You cannot get away from the injury crisis, you just cant, players have been brought in to cover, who are not the players wanted despite what is said in interviews..the gaffer did come with a plan, and was backed by the board, but injury after injury the plan fell apart.
The keeper situation needs addressing, was always going to be a downgrade on Whatmuff, but this lad just dies not seen ready..I remember Waller being highly regarded when he was last here, so is it a case of this one having to play as part of the loan deal?
Defensively we are nowhere near what we wanted to be and ended up with a very inexperienced back 4.would we have been better yesterday with EEL, Beckwith ans Mcguire?
IW obviously loves his wingers, and we all drooled at Haynes coming back but hes injured ao somebody else is in that role.
Its only 16 weeks since wembley, and look at how the squad has changed, not only have we got new players, but we have new players to replace new players.. East and Gilmour have found the step up hard.
The forwards, we knew that Rodney could dissapoint, he has done in the past, but Mani has been the major dissapointment, its very sad to see hom so ineffective.
There are worrying signs with IW, he doesn't seem to have a presence.
Yesterday im sure he was as shocked as we all where by the way the second half went, after a very even first half. It was a shocker.
But with an inexperienced side who havent played together much, there isnt that togetherness and that will to fight for each other.
The National league success didnt happen overnight it was planned at a pace where improvement was implemented gradually.
The bonds and relationships were carved over time, into an unstoppable force.
We are there again now, new team,new relationships.
It takes time, but points need to won also..
Its a tough call from the Ogdens etc now as to whether to stick or twist. |

Didnt we sack Stockmoor after four games into a season, how did that end?
Its not always the answer and maybe giving Ian Watson more time is the way to go.
I think it has come as a shock to last seasons players just what a jump in class it is. Gilmour and East are no longer dominating midfield, Mani looked lost when he played, the new boys probably dont lnowntheir way round the home ground yet, so we need to be patient, some of them are only here because of injuries.
We have a huge downgrade in the keeper department, and that was almost inevitable.
We are allowing out players and saying the team arent as food as last seasons, but we are playing at a higher level, so its impossible to say.
Would the Dale side who played the last 10 games of last season done well this season, let's remember it was a real struggle wasn't it.
Sadly all momentum appears to have been lost. Too many changes have led to nobody really knowing what we have in the building.
Its going to take more time, nothing else can fix it. |

Its a shame to see us.where we are atm, so much momentum and so many memorable moments last season, and I really think the fans need to realise that those days although very recent are now a thing if the past.
We have to learn to stick by the team through good and bad times.
So much has changed already in the space of a few short months.
The new Gaffer needs our support, time will tell if he is good enough or not, thats a future thing, all we can do is back him and support him.
So many changes, so many new faces, some because the first batch of players we bought are injured.
The last two games has shown the difference in class between league two and the National league, no easy games, the tempo is much quicker also.
Watson plied his trade as a mangaer in a division below the national league, so im sure he is taken a back by the difference in intensity and speed, I know he has been a coach at this level before, but this is his show now. Our players are being found out, our dynamic duo of East and Gilmour no longer dominate the midfield, Ebanks, like a goalkeeper does so many good things but his glaring errors are all to easy to see, Mani has been nowhere near it.
The new keeper looks very nervous, but he is following Whatmuff and I dknt think many keepers could do that with any confidence.
So here we are, new problems to solve, new challenges to meet.
I think we owe it the above mentioned to stand by the lads who gave us so much joy last season, and if and when their time in the first team comes to an end we thank them and support whoever takes their place.
It can all too quickly become undone, but I think two games in is far too soon to fly the white flag. |

Its a new season in a higher division, every club has had a pre seaaon and every club will start by believing they have a chance, its only at kick off do you realy found out, and this will have been a massive shock to the club.
Not a single positive, the club are on such a high atm, but that will dissapear quickly and the away support will fade, its an expensive hobby and you cant expect fans to witness that sort of performance too often.
So Watsons honeymoon period is over and he need to act very quickley to make the team at least look like they can play.
What we witnessed today was the Dale of 4 or 5 years ago.
It is only one game, but there was nothing to suggest any hopes of a fast forward team who will excite and give everything.
Keeper was miles off and after Whatmuff last season it makes this one look even worse. The CBs were awful, the stupid passibg amongat the back 4 gives false impressions when you read the stats, so much non football being played.
East and Gilmour, have they found their level, today looked too much for them both.
Rodney is just not good enough, awful distribtion and not much else.
Mani looked uninterested and though he was fighting a lost cause, he never actually fought for that cause.
I thought Bilongp first half was our best player.
Second half was so easy for Newport, and though we looked a bit better ww still didnt threaten them.
Things can only get better, has to be the hope, or it could be the longeat season yet. |

