this has got to be the worst start off any newly promoted club to the efl in its history?? maybe tvos can confirm with some stats. as long as messers watkins and his assistant gives their heads a rattle im sure you will be fine. |

usually... newly promoted non league sides to the EFL have a good day on the season opener and kick on with full mementom not the case here, i wonder how many previous non leaguers have had such an abysimal first game in the EFL?? maybe one for TVOS to delve into the archives. your manager watkins needs to pull his finger out.

the Congo game other week was the first time we come back and won in normal time since 66 i think? the Cameroon game at Italia 90 went too ET i remember it well and the next game i watched in France on a school trip.

i remember watching it at home with my dad and big brother who are both egg chasers and they were laughing at England, i watched the next game in France on a school trip and the teachers let us have a glass of beer each while watching in the hotel.
i remember 86 it was the first world cup i sat down to watch i saw the hand of god live but dont remember the first 2 group games we lost, i remember watching the last group game knowing we need to win or we're out and the 2nd round - poland /paraguay both 3-0 and linekar with his bandaged wrist.

im old school like most on here one up one down and u should think yourselves lucky but i know how much the NL and non league has developed so its ok to be outside the EFL ive no desire to get back but if its on the cards i'll go with it, im happy where we are now its so much better will see how next season goes its a new league and very exciting, for me the big target is NL North it looks a cracking league that but so is the NPL proper we are now in so will see how it goes.
i wouldnt support 3 up 3 down as the Football League used to be exclusive and it will get to the point where league 2 and NL look similar abit like it does now but it will get much worse, then again its been called the EFL for a long time but its still the old Football League.
I think now its great where we are and what we're doing the football pyramid in this country is exceptional their is nothing else like it anywhere else in the world alot of the NL North/South clubs will be pro or nearly, its all good right now. [Post edited 12 May 22:18]

especially to the old rivals lot on here - judd, r17, ttny, kel, lama, bullet, col, shandy.... im genuinely made up for you, got to admit i wrote u off yday morning but rivalry aside the two best sides were promoted at end of day and thats how it should be, i still disagree with 3 up 3 down tho and im sure u lot do now too!!
from 2 nil down that was very special but seems typical of the season, enjoy you all deserve it.

i bet it was im not sure how i would cope with that! but you all seem to be doing ok.
we got well over 9k last home game last season when we won the NWCP title but that was the last game off the season and we were home, we were away this time, we still had a chance off winning the title other week if other results went our way hence the 7k.
average between 3-4k usually, should be getting over 4k next season. |

cheers Judd my OP is too all my old rivals muckers i was gutted for you all, been watching the videos on utube so cruel to miss out like that but if you do it at Wembley it will have been worth it.

how do razz your old mucker here, im genuinly gutted for you all, i know how much this meant to everyone and you would have deserved it, it was fascinating the final third off the season both clubs winning and scoring late goals yours last week to take it to the last day im sure you will dust youselves down and a nice trip to Wembley is on the cards.
Being Bury and a rival i naturally wanted you to fail on Saturday but not in such a cruel way, i had to listen into the 2nd half on the wireless, it sounded to me like they were most likely to come out on top your keeper having a great game but it had all the makings of you scoring a dramatic winner in stoppage time and sure enough it happened.. i got to admit i smiled and nodded my head they have a done it and the dale lot deserve it but what happened after that was total dis belief i said to my mate thats typical dale.
the pitch invasion is only human nature im not sure it contributed to the outcome ive read on here how it gave them time to compose themselves etc but it could have so easily worked against them too in loss of momentum/ giving up and accepting defeat etc but i understand the issue being the game had not ended, any pitch invasion should be at the final whistle but like i said it would have happened at any ground so i wouldnt dwell on it like some are on here whats done is done.
hope to be watching you all at Wembley it would be a fantastic way to go up.
i used to hate the play offs we were involved in many we never went up that way.

Bury back to back champs.. if its any consolation and your still in this league next season just think we're only two behind you now!!

agree with someone earlier your position now is the better one it will take the pressure off going into last few games and if you do stay 2nd from now to the end it will make it easier to take.
York will have the pressure knowing all it takes is too slip up, what are the run ins like for both clubs? i know you play each other last day.
their goal difference is like an extra point.
4790 at Gigg Friday 0-1 down at half time and for most of the game then changes made finish 4-1 amazing turn around. [Post edited 5 Apr 13:05]

aye Judd, my mate was working in morcambe or southport not long after and saw him in a shop he couldnt get out quick enough.
tbh i much prefer it now then pre 2019 i cant wait to go today we have levelled off now averaging 3-4k crowds the day trippers not so much now but last time their was agroup of very vocal germans from oberhausen wearing their colours its all good stuff. |

P Butler as in Paul Butler? didnt he play for you early mid 90's then took the step up and signed for us well before 2000 or did he go back to you? he scored the winner at Maine Rd.
Saw him a couple of times in pubs in Whitefield while he played for us. |
