution errors from Begovic which have virtually eradicated the clangers in recent months where he has made allowances for his lack of speed. Occasional booting into the stands happen to most keepers.
Begovic will be gone soon and it is getting exhausting defending him against ideas of perfection and his Chelsea connections.
I just hope we can find a decent keeper but we are so far down the pecking order in financial terms that I doubt we will be able to. Rotherham keeper looked decent but he won't have gone unnoticed by richer teams. |

Don't think the jury is out on the goals yesterday. 3 excellent goals scored by a very good Hull team. Trying to micro-analyse each goal to try to put the blame onto Begovic is ridiculous and it just highlights the anti-Begovic feeling held by many. Everyone can have their opinions on him but to criticise him for the goals yesterday was unnecessary. |
