Arguably Saints were the first team to not sit back and defend 11 men behind the ball against us this year? Whiel we all thought this was the apporach teams would take to stifle us, maybe attacking us like that is the better way forward to beat us.
Os this is all waffle and we just came unstuck due to it being game 4 in 11 days and rotation/tired legs/minds caught up with us |

Thats what it’s been so far, 2 home games and no goals. Teams just sit back knowing we have no idea on how to break them down. Yeo and Just are not ready for this level imo, what does Walta need to happen in front of him before he gets a kick in anger. |

I'm not bothered abut a style of play if it's successful, what i am concerned about however is that after 3 games this season we have absolutely no idea what Matos style of play is. It's not high press, it's not rock n roll, it's not possession based, there is no discernible quality to pin your hat on to |

2 completely different scenarios though
Piroe is still young and will be hungry to show he still has the ability to perform at this level, limited injuries behind him
Bony was a broken shell of a body and was being held together by duct tape and was in the tale end of his career |

he could, i personally don't think he's quick enough or clever enough in his movement to succeed at the top table. He'd be another Piroe for me. However for £18/20m i think we should let him go and get in a CH and C who can push us on and we have 2 good strikers that could share the load and possibly get another in on loan (Dare i say we attempt an audacious loan bid for Piroe) |

As much as i'd like Vipotnik to stay i also have the nagging feeling that he could be a one season wonder and maybe we should cash in while he's at his highest value.
Would you cash in now if it meant we could get in a CH,CM and maybe another CF? |

I'll be honest, i thought his performance was a bit shaky and felt very nervous whihc was to be expected and will only get better. I don't get the hyperbole that he was our best player by a long way. I felt he gave the ball away a lot and was out of position a fair few times. He will only get better as he gets more confident but he was shattered on the hour mark |

Featured in all their games, trained throughout, no real break before hand, limited pre-season going into our season and then a month in will be off for another tournament. How ever you look at it, players without a good rest and then an injury free pre season struggle |

decent performance against a Croatia Vets team. Poor in the first half then out run a leggy Croatia team in the second half. They'll walk this group then hopefully come unstuck against the first good team they play like normal |

further highlighting that he is not the problem in our backline, a top defender at championship level when not being asked to do silly things. If i was to replace 1 of the 2 CH's it would be Ben. Does the same as Burgess just not as well imo |

or maybe they are people who are fed up of seeing great attacking position after great attacking position being squandered by one of the most useless wingers we've had at the club in a long long time.
He offers us nothing week in week out besides defensive work, going forward he is a complete non entiity
22 G/A in 116 matches is shocking return for someone who is put into so many good positions. His crossing success rate must be even worse. He has no pace, no skill to beat a player and can't cross the ball. It's beggers belief that he is playing at this level of football. The second most frustrating footballer at the club, i won't mention the other as i don't want to derail the thread |
