Burnley in Financial trouble

That would have been under the previous owners
SR took us over in January 22
Did the buying price reflect taking on debts that the club had?

Just checked and realised that it's a year tomorrow that we sacked Will Still the day after a defeat and wretched performance at home to Preston

Quite the turnaround and rollercoaster the last year has been

Thanks for reminding me, I was given this recently by my Dad, it was on my grandads kitchen wall from when he got it in 1976. Just need to get it framed now and put it up in "the office"

You've had a shocker on this thread mush!

"For the first time in a long time"

Really? Have you forgotten about the run from February last season and the results since the international break?

I'll have a listen, thanks for the recommendation

I'll have to check back to what I've bought, I still buy so many records I often forget some of the things ive bought. Probably Beck's new lp, Pye Corner Audio at the top of the list and I really like the Thundercat lp

Not sure if they'd be your thing but we went to see The Cinematic Orchestra at St Pauls Cathedral last night, minimum amplification, just used the natural acoustics. Bought the expensive seats and was sat close to the stage in the dome, absolutely spellbinding

Also have you seen this book?

My QPR pal has shown me some stickers with him in the Rangers shirt with the phrase “you can take me to hell and back just as long as we’re together”

He also showed me some graffiti

Should start a rumour that he’s going to Middlesbrough in January
That would probably send their fanbase into meltdown

Now he's a player I'd happily see return, won't happen though

Villa don't have much luck signing centre backs from us do they?

Counterbalanced by Paul Murray who only made 1 appearance for Saints, away at Spurs from what I remember
That's actually loads of players

Good Quote From Danny Dyer
at 20:39 28 Oct 2026

I don't remember it ever being a conscious decision or choice to be honest
When I first got interested in football my grandad who was from Southampton, my dad and older brother all supported and went to games. My dad also bought me a candy stripes Admiral home shirt, so that was it really.
If you look at the context of the times Saints were a good choice, established in the first division with a charismatic manager and a couple of seasons before we signed Kevin Keegan

My brother lost interest in the mid 80's, he never really got over the disappointment of losing the semi-final to Everton but still keeps an eye out for the results
My grandad passed away in the early 90's, his last game was when we beat Liverpool 4-1 in 1989 which is probably the best I've ever seen Saints play and a real favorite game I've been to

So its just something that my dad and I do, have done for over 40 years and will continue to do

My QPR supporting pals have always referred to them as The Pikeys or peg/lucky heather sellers
Millwall pal calls them Stripey Nigels

Pete Doherty used to write for their Kick Up The R’s fanzine when he was young

Robert Smith, Bill Bailey, Seann Walsh and Mick Jones all support Rangers

My mate and his young son saw a very grumpy Mick Jones having a selfie with a fan after a match, my pals son asked “why is that bloke asking for a selfie with that tramp?” My mate had to explain “that tramp” was a very famous guitar player, albeit a scruffily dressed one

Also Jack Reagan and George Carter mentioned going to QPR a couple of times in The Sweeney, there’s one episode where Reagan chases a villain through the stands at an empty Loftus Road