I personaly thought we were completely outclassed.
Passing when it mattered was dreadful.
Rodney was poor.
The Ebanks error was pivotal though. And we didnt recover from it.
I get Bradford are a good side and its early season, but the lack of quality and the inability to do the basics was dissapointing.
Im confident we will improve, but this was a real eye opener |

It is always going to be the end result for any successful Dale Manager isnt it, a fact we have to realise.
And of course it isnt just a Dale problem.
I dont see Mcnulty hesitating if he got the chance.
If his stock is high he needs take advantage, if he stays and it doesnt go well here next season he wont get any sympathy from fans here and he knows it. |

I was very happy that BW reached the final, I felt it gave us the best chance, but the more I look into them and the more I read, the more worried I get, I really hope and very much doubt that JM and the coaching staff are not in anyway complacent, as I think its a very tough game indeed |

I was saying to my Nephew after the game, that if we do go up, we will probably be the only club whose fan base will go down.
Imagine a scenario where we are home to Crawley for example, 15th in the table, crowd will be rubbish.
I think the National league has been brilliant for us, and given us so many memories, I really hope we achieve our goals over the next few weeks, and a win at Wembley would be the perfect way to say goodbye and thank this division for propelling us forward again, if we dont make it, ill look forward to another season here. |

York were gone, couldnt even drag themselves off the floor, we had them beat, going on the pitch gave them a chance to compose themselves, brain dead supporters, one more minute and the pitch was there, should hang your heads in shame. |

Not gonna lie, I got up and went to the chippy after their equaliser, I never even considered a winning goal, I've never done that before whether at a game or on tv, for me it was the dreadful way we trued to see out the game, it was terrible, no game management at all, and lazy passing, Manis pass to Hendo for their goal, summed it all up, and I just did not want to watch it end that way.
Next week is going to be both amazing and awful at the same time, being in the moment will be amazing, watching the game will be an awful experience l, and it shouldn't be, but how do you enjoy it? |

I wonder how much their bright all yellow kit played a part, it definitely made then look like they had more players. And I imagined Dale players on the ball looking up to play a pass, could only see the yellow.
I found it a very strange performance from us, as we failed to get close to them on many occasions, they were a huge side and must be a nightmare to play against, especially when you looked at the height of most of our side. I found it strange we long as often as we did because of this. |

Football is all about goals, we have had as many big chances as they have, we havent taken as many, but we have definitely given away more chances than we normally would, Southend are on it and the early goals have increased their confidence.
We cam score more tonight, but sadly they look as likely. |

I really struggle to understand some of the Dale fans mentality, we are having a quite amazing season, its only not our best season because of the level we are playing at, but as far as good seasons, and Dale go, this one is right up there.
But tonight we dared to not win an away game, thats it, now the manager who got us in this fantastic position, is being questioned, the same manger whose recruitment has brought us a team we can be so proud of, how often have we been able to say that. People asking for a better manager, wow how much better could another manager do?
If we do not win the league this season it will be purely down to the calibre of York City and their excellent strike force, a strike force we cannot afford.
Its sad to see some Dale fans go the way of those fans from other clubs, who we have always looked down at. We should be absolutely fully behind JM and trust him, and believe even when it goes wrong, he did the right thing at the time. Let's sit back and enjoy the ride, and may the best team win |

Teams changed a lot recently and not for the better, need.
Whatmuff, Mani, Beckwith, big losses.
Rodney not the same player without Mani.
Need a period on consolidation, try and find more than one way to play.
Some really good sides around us and York especially, Boreham Wood doing the dark horse role.
Certainly not a time to panic, but certainly a rime to reflect. |
