LFW Awaydays — Eastlands, Manchester
at 10:00:19

I put a bet on before the game and took Rangers to win and draw at stupid odds of 10/1 and 30/1 respectively. With 5 minutes to go, and feeling very sure of myself, I said to the bloke in front of me "I can't lose here....." Famous last words.

Ironically, If I’d have been at home (and not managed to get a ticket, which was nearly the case) as it was on a betting exchange I could have withdrawn the winnings before the end of the game. Backing on Football is a very volatile past time.

The small amount of cash I lost was insignificant to the experience of such a magnificent day following QPR.

Also;

I think you must have nicked our Blue Fez idea. My son and I decided not wear ours to Eastlands as we weren’t getting any luck (WBA springs to mind) and little lad felt a bit conspicuous in his although looking less of a berk than his old man.
I haven't seen them since and they are presumed lost.

As it turns out we still lost at City, but who cares?

BTW every time I say to my dear old Mum that we are off to the football again she simply replies :- ~"Not again, you are joking......" excellent job.

.....oh and I was in the loo when Mackie scored. Gutting.

QPR snare Campbell at last
at 21:40:42

Given the depth of the squad (or not) injuries will define our season.

Everyone stays fit; not going down. The loss of one or 2 for any period, and the supporting crew will struggle to fill the holes.

Can't knock Warnock, given the budget. One of the few managers that can get players collectively or individually to over perform consistently and get results. Most of his peers are prone to arrogance and dillusion when it comes to taking players that need a polish, shoulder or rocket up the Jacksey and turning them into performers. Warnock seems to have the magic required.

He might even convert Kieran Dyer into a full back!

Saying that, consistency and form will play a big part too.

Bottom line, if we score more goals than the other team we'll be fine!

(what on earth am I talking about??)
